I know that one!
For the expansion of my collection, I received a sample of Tabac Rouge today. Written in small letters underneath is "Turkish Blend," and of course, I became curious since I come from Turkey myself. Hmm, how does Turkish tobacco smell? I sprayed it on and...

Wrong filling? No, it can't be; it's in the original sample box.
People, the scent is exactly the same for me as Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille!
I gave it some time, thinking it would change. The sweetness like in TV is also strongly present here and remains, a bit to my disappointment.
I at least hoped that the tobacco would dominate more, as I would have preferred that.

Instead of dried fruits, honey is listed in the fragrance pyramid, but my nose can't distinguish between vanilla, dried fruits, and honey.
As I said, for me, both scents smell the same, both well-made, with very good longevity and sillage.

If you like this direction, then just take the cheaper of the two.

Less would have been more
First of all; Tobacco Vanille has style! A very elegant, sensually warm scent for the cold days. I find it to be the best from the Private Blend line, alongside Noir de Noir. All the other fragrances were not really to my taste. What bothers me a bit is the pronounced sweetness, which overshadows the wonderful tobacco notes. It surely comes from the vanilla, but also from the dried fruits. The latter could have been left out in my opinion. Less would have been more here. I like the smell of tobacco and would have wished for more presence of this note in the case of TV.

The longevity is very good and the sillage is strong. I like the scent, but I am torn and considering whether I should buy it. I will only decide once my sample is used up.

An Old Baroque Armchair
I enter a room. The light is dimmed. In the corner stands an armchair. I approach this armchair and only upon closer inspection do I realize that it is a very old, but well-preserved Baroque armchair. With beautiful embellishments and a leather covering, it is very appealing to me. The wood is not golden or silver but made of dark wood. I sit down and notice how hard the upholstery is. Not particularly comfortable, but it’s about the feeling, and I feel transported to another time. I take out my cigar and remember that I still need to finish reading Shakespeare's Hamlet... Duro evokes these associations in me. I must mention that it bears a resemblance to Epic Man for me, but here the woods and leather clearly dominate. The spice serves to ensure that the scent does not come across as too dry, and the medicinal oud note is nowhere near as overwhelming as, for example, Black Aoud by Montale. Duro hits exactly my taste. Just missing the Baroque armchair...

Very hard to get used to
So today I received a decant of Interlude Man, which I had been eagerly waiting for. Well, I must say, I am not thrilled and not at all surprised by this new Amouage! Because for me, it has similarities to Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford, and I didn't like that repulsive leather scent in TL either. And as Profumo said, Interlude does not seem as rich to me as the previous Amouage fragrances. I also find it too one-dimensional! The bottle is probably the most beautiful part of it all, but the content does not match it at all!

I am indeed an Amouage fan, but I don't want to smell like this. It's a shame, as I hope something better comes out next year.

For the Elegant Gentleman
Finally, I own Dia!
I tested it long enough and I knew I had to have it someday. Dia Man has a dry quality that I can't quite describe. Yes, the metallic note that some describe, I smell it too, but only in the first few seconds after spraying and I don't find it bothersome at all. Cardamom and the plum blossom, yes, delightful! Dia Man becomes increasingly smoky over time and I also perceive the leather in the base note.

Dia Man is not a blockbuster like Gold or Epic; it is rather a subtle Amouage, (if one can even call any fragrance from Amouage subtle) that I think can be worn at any time. Still, I will only use it for special occasions, as it feels too elegant and refined for everyday wear. I find the longevity good, but not outstanding.

In any case, Amouage Dia is an exceedingly successful fragrance that, while it doesn't have a significant development, does it need to? No, what smells good at the beginning doesn't have to change.

Amouage Dia, a special fragrance for the elegant gentleman.
