A cool iris-forward floral
I’ve been loving iris lately, all of the notes in this sounded appealing, and it’s relatively affordable on discount sites so I blind bought and I wasn’t disappointed. At first it’s a very straightforward dry, kind of powdery iris, not quite a “make-up” or “lipsticky” iris but also not an earthy iris. There’s also a cold quality to it, something with a slight edge and depth that I assume to be the ink note. Something about the opening also reminds me of pencils - wood and graphite - in the best way. As it settles it becomes more generically “perfumey”, a sweet inoffensive floral. (Parfumo also lists cedar and jasmine in the notes, which I’m inclined to believe.) The opening iris and ink sticks around enough for it to still be unique for me while still being an easy to wear scent that wouldn’t be “weird” or challenging for people who aren’t as far down the niche rabbit hole as some of us.
I also think it’s versatile. The cool iris and ink make it feel apt for cool and cloudy weather, but the sweet floral notes make it feel equally appropriate for a spring day. It could easily be an office fragrance but is pretty enough for a date night and soothing enough for a cozy day in.
I’ve been trying a ton of iris fragrances lately, including some more niche and very pricy ones, and this is one of my favorites (for reference some other loves are
Molecule 01 + Iris ,
White Rice,
Iris Malikhân,
English Major Extrait de Parfum,
Lipstick Fever,
Gris Charnel Eau de Parfum).
If you’re into the notes and enjoy a designer fragrance, this might be a safe blind buy for you too.

Soft spicy powder scent
Suganami is a gorgeous soft powdery scent that feels clean without feeling sterile or soapy. The musk, iris, myrrh, and angelica are the notes that stand out the most to me. The iris and musk create a cosmetic powder scent that’s warmed up by the spices and resins and sweetened just a hint by the angelica and rose. This could be worn anytime and definitely falls into the skin scent category for me - where you just smell clean and good without smelling like perfume. My only complaint is that I wish it were stronger and longer lasting.
Slightly fruity lipstick scent
This is such a fun concept for a fragrance with a great execution. The raspberry brings a bit of sweetness and lift to the composition but isn’t tart or candy-like. It really does have a waxy feel reminiscent of a scented lipstick. I normally don’t like berry/fruit notes so I appreciate that it’s present but subtle. The real star here is a buttery orris, the perfect powdery lipstick-y kind of iris that I love. It feels ladylike but still fun and appropriate for just about any occasion. I actually like this better than
Lipstick Rose, which was lovely but more rose than lipstick for me. I never had the chance to try the mythical
Lipstick On but for now this has satisfied my lipstick fragrance cravings.

This is a near-perfect iris for me. I’ve fallen in love with iris but in so many Iris fragrances it’s overpowered by other notes, like leather, woods, or aromatics. I like it best when it’s cosmetic and lipstick-y but appreciate an earthy iris/orris, too. This iteration has the cosmetic iris I love but a hint of earthiness too, as well as slight woodiness from the ISO E super. It feels clean without being sterile, unisex, and versatile enough to work in almost any situation. I also think it might be useful to layer with some of the other iris scents I have to amp up the iris notes. My only complaint is that I wish it was stronger. This is very much a skin scent with low sillage that disappears halfway through the day. Still, it’s more affordable that many other scents so I can afford to spritz with abandon. I quickly used up a sample of this, will be upgrading to a travel size, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is one that I end up getting a full bottle of.
Creamy clean pear and powder scented skin
I was pretty put off by this at first. I thought it smelled like green jolly ranchers and baby powder, an odd combo and much too fruity and green for my preferences. But after a couple of minutes it dried down to a lovely lotion-like scent. It truly smells like soft, clean, skin. It’s fast becoming a favorite among my collection of samples. It makes me curious to try other scents from the brand - like Yawahada, many of them sound almost appealing to me based on the notes list but contain something that puts me off. I’m glad I took a risk on this one and I will be upsizing to a travel size once I finish my sample.
