Blackish Berries And Soapy Moss
As always, I want to tell you my impressions, perplexities, and preconceptions honestly. And that's why the combination of blackberry and musk always leaves me a little sceptical. It could be because several perfumes are based on this accord. Or maybe it's because I'm always afraid I'll come across something syrupy, cloying, hairspray, synthetic musk, and pungent berry that bears no resemblance to authentic blackberry or any berry I'm familiar with. Something that looks like laundry detergent or fabric softener. Instead, I can actually smell the blackberry and musk in this one. This fruity and herbaceous fragrance plays with the contrast and accords of purple wild blackberry and radiant white musk.

More & Musk announces with an explosion of light citrusy orange peel, which soon shows greenish and aromatic facets with a slightly peppery slant. Silently, wild berries emerge from underground, breaking the surface of luminous lemon juice. It's strange, but after a few minutes, a sour leafy smell develops that releases an aroma similar to L'Ombre dans L'Eau Eau de Toilette, the same grassy, lush, verdant acidity courtesy of prickly wild berry leaves and buds. The scent reminds me of the berry bushes that thrive on the country roads around where I live. Not a sweet marmalade juice, but instead a kind of frozen berry salad, slightly wild, dark, sour. Fortunately, it keeps its distance from fruity and exotic territory. Also, it might smell a bit medicinal, but that scent doesn't bother me.

In the middle stage, I pick what appears to be a white flower with a greenish tinge. It's jasmine but smells slightly like lily, more bitter than sweet. It is there throughout the life of this fragrance. This floral accord and the nuance of green leaves create a bridge between the initial sour note of berries and the final musky trail. Inside More & Musk, there are more berries than musks. The fruit in this perfume continues to stretch and expand. The smell of ripe blueberries on a light musk base. It's not juicy or sweet, nor is it earthy and musky.

Approaching the dry-down, the creamy soapy musk finally takes the stage with the berries, and together, it's as if they sing in unison. The blackberries are slightly musky, and the musk takes on that unique blackberry shade. They seem made for each other. More & Musk is musky, of course, a little fruity. It's a delicate, soft berry scent that's not overpoweringly sweet. Mossy whispers with berry undertones last many hours and days on clothes and paper strips. The oakmoss exudes a little dirt, and the white musk feels neither animal nor holey. Instead, it is close to the green and musty vegetable carpet that grows on the damp ground where the sun does not shine. The essence melts on the skin and creates a natural, sexy and intriguing BO veil. The musks are satin-smooth, sensual and lightly scented with powdery coumarin, gradually revealing woody notes and peppery nuances. Any acidity in the fragrance settles down and becomes tamer, verging on berry but not cloyingly sweet.

There's little to no projection. It's intimate, but this thing lasts a solid six hours on my skin and lingers around me so that other close people can sense it. This perfume is more suitable for warm seasons. Mure et Musc is also acceptable in winter, but the best time to wear it is on cool spring and summer days until late autumn, thanks to the note of green leaves that breaks the classic blackberry-moss pattern. In my mind, it recalls rainy days, cool spring mornings, and autumn twilights. I can now admit that I am indescribably in love with this perfume.

I'm basing my sensations on a bottle I've owned since May 2023.
