Here is the second installment to the scent Beaver fragrance from Zoologist. I really enjoyed the first one, so I was curious to see that beaver was heading to a more gourmand route. It makes sense, the brand is from Canada, so bring on the maple!

The opening was very confusing to me. I couldn't tell what I was smelling. Vetiver was a main player mixed with a sweetened cedar and kumquat. The rest of the notes were buried. But after an hour, the scent on my skin morphed into only what I could call, freezer burn. I have never gotten that from a scent before. On my clothing it was a very green scent with a hint of sweetened cocoa and carrot.

After about four hours, the scent remained the same, but very weak. On my skin, I still smelled like a freezer burned loaf of bread but with a hint of green. On my clothing it was a bit more interesting. Very green with a hint of sugary cedar.

After 4.5 to 5 hours, this had become a skin scent but on my clothing it was still present within my scent bubble. The skin scent was still a sweet freezer burned Slurpee, while on my lapel, it was still a light green scent, but the notes weren't very clear.

To be honest, I don't know what I think about this scent. The notes for me were very muddled and nothing really popped on my chemistry except for freezer burn. Not my ideal. Also, it the longevity wasn't that great for me making Maple Beaver a no go for me.

If I had to rank this one, it would most likely be a 5 out of 10. I had high hopes for this one, but in the end, the original worked much better on my chemistry.
