The Sparkling Homebrew Refreshment for All Occasions
I still remember well when I received a sample of this fragrance.
I sprayed Rosso Pompei on my wrist for the first time and was a bit skeptical at first..... a initially biting scent, wrapped in a sparkling-sour framework, that screams for attention.
Well, I thought, the fragrance has something about it that I haven't smelled before, and that's really exciting.
During the second test, I knew what to expect in the opening and was prepared. The scent seemed much more complex to me, especially the grapefruit and the grape were very identifiable, and it was particularly the grape that made this fragrance so special for me in the opening. The scent felt like a sparkling, yet not too sweet, refreshing drink that I couldn't get enough of. The combination with the woody notes likely ensures that the fragrance remains somewhat dry and slightly sour, which I really like.
With this fragrance, I imagine sitting on the veranda of a great wine bar in Italy on a beautiful, sunny day with a view of the sea. In this wine bar, they have created a kind of "lemonade," known among connoisseurs as "homebrew," made with fresh, hand-picked Sicilian grapefruits and Amalfi grapes. The drink is enhanced, in addition to the fresh fruit and sparkling water from the nearby spring, with a dash of salt to give the composition a bit more sparkle.... the rest is, according to the owner's response, a secret.
Since I now own a full bottle, I don't want to be without it anymore. I wear the fragrance for almost all occasions and seasons, except maybe in the depths of winter. Whether in my free time with colleagues, shopping, dining out, or even in the office..... it is well-received everywhere. It is also the only fragrance in my collection that I've been approached about multiple times, and I find that somehow nice.
The bottle, with its red color and the golden, solid cap with beautiful embellishments, is a real gem.
The longevity & sillage of this fragrance are absolutely top-notch, which I also expect from a fragrance in this price range.

I look forward to wearing this fragrance until the end of autumn and will be visibly happy after the coming winter when I can return to that Italian wine bar with this wonderful and unique "homebrew lemonade"!

The Fog - Mist of Sensuality
After having written a few statements and feeling quite comfortable with these minimalist summaries, I would like to try my hand at a review.
I chose "40 Knots" because I recently tested it and it simply thrilled me. Furthermore, it combines many elements that I find appealing.
Right after spraying, this familiar aroma immediately greets me, a hint of that commercially very successful drink. Yes, I smell like cola!
In the opening, however, this scent note is underlined by a certain saltiness, a breeze from the sea that conjures up some very nice images in my mind. Be it the beach bar where I sip a cool, spicy cola alone, with the salty aroma in the air merging with the refreshing drink. Be it the Cuba Libre that I enjoy with friends on a starry summer night on a porch near the sea, which we mixed from the finest components and which, due to its already considerable spiciness, has found the perfect balance between zest and sweetness, garnished with a finely tuned saltiness that lies in the beautiful sea air.
Yes, this fine, mostly invisible, and slightly salty mist lays itself with absolute precision over the entire scent progression. You can sense it, but it does not impose itself. It weaves the scent components into a magnificent experience, using its mystical aura to present us with a total work of art. This mist serves us an absolutely sensual fragrance that I cannot get enough of…… and when the mist lifts in the morning, it mysteriously reappears in the evening to complete its work!
