Loooove it
so i was searching for a summer/spring fragrance and i found the best one in the market i'm becoming a fan of mugler's fragrances and especially the bottles this bottle will definitely stand out in my room, a citrucy openning thanks to the blood orange and tangerine so refreshing and so sweet (in a good way)

A short zest of blood orange...
Opening with a terrific blood orange and tangerine blast this is quite a different take on the earlier A-Men versions that mainly focus on the warmer sweeter territories. This blood orange is sweet, but not as synthetically sweet as i.e. Rabannes cloying Ultrared for Men. Of course, you get the classic TM patchouli/vanilla and a hint of coffee drydown as in most A-Men varieties (the Mugliernade ??) but this was probably to be expected.

I see it as a warmer weather scent, but could also be refreshing in colder temps perhaps ? Unfortunately, the blood orange zestiness disappears within an hour, I would really love this to have continued throughout the drydown for some more freshness. Also I find the overall longevity of, say, Pure Malt to be better than this one, but that could be caused by the citrus elements that often fade out before other elements.

Overall - fresh and enjoyable but nothing groundbreaking.

Respect is not earned by doing many things well. It is only gained by doing one thing right. --> Maximilian Pohl
Respect for this unique piece.

Due to the fact that I was never a Mugler wearer before and thus have no associations, I can approach this Ultra Zest from a neutral perspective.
At first, the extreme hardness of the blood orange hits you, more specifically, the outer peel. It's as if someone is peeling oranges. Additionally, the mint appears, and not very subtly but also demanding. The sharpness of ginger is consequently somewhat noticeable, which I also appreciate.
So far, everything is done right.

As a living orange peel, one exists for a maximum of half an hour; after that, a resemblance to the peppery Bang can be detected, simply more self-assured and dominant.
The vanilla then indicates the direction.
Ultimately, it ends in the finale with the harmony of tonka bean.
Also important, here you have a truly strongly perceivable companion that accompanies you throughout the day. With all the comments from daily encounters. These are usually in a positive and inquisitive sense, asking what this special and pleasant fragrance is about. Often with the remark, very special and very intense.

An attempt to bring this lush and very flamboyant Mugler closer.

Clarins, as the manufacturer of Azzaro and Mugler products, has become bolder and more provocative in its innovations. They do not bring numerous Night, Intense, and extreme variants to the market but instead try to carve out their own bold niches. This Ultra is clearly a genuine attempt to stand out from the great monotony and not to appear like all the boring and uninspired new releases.
Take it or leave it. A fragrance that polarizes.

Why must a fragrance be mainstream to be criticized?
It is also fine if a product is contrary, like this orange-vanilla container.
If it is rejected, then let it be so. If it is loved, immediately with a repurchase factor of 100%.

The beauty in the world of taste senses is not just to consume sugar, sweetness, and a lot of marketing fluff, but to experience honest work that deserves respect.

My Beginning in the World of Perfume and All-Time Favorite (so far)
It has been more than 4 years since I started to inform myself about fragrances. Before that, I always wore scents that my father brought me. They were always just mainstream fragrances that you could smell on every corner. The gifts made me happy, as I had not yet discovered the vast cosmos of perfume.
As I learned more and more, I was drawn deeper into this subject.

With a small budget, I set out on a search and stumbled upon Ultra Zest alongside Nautica Voyage (it had to be summer scents, as I was going to a warm foreign country for an extended period).
When I think about my last perfume purchases, I know that I bought them online and they arrived a few days later.
For the Ultra Zest, I had to come up with a plan since it was sold out in Germany.
I managed to snag it on the Austrian Douglas website and had to find a way to get the package to Germany, as Douglas Austria does not ship to Germany (for whatever reason?). I then found a service online that accepts packages within AU and forwards them to DE. Once that was sorted, it finally arrived, and I had never been so excited about a fragrance!

It starts very fruity, citrusy with a sweet (blood) orange note. It somewhat reminds me of orange Tic Tacs, simply delicious!
As it develops, it becomes softer and remains tasty, just in a different way than at the beginning. I can smell vanilla and tonka bean. It envelops you with a warm, slightly spicy sweetness that lasts a long time.
On super hot days, it becomes "sticky," but in the evening, when it cools down a bit, you can definitely still wear it!
If I'm not mistaken, I received my very first perfume compliment for this scent, a lovely memory!

I am sad that I didn't buy another bottle back then and was wasteful with it. Who could have guessed what a gem (at least for me) I had found?
I hope it comes back someday, as it will likely remain one of my favorites forever, farewell my friend!

Fresh and juicy blood orange opening. In the drydown, the scent is sweet, fruity, gourmand and spicy with coffee, vanilla and patchouli.

Is it over hyped? No, not at all. Is it overpriced? For sure...is it worth it? Well, I don't regret it. Fantastic smell

Typical modern artificial ultrasweet compote, unisex and linear boring... and of course - overhyped and overpriced.

Blood orange distorted to the max - it's at the same time insanely sour and overwhelmingly sweet. I wish coffee note was more emphasized

Sweet, creamy orange based on a streamlined A*men DNA. Youthful meets sophisticated. It works best in spring and autumn.

Amazing Rush of Orange Citrus. Sweet, but versatile and dang near perfect in my eyes. The cinnamon note comes out a bit too much sometimes.
