Gingerbread House

This is warm and cozy fragrance that can bring you back to your childhood and winter holidays. The spice, molasses, and vanilla makes it feel a bit like booze at the beginning, like a nice spiced rum. This fragrance has depth that you don't typically smell in other gourmand fragrances, its well balanced. This would be a good gourmand for people who want to start trying that genre of scents. It lasted about 6 hours on my skin and it projected really well throughout that time. A 57ml will cost you $205 but thankfully Pineward offers a variety of sizes because $205 is a lot unless you are truly in love with this fragrance. A 4ml for $20 would be something I am willing to pay. It is a limited scent, so it only sells in Autumn.

Gorgeous realistic gingerbread

This opens a little overly sharp, but once it settles into the skin for a few minutes it softens into a gorgeous gingerbread cookie. Once it settles, it's quite linear, which is entirely appropriate for this sort of scent.

This thankfully isn't an overly sweet gourmand: it's all about the heavy spices and buttery wheat, with a balanced dose of dark sugar. The inclusion of the wheat absolute is brilliant, and grounds the spices and sugar in an almost savory note.

I adored Jo Malone's Ginger Biscuit but couldn't justify it for the price:performance ratio, and Pineward's rendition of gingerbread has excellent performance for a much more reasonable price tag -- especially since Pineward offers small bottle sizes, which I appreciate as someone with a large collection. Alas, no cute stripey bow from Pineward.
