80s Barbershop Bluebloods
My predecessor is absolutely right: no matter how noble the name sounds - "Château Philipp" is a more modern 80s barbershop lavender. So, if over the years you became a fan of the Stuttgart fragrance wizards and used to reach for masculinity multipliers like "Drakkar Noir," "Caesars Man," "Sung Homme," or "Taxi," you have discovered your more refined twist on this cool, albeit somewhat outdated subgenre.

Essentially a soapy-sweet, synthetic lavender - as if you’ve thrown neon shoulder pads over the famous scent and let it talk with its red blinking car. I love the 80s, I liked this direction for a while, but nowadays none of the representatives are in my collection anymore. I can't handle them as well anymore, I prefer things to be more high-quality, finer, and more natural. It sounds snobbish, but that's how it is, and it's purely a matter of taste. If you've been a Drakkar fan your whole life, you definitely have good taste and can't go wrong, you're confident and sexy as the 80s. However, I only had a brief phase in this direction. Trying is better than studying.

Bottle: the castle masters focus more on the contents.
Sillage & durability: both more than satisfactory, noticeable, lasting - 6-8 hours.

Conclusion: the castle perfumery bows to the old sea dog "Drakkar Noir" - a neon lavender between punk and disco.

Chateau Drakkar
Last year, during one of my purchases at the Schlossparfümerie Stuttgart, I received a sample of Chateau Philipp as a bonus. On that day, I bought "Ombre Indigo" and "Le Vetiver" by Lubin, my first fragrances outside of the mainstream. Therefore, in my excitement over the new scents, I forgot about the samples of CP and also "Riviera Sport" (a fresh-woody, elegant fragrance) and "P-100 Jubilée".

Recently, they resurfaced, and I tested them:

These and other fragrances are produced by M. Micaleff for the SP. Some of them are slightly streamlined or no longer available scents from the Micaleff collection.

CP was - I was told - created according to the specifications of Phillip Wolff.

It starts with an explosion of top notes, consisting of hesperides, herbs (here rosemary and plenty of coriander), and lavender.
This is then additionally supported in the heart note by geranium and stronger jasmine. Altogether, this results in a very strong presence.
The base rounds off this fragrance, which consists of almost too many ingredients, with woody notes (sandalwood and cedar), coniferous notes, and patchouli.

For those who have been reading carefully and possess olfactory imagination, you now know what this fragrance reminds you of, no, what it must remind you of:

DRAKKAR NOIR

one of the quite successful hits from the 70s, for which Guy Laroche was known. However, it must be noted that CP comes across as significantly finer and more elegant and does not have that herbal shower gel note of DN after the reformulation. Anyone wanting more information can visit the Drakkar Noir page

http://www.parfumo.de/Parfums/Guy_Laroche/Drakkar_Noir

Genre: More elegant copy of Drakkar Noir

For: Naturally men with chest hair and mustaches, what else?

Sillage and longevity: Strong and 8-10 hours

Status: Certainly not the best from the Schlossparfümerie line, I recommend testing P-100 Jubilée

http://www.parfumo.de/Parfums/Schlossparfumerie/P_100_Jubilee

A very nice scent made in the style of CP with incense and oud in a classic-modern orientation

The fragrances are, to my knowledge, only available in Stuttgart.
