A Coffee Scent That Stands Out from the Crowd
"Date Caramel" is a fragrance that I was able to test right after its release.
It is supposed to be an alternative to "Sticky Dates | Lush / Cosmetics To Go," which I haven't tested yet. Therefore, I was even more curious about what to expect.
Right after spraying it, I was surprised.
The first and most intense note I perceive is licorice. A scent of sweet wood and anise that reminds me of a very sweet licorice stick. I've noticed this phenomenon with other fragrances that have coffee and caramel in the top notes. For my nose, this combo seems to create a licorice note.
This note remains present but softens as the coffee with a slight roasted aroma becomes more prominent. This coffee accord also has something of coffee liqueur for me - slightly boozy, but also extremely sweet, creamy, and rich.
Added to this are dates and oranges. The orange gives the fragrance a fruity nuance, while the dates add extra sweetness.
It is difficult to describe Date Caramel as the notes blend perfectly together.
When I spray it, I feel it has a certain density or a kind of "thick" consistency, which I would describe similarly to caramel syrup if that comparison makes sense.
The fragrance is relatively linear and changes little from the opening to the dry down.
Coffee, juicy dates, and very sweet sticky caramel dominate the entire scent progression.
The longevity is very good. With just a few sprays, I perceive it intensely for many hours. In the first hour, the sillage is above average strong.
The price-performance ratio is also top-notch, as the fragrance is now available at a low price. The value you get for it is almost unbeatable.
Date Caramel is a unisex fragrance with a tendency towards the feminine, but it can also be worn well by a man who enjoys very sweet gourmands.
I liked the fragrance immediately because it stands out from the crowd of other coffee scents. The sweetness of caramel and dates combined with coffee creates a very delicious gourmand.
The very good performance also convinced me right away, so a bottle was allowed to join my collection.
Even if you like coffee fragrances, I would still recommend not buying Date Caramel blindly, but testing it first, as I believe it differs from other coffee scents.
