Christmas in a bottle
I went to the Christmas market in Frankfurt at the weekend. Crowded, cramped and exhausting, but it's just a must during the Advent season. That's how my girlfriend sees it. And I'd been wanting to go back to the city on the Main for a long time, as a certain perfumery there had been appealing to me for a long time - Parfümerie Albrecht. So we made the compromise that we would both have fun on the trip!
They had all sorts of niche fragrances that you very rarely find in stores, but I mainly wanted to try the creations from Parfums d'Elmar. I also knew that my girlfriend is a huge fan of Angels' Share, but never wanted to buy it because she just can't understand the prices of this "hobby" (lucky her...).
But since I had already read and heard a lot about the similarity of the Zayas to the Angels' Share, I thought that she might also find what she was looking for.
So we tested all sorts and, as expected, she ended up with Zaya. She just loves this fragrance and immediately had a smile on her face, even more so than when I tried Angels' Share. And I also think it's a tad better, a little smoother and simply more pleasant on the nose (and my head), especially at the beginning.
I'm not an absolute expert, I can't smell every single ingredient and can give you thousands of associations and scents here. I can't really smell the baked apple, but for me it's simply Christmas in a bottle. Warm, spicy, cozy and simply delicious, perfect for the Christmas season.
She struggled so much with whether to buy it, but it was just too much money for her. All the better for me, the first Christmas present is now ticked off. :)

My personal favorite perfume
Sometimes you deal with topics for months, read up on them and then things turn out quite differently than expected.
When I went into the only niche perfumery in my area, I was expecting anything, but not that I would be so blown away by this fragrance of all things.
The fragrance notes didn't really appeal to me that much... I always thought that I was more into more youthful perfumes and assumed that I would find what I was looking for at Xerjoff or PDM.
But when I smelled Oud Republic, the day was more or less over for me. I knew no one else would be able to match it.
So pleasant, warm, seductive and simply special. I couldn't help but spend the rest of the day sniffing my left wrist again, I was hooked.
Two weeks later, I was finally able to call it my own, despite the very proud price. But I will never regret it and it will probably remain my absolute favorite fragrance for a very long time.
