The perfume starts on my skin with a leathery note. I can understand some statements saying that it is reminiscent of a plastic smell; I would attribute it to leather. This note is constantly in my nose for about half an hour until it fades. However, it remains on my skin for a little longer.
Then the cloud of fragrance I'm sitting in becomes sweet, spicy and the vanilla becomes perceptible. It really is a very nice sillage. The dominant fragrance notes for me are incense and vanilla. The incense note is not oppressive or penetrating, but adds spice and sweetness to the whole. However, just because it's incense doesn't mean it's smoky. On the skin, the incense is more extreme and I find it more pleasant in the sillage.
In the drydown, I also notice a slightly woody note, but not as strong. The sweetness also becomes a little less and I find it a little more bitter.
I wore the perfume for about 7 hours until I took a shower in the evening. Until then, the perfume was still clearly perceptible. It has a good shelf life.
I only spray perfume on my skin, so the leathery opening is not a problem for me. However, I don't know what it's like if you spray the perfume on your clothes. Maybe it's better to test it on the skin.
I also don't know "Le Vestiaire - Babycat | Yves Saint Laurent" and therefore can't make a comparison. I've read here that
Rifaaqat is supposed to be sweeter in the drydown than Babycat. If that is the case, I am completely satisfied with this perfume. To be honest, I would like it less sweet.
It is somehow a comforting, cozy perfume. But as I mentioned in my statement, you have to like incense, because it is very present.
