A beautiful breath of fresh air on a misty morning
Fantôme is one of those fragrances that quietly surprised me. Despite the name and its inspiration - dark forest, mist, fog, shadow - this isn’t a dark and moody forest scent. Instead, it’s light, airy and beautifully translucent.
It opens fresh and clean, almost soapy, like crisp laundry drying outside on a cool spring morning. There’s something comforting and calm about it, like steam rising after rain, or a quiet walk that clears your head. It’s not loud or attention-grabbing at all; it sits close to the skin, a gentle presence rather than a statement.
If you’re usually into bold, resinous, smoky woods, this might take you by surprise. You need a few extra sprays to really catch it, but that’s part of its charm; it’s subtle, intimate and endlessly wearable. I could easily reach for this for days in a row without getting tired of it, I just love wearing it so much.
