Sunscreen with a Fig Touch
When you read the title of my review and compare it to my rating, you might think that I'm not quite right....
I thought the same when I first sniffed "MahoganySun | Perroy," which reached me as a bonus in a recent sharing. Normally, I can't handle very sweet, creamy scents; only a few special vanilla fragrances are members of my collection. This scent doesn't seem to fit my usual preferences at all. But:
I sniff the tissue that I sprayed, and BAM: I'm back in Mallorca on vacation in 2023, and I have a really bad sunburn because I fell asleep alone by the pool. My ear, neck, and back hurt intensely, and I'm almost crying. My friend grabs me, and off we go to the pharmacy.
The nice owner hands me a tube of ointment as I stammer in my school Spanish that I need something for sunburn, and he says in perfect German: "Please only apply 2 times a day and very thinly, there's cortisone in it. But it will get better, don't worry."
MahoganySun smells just like this sunscreen ointment. Like a delicate, beautiful sunscreen with a fruity touch. MahoganySun starts with sweet, juicy fig and a very slight hint of vanilla. However, vanilla is only subtly detectable in the background. In the base, the fruitiness of the fig remains, and a creamy sweetness, probably Tiaré, is added. From then on, the vanilla completely disappears. The delicious "fig cream" stays on my skin; that's all I need to be happy.
The scent lasts a very long time. After the tissue test, I sprayed it on my wrist in the evening and could still faintly smell the creamy fig the next morning. The scent trail isn't overwhelming, but a scent bubble of half an arm's length is definitely present for 2-3 hours; later, it becomes more intimate. In the height of summer, it's also pleasant when you don't want to be overwhelmed by a perfume in the heat.
I am very grateful to Msblanche for allowing me to get to know this scent. I will avoid sunburn in the future, but MahoganySun is welcome to stay.
