Fragrance in the Wrong Bottle
Hm, what do I actually know about the brand Guess? Not very much, I must admit. Basically, I only know that products from this house are usually relatively overpriced, kitschy things that are adorned with a large, golden G. Probably to give said kitsch the finishing touch. Anyway, you can probably tell from my reading that I haven't been able to relate much to Guess products so far. Unlike a friend of mine, who regularly drags me into a Guess boutique - much to my dismay, as I always feel quite out of place there. Well, I always thought I was the only one - until I encountered Seductive Wild Summer. Because, even if she dresses up to fit in with the rest of the collection: the poor thing cannot possibly feel comfortable there.
Guess Seductive Wild Summer naturally comes in a pink bottle with gold print, a gold chain, and a golden spray head. This in combination with the product name? Oh dear, I wonder what that might result in? Sure? No, it's something completely different.
Summer starts off with a green meadow. At least, that's the impression that pear and red berries create together. I can't really smell lychee. So, no heavy, fruity sweetness - this is initially a very delicate, green, feminine fragrance that (being rather soapy) reminds me more of a shower gel than a perfume.
Oh... suddenly I notice that there seems to be an orange tree standing in this meadow. The scent does not come without fruit after all. But even this note integrates very subtly into the overall picture. The same goes for the rose, which makes an appearance a bit later. Hm, if you imagine the meadow visually, it might seem a bit quirky... But whatever, as long as the rose doesn't grab a rose stick to beat me with, it can stay. After that, not much happens, the rose might become a bit woodier over time, but that's about it.
Conclusion: I discovered Seductive Wild Summer on the drugstore shelf between Beyoncé and Puma. However, since this is a really good fragrance (no annoying hairspray undertones, decent longevity) from this category, it is certainly worth a sniff for people over 20. As mentioned above, the fragrance combination might be a bit of a mixed bag, but anyone looking for a reasonably priced, naturally subtle casual scent that conveys a freshly showered feeling will certainly not be poorly advised here.
