Light and warmth.
It is a fragrance that has me completely in love. It's bright, warm, fun...
Its sillage may not be the best in the world, but it lasts quite long on my skin (although I am aware that it lasts very little on other people's skin. Sometimes the skin's ph does not play in favor of the perfume). It is a soft, but persistent aroma (as if you had your favorite song on your mind all day).

The start is fresh. The citrus is felt quite intensely, as if it were an infusion of lemon with ice. Later, small orange blossom nuances appear, which give way to the star flower, the fe tiaré flower (at least it seems to me), it is perceived soft, well aligned with the other notes.
The dry down is very nice, because this is where the essence of this fragrance is seen, a warmth intertwined by vanilla, heliotrope and cashmere.

Personally, in summer I don't use it, because, despite its fresh output, it turns into a warmth and sweetness that can be a bit overwhelming.

The fantasy ingredient
I wanted to find a lovely tea fragrance and upon reading ingredients and reviews decided to give this one a go, though I never liked Alien.
The opening was glorious, tea/citrus galore with a lovely floral back bone. I thought to myself "wow, this is going to work for me!" and decided after first, light application some two hours before (1 spray per wrist, from far), to indulge a bit more. I gave another spray per arm, happily sniffing away.

But. BUT. What happened next shocked me and made me sick. After some couple more hours, a sickly sweet note began to rise, very strong, overpowering everything else. It was so strong that made my stomach churn.
I could not believe this, and yet this note had nothing of the lovely, fresh and uplifting tea/citrus/flowery vibe of before. All those nice notes vanished, and that one roared like an angry tiger, its bite never letting go of me. Gosh, I hated it!

I made some investigation to understand what was going on because I was truly dumb struck. I discovered that almost all Mugler's perfumes contain cashmeran. This is a synthetic note, for in nature no bush, tree, wood or anything else produces it. It is created in lab, it's a fantasy ingredient - this is how it's called in the industry - a bit musky, spicy, powdery and it does not wash off well.
It is for this very reason used in fabric conditioners (!) due its property to "cling" to "expand" floral notes. Holy cow! That's exactly the sickly sweet note that made me feel queasy and would not wash off my wrists or arms.
I kid you not, after 6 days and few washes I can still smell it - though much fainter - there where I sprayed it.
The same shocking reaction I had with Wonder Bouquet of Mugler, a perfume which I adore.... when sprayed in the air. The first time I wore it on, it gave me the same violent, sickening reaction and I found out that most of Mugler's fragrances contain cashmeran, which is actually the infamous DNA many talk about: a syntethic note though!
Not very extraordinary, rather nauseating.

Alas, I would have loved this and possibly Alien too if it wasn't for this cashemran note, but I must be sensitive to it because it truly makes me sick and prevents me from ever wearing any Mugler scent which contains it. That makes it all of them or so.... thank God it is not contained in Angel, which I wore for over 20 years with no such issue!

Sadly, this is the biggest big no for me - to anything which "clings" to the skin with this power and aggressiveness. I did not like the experience and will never buy again any perfume containing cashmeran notes!!

A very brief appearance ...
I didn't think twice about purchasing this latest Alien version. In fact, I bought it blind, as I knew I would love it, when I read the notes. I realized it was An EDT, but knowing the strength of the original Alien, and how rich and long lasting the Essence Absolue is, I just assumed this would have a decent longevity.

The notes are so harmonious, and they blend together so beautifully! The Tiara flower is the shining star in this fragrance. It has such a tropical feel to it, and matches so perfectly with the Neroli, tea, and orange blossom top notes. So fresh, but not ultra citrusy. A perfect fragrance for hot and sticky days. I would wear this all year round, with no qualms at all! But alas..the downside. It just doesn't last. Not even two hours. This may not be the problem for everyone, but for fragrance absorbing skin, it is so very fleeting! I was heartbroken when I realized how quickly it faded, but love it so much, I just have to re-apply often. This may be a plus for lovers of light and soft fragrances. This does not resemble the original Alien, as the Tiara flower is softer than the jasmine used InThe original Alien. The dry down is so lovely. A gorgeous soft heliotrope , with the most delicate of ambers. I am still thrilled to own this beauty, and still have high hopes for a better performance in the hotter months to come. But for the time being I will spray generous amounts, and re-apply as needed!

Lowbrow
Without any timidity or moderation – the truth about ALIEN EAU EXTRAORDINAIRE reveals in an instant after donning.

It is strong, a genuine extraterrestrial being. It is a leaner, taller, slenderer variation of the original ALIEN, almost scary. Fortunately it lets you breath, the cloud is not so massive as ALIEN’s. Extraordinaire? Hm. Dry and smileless, if it would be a flower, I would run to irrigate it. If it would be a person from literature, aunt Petunia from HP could be easily identified.

The bottle and packaging is beautiful, nevertheless it shows much meeker picture about the perfume than it would deserve. I do not own a bottle, but on base of my bad experience, believe, that the cap is the same cheap low quality one as on the original ALIEN.

Endurance: 8-9 hours on my skin.

Extraordinary
Alien Eau Extraordinaire, yes, it is different from the other Aliens and that is a good thing. For me, it is the most beautiful, summery Alien in the Alien range.

It may dance out of the Alien line, but anyone who doesn't recognize the Alien here doesn't know the Alien.

The Extraordinaire is a light, floating, golden Alien. Just a delicate, fresh, and beautiful veil of scent. Radiantly bright like the sun. Light as the first sunbeam in the morning that tickles your nose.

If Mugler hadn't been so generous with the samples, I wouldn't have tested it.
But it starts off so wonderfully fresh with citrus notes and neroli. Beautiful and bright orange blossoms exude their delicate and sweet scent here. It is a feast for the senses and very uplifting - simply enchanting, spring-like, and cheerful.
I also detect a delicate salty note among the summery flowers.
I feel like I'm at the Mediterranean, where the air is laden with orange blossom aromas and salt.
Now I can hardly wait for this year's surely very hot summer to refresh myself with Alien Eau Extraordinaire again and again.
The woody base, which is underpinned by clean amber, is completely unobtrusive and very pleasant. The scent radiates pure freshness and zest for life.
In my opinion, it is more of an Eau de Cologne, aimed at refreshing and clearing the head briefly and cooling down.

The longevity is quite short at 4-5 hours for an Alien. But the regular Eau de Toilette doesn't last longer either.
For a Cologne, as it smells to me, the longevity is good.
I definitely think it's worth the price for this summer.

In the first hour, I like it the best. The orange blossoms are excellent and wonderfully executed here.
Sometimes after showering, I also need a scent that immediately exudes its most beautiful aroma. One that I don't want to wait one to two hours for it to develop. This is the case here.
It is a wonderfully balancing and harmonizing scent for the senses.
It truly dances out of the Alien line and stands out wonderfully.

The sun goddess from the advertisement seems a bit frightening and cool to me. She also appears somewhat arrogant and distant. However, the scent feels very heartfelt to me. It hits me directly in the heart and feels harmonious, gentle, and delicate.

At the moment, Alien Eau Extraordinaire is my number one. I received it for my birthday and am very happy about it. Mugler has done a good deed for me.

Bitter top notes. Thankfully dries down much better. A soft and tender Alien for shy, timid perfumistas!

I fell asleep with an alien. Before that, we had vanilla pudding and drank bergamot tea. I think I fell a little in love...

A summer-ready alien that shows its best side - light and carefree - at five o'clock tea time.

If you brewed a tea with Alien Eau de Parfum and added bergamot, it would create this scent.

My favorite Alien. Not as overwhelming and space-filling as the original Alien. A successful lightness from Neroli and Bergamot.
