Cloudy Moss for the Beauty!
I have only been to Stuttgart once in my life, but I had not heard of this perfumery before. The Schlossparfumerie Wolff & Sohn existed for over 100 years, attempted its own creations since the turn of the millennium, and closed its doors last summer. How I smell here, well, very much to my regret. Because the quality and style (at least of this creation) remind me a lot of Parfumos Parfumerie der Herzen: Harry Lehmann.
What you get here is a merciless Chypre overload: plenty of moss, until it oozes out of my ears, bitter wilted flower petals are pressed in further. Rose appears herbaceous, not sweet at all.
A surprisingly modern-looking molecular musk note spreads a fluffy, cloudy blanket that I am ready to fall into.
Surprisingly, I perceive no heaviness, and Pour la belle reveals itself to be as little old-fashioned as Chypres can be for my nose. Because this one has nothing dusty about it, no attic mustiness, rather the scent of crisp green, fresh branches.
Bergamot and Ylang Ylang perhaps lighten this fragrance a bit, but are not independently perceivable, probably just providing fine calibration.
The theme of this scent is the moss, which presents itself as a light, airy breeze.
When the fragrance settles in the base, a pleasant veil forms that makes every lady appear approachable and familiar.
Indeed, one of the most likable ones from the Chypre category, which definitely receives too little attention here in the forum.
Thanks to Mörderbiene for the great travel letter that allowed me to get to know it.
