The best tobacco I've smelled
Treacle has got most of the ingredients I truly love. Moreover, it's almost a perfect combination to blend in a perfume for me. Tea, pipe tobacco, smoke, spices, a pinch of sweetness. Although I'm not a big fan of drinking Lapsang Souchong Tea, I absolutely love this ingredient in perfumes. The scent itself reminds me a bit of good old Laphroaig 10 YO.

Both longevity and projection are outstanding.

Wow. This is f...in wow!

Cloying Spiced Molasses and Raisins
This is someone smoking a sticky tobacco in a pipe while you are making gingerbread cookies in the kitchen. This starts smokey with the tobacco but eases into a spiced molasses and sweet raisin scent. This is dark and heavy the entire time you are wearing it, it borderline is cloying. It is unique in the sense that the raisin note is easily recognizable. It instantly reminded my of opening a little red box of Sun Maid Raisins. This is a dark liquid fragrance that stains skin and clothing.

This fragrance had really strong projection, spray lightly unless you are into the cloying spice and sweet fragrances. This also lasted all day, over 7 hours on my skin. There are various sizes and prices available starting at 4ml for $20, 17ml for $80, 37ml for $135, and 57ml for $205.

High-intensity, a bit off the beaten path, a tougher still but very interesting
Sampling Pineward Perfumes Treacle, probably the most intense offering from the house that I’ve tried so far, with listed notes of tobacco, lapsang souchong tea, molasses, raisin, and honey, with (I believe) the lapsang souchong tea being the foremost contributor. Overall it somehow is both intensely sweet and intensely spicy, almost animalic, and pushes the extremes on both ends. Half of it leans toward the cinnamon sweetness of a cinnamon bun; the other half is a resinous spiciness to the point of nearly smelling like gasoline/petrol.

Its opening is very powerful but it does calm down a little bit and is a little bit easier on the nose, overall, after a couple hours of wearing, but I still find it to be most challenging, probably most daring entry in the line, but overall still well put together, just a like, not a love, though.

Treacle is priced at $135/80 for 37/17ml like the rest of the line, not cheap but for dense juice, well crafted, and neatly engraved bottles, the line’s pricing remains reasonable to me in the current market.

Moist and Smoky Tobacco
Treacle from Pineward Perfume. I find this one to be a unique take on the Tobacco genre. Some people compare it to Jeke from Slumberhouse, but I get none of that. This one was a little too much when I first tried it several years ago. It felt rather rough and smoky in the opening, albeit the dry-down was quite manageable. With time, I got used to the introduction, and now I thoroughly enjoy that smoky Lapsang and Raisin combo that opens up the fragrance. It is quite a punch, especially if your regular tobacco kick comes from perfumes like Naxos, Herod, Vanille Havane, and Co. Moreover, many artisanal tobacco perfumes feel rather meek by comparison.

It opens up very smoky and tacky. The smokiness comes from the combination of Lapsang Tea (very well captured) and the raisin absolute. The tobacco accord feels moist, almost like chewed tobacco leaves. If you know those Cowboy movies where they munch on tobacco and spit it out. That's how I picture the tobacco accord in Treacle. The aroma is full-bodied and rich. The raisin renders a slightly dried fruit quality, although it shouldn't scare people who don't like this dried fruit dessert (I love it) off. The honey and the molasses create this viscous sensation, hence the name. It is a thick perfume. And sweet also. However, I find the sweetness well kept in check by the other accords. As it dries down, the smokiness dissipates while the gooey texture shifts toward a more powdery one. I don't know what gives off that powderiness (perhaps the resins), but it gets dusty on my skin, leaving a soft, warm trail of powdery tobacco adorned with honey, lapsang, and soft fruity nuances.

It is a solid tobacco perfume that is worth checking out for lovers of this genre. Also unique, which is a big bonus.

Top tobacco!
Treacle is the most realistic tobacco I've ever smelled. It is heavy, thick and dark scent. You are hit with a smokiness, which comes from the lapsang souchong tea and a cloud of sweetness of honey and molasses makes it slightly warm and cozy.

The performance is out of this world - the longevity is enormous, the juice will stick to your skin all day.

Watch out your clothes while applying the fragrance.
