Smells like home
My initial impression is savory from the sesame and popcorn (it’s not buttery at all) but the sweetness from the honey comes out, especially on the skin. There’s also something musky but still clean.
Everything melds together in the dry down to something that feels familiar and nostalgic. It reminds me of the smell of a loved one’s home; the smells of cooking, of laundry, of life all coming together to create a unique scent that you instantly recognize.
This is one of my favorites from the Narici discovery scent - it’s unique and unlike anything I’ve ever smelled, and yet I can see a lot of people enjoying it.

Not the tea and cake I was promised but lovely nonetheless
The opening is very aromatic and a bit vegetal from the clary sage (and maybe carrot?) which I’m not a huge fan of, however while the clary sage never really goes away it eventually recedes and allows the other notes to come through. I don’t find the pepper overwhelming here as it can be in some scents. The bergamot and florals are very soft, none really stand out. Eventually it dries down to a soft milky sandalwood and tea, just a little sweet, with a whisper of spice.
The dry down reminds me a lot of Oxygène (perhaps unsurprising as it shares almost all of Oxygene’s notes), but significantly less floral and more aromatic.
I wouldn’t compare this at all to earl grey or a London fog, the citrus is hardly noticeable and there’s no vanilla.
I also don’t really get any distinct carrot notes or carrot cake scent. At times there is something “rooty” to me which may be the carrot, the orris, or both. I do think I sense a bit of dusty earthy orris but it isn’t prominent.
It’s also got pretty good lasting power and I could still smell it on a sweater days later, even through another perfume sprayed over it.

Clean cozy musk
Perfect Veil is primarily a powdery white musk scent with a hint of warmth and sweetness from the vanilla. The vanilla isn’t strong and I don’t really notice the lemon at all. There is something a little vintage about it, not like a powdery floral from your grandmother’s youth, but more like I can imagine my mom wearing this in the 90s, enveloping me in a cloud of sweet musk when she gives me a hug. It feels clean, comforting, and nostalgic and makes for a perfect bedtime scent.

Cherry lollipop and patchouli
According to the perfumer, this scent stated with a cherry lollipop accord and that’s primarily what I get. The cherry is unlike that of most cherry perfumes on the market. It smells more like cherry chapstick and those cheap lollipops that have a little loop instead of a stick. The patchouli adds a bit of a camphorous aroma that makes it a tinge medicinal but overall Amerena is quite candied, sweet & syrupy. I don’t really notice the rose here, which is a shame because I love rose and it’s the “hero ingredient” of the scent. At first sniff I wasn’t a fan of this but as I wear it I want to keep sniffing. It’s quite addictive and fun. It’s also a pretty bold scent with decent sillage and longevity. To me this is a party girl kind of scent, for a girl who wants to have fun and make an impression but doesn’t particularly care if everyone likes her.

1% vanilla / 99% cedar
This isn’t a woody vanilla, it’s a vanilla-y wood and even that’s a stretch. The opening is about 30 seconds of a resinous tobacco and vanilla that I actually do enjoy, definitely in the vein of The Architects Club. But then all of that disappears and it’s just cedar, as if my wrist has transformed into a plank of freshly cut wood. I even applied it over Vanilla Musk Perfume Oil and the cedar completely drowned out the vanilla. To be fair, cedar is one of those notes that just tends to go strong on me or to my nose, and once I smell it I can’t shake the Home Depot association. Obviously others have had very different experiences with this one. But for me, it’s a no. I’ll probably give it another try to see if I can find the magic and then declutter my sample.
