Indian Incense Sticks
I really like the scent itself, but as a perfume (pure) it is a bit too sweet and too reminiscent of incense sticks in an Indian restaurant. I can definitely smell cinnamon as well.
I would have sorted it out already, until the idea came to me (as always) to layer. I thought ginger could help.
Then I smelled my test strip of TangerinePearl from the same brand that was still lying there from yesterday: that could work! And funny enough: one of the 3 listed fragrance notes is even ginger.
Now I have both scents layered on my neck and a single spritz of each on my wrists, which I sniff alternately/side by side, lying in the (not Indian) (Lower Bavarian) sun on the balcony and feeling really good...
The layering makes the "wood scent" more sparkling and late-summer fresh, just right for this last day of August - and the last "vacation day" before it starts again tomorrow. Just me alone on the balcony - to enjoy... (Along with an iced coffee with salted caramel ice cream and a few grapes - a dream...)
(In the morning, among people, there was a whiff of Chance Eau Fraîche Eau de Toilette with also Perroy: IvorySky - but that has already faded and no longer distorts the new layering... It was great as a morning scent.)
Oh oh - a wasp also seems to really like the scent.. It comes by occasionally, circles around my neck twice, but after realizing that there is nothing but fragrance, it buzzes away again..
In any case, I had gotten the mood palette with 2.5ml of each scent from the series to have some time to try them out. It will probably stay with these samples, but for now, I'm enjoying it...
... The GoldFawn lasts longer in its durability and strength than the sprightliness of the TangerinePearl (which is not surprising), but even in the drydown, the tangerine rounds off the GoldFawn nicely. You might need to re-spray the tangerine. (If you want to wear it like I do.) The composition remains quite one-dimensional (in terms of development), but that doesn't matter: through the layering, I already have enough "movement" in it.
Enjoy the sun!
PS: Layered with La Vie est Belle Vanille Nude it is also good, the two have something similar (both are actually "unbearable" on their own), but they neutralize the unpleasantness of each other, leaving just a hint of beauty (spice tea? - without milk! with licorice).
But my favorite is the combination with the fruity tangerine.
