Plum Preserved
I have tested the scent as a sample and now tried it on my skin a few times.
At first, I always perceive fruit, plum that partly reminds me of very dark, preserved cherries. The plum itself is not fresh from the fruit stand, but rather those halved plums in a jar - if anyone knows what I mean.
Shortly after the fruity opening, I notice an alcoholic note.
When I first tested it on paper, it was cognac as indicated in the fragrance pyramid; on skin, it is more of a non-smoky whisky from the Highlands.
However, I don't always perceive this alcoholic note; it may depend on the day.
Spices like cardamom and nutmeg are always detectable, but they play more of a background role.
The vanilla is also generally noticeable from the beginning, although not very pronounced.

The woody notes are consistently synthetic - unfortunately - and become clearly perceptible after 15-20 minutes.
Overall, not much happens on my skin. A rather linear scent without significant development. The only interesting aspect is whether and when vanilla or cognac/whisky will show up.

The plum lasts forever and can still be smelled on the skin after 12 hours.

Towards the end, and we're talking several hours after application, a slight powderiness joins in, and the scent becomes a bit creamier/cozier.

The scent gives me distant L'Homme Idéal Guerlain vibes - without being comparable.

Conclusion: A fruit bomb that lasts long but somehow also comes across as quite interchangeable/indifferent.

Risk-Free Introduction
Some time ago, I ordered the Discovery Set directly from the Marlou Online Shop.
After writing my review of the Marlou Top Tier Ambilux yesterday, I will now share my thoughts on Corpalium.
While Ambilux makes no compromises and is probably the fragrance that best captures animalic notes or the scent of raw, human instincts among the scents I have worn so far* - Corpalium takes a different approach.
(*that is, of all...not just Marlou fragrances)

The opening here is distinctly alcoholic and "salty".
Salt is, of course, olfactorily difficult to grasp...but I detect a salty note here (as well as in Ambilux and the other Marlou fragrances). Salty-human, to narrow it down a bit.
The alcoholic note fades quite quickly and a hint of rose or a floral touch joins in.

After about half an hour, I perceive tobacco. Tobacco from a rather mild cigar, not lit and freshly taken from the humidor. There are already first hints of cedar.

What stands out to me much more and does not appeal to me at all is a distinctly synthetic note, which from now on and until the end, does not leave the skin.
I am not entirely sure what causes this...but I would guess "Ambrette", a synthetic musk scent.

Alongside cedar, which is now clearly perceptible, lovage or a kind of Maggi accord comes to the forefront. This is also noticeable until the end.
Linalool could be responsible for this...fenugreek somehow as well...but I am not quite sure about that.
Very faintly and only very rarely, I detect a kind of burnt cable/singed rubber in my nose, but really only very faintly and hardly worth mentioning.
Towards the end, I perceive a bit of patchouli.

Overall, I find Corpalium to be significantly more accessible and suitable for everyday wear than, for example, Ambilux. And alongside Canicure, it is certainly a recommendable introduction to the fragrance world of Marlou.

However, what I somewhat miss or hardly perceive is the animalic-human aspect. Unfortunately.
It is...very faintly present...yes...but for me, it is not really part of the DNA.
This piercing synthetic note actually bothers me a lot; I cannot tune it out, nor does it disappear on its own.
In my personal ranking of the 4 Marlou fragrances, it only makes it to 4th place.

cirque de la nuit
Sunday. 05:30 am morning. In the train station tunnel, the neon tubes flicker and unnecessarily chill this place. No one around.
My own footsteps break the silence, barely filling the emptiness.
It smells sharply human down here.
The night people and those who don’t want to be seen even during the day leave their messages here.
Non-place, toilet, yet home.
Hands glide over bodies, the beat penetrates thoughts::timekeeper:: in the red light, the skin seems so pure.
Silhouettes circle through the space, barely discernible in the dark red, likely naked, clothed only in the scent of abandon and solely belonging to desire. For days now :: in the garden of Dionysus::
Laughter, moaning, one-two-one-two, precision and chaos, six and nine, leather on skin and the will for the night. Hands, still and more and more - from whom? - who knows...and kisses and juices.
Head in lap. Take it all in, never let go again - for the moment.

Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale....here again...they still flicker..the lights and footsteps echo through the space.
A hint of bitter curry floats through the neon light, a wilted bouquet of flowers, faintly sweet, lies there in the gutter.
The performance. Ends. Applause.

Wrong skin or wrong scent?
After a lot of influencers, YouTubers, and even Parfumo members recommended this scent so incredibly often or rated it positively, I felt almost compelled to order the Turathi (Blue), along with two other Afnan fragrances, blindly.
Worth the money, they said.
Best summer fragrance, they said.
Beast, they said.

Well... I guess I must have the wrong skin... it can't possibly be the scent if everyone is raving about it. ;)
Okay... the opening is fine. I can't share the wave of euphoria from those who feel transported directly to Californian orange groves or Sicilian lemon orchards.
It starts citrusy, orangey, and also pleasant. I quite like the first impression.
But after a few minutes, a synthetic, alcoholic note penetrates this fruity magic and unfortunately doesn't disappear quickly.
I like it when fragrances develop, tell a story. When they take me on a journey and I feel afterwards, Don... that was an exciting, thrilling, or simply a calm but impressive trip.
Unfortunately, this feeling does not occur with the Turathi at all. After the citrus-alcoholic opening is over, it is replaced by a spicy-woody note, still tainted with synthetics and... that's it... nothing more comes. Nothing. Unfortunately.
Okay... it cost me €32. But I really hoped for more.
Well... can't be helped. I guess I need to visit a dermatologist.

wtf, omg and m'kay
Honestly, I don't really know what to write about this scent, or how to start commenting on this wall of fragrance.

Some time ago, I got a sample because the comments here impressed me. Liquid sex, straight from the bottle, dirty, spoiled, and good. Plus a splash of BDSM and a hint of latex for the basement kids in the darkroom.

So, let's dive in and give it a try...
...and it almost overwhelms me. Rubber, latex. After a few minutes, the rubber and latex come through, followed by... right, rubber and, well, you know...
This is a real heavyweight we're dealing with here. On my skin, nothing smells pleasant; it burns in, only evaporating minimally. It doesn't matter whether my skin is dry or sweaty; it always smells like a bulk pack of household rubber. Borderline and completely incompatible with society for me. This latex smell just overpowers everything and is only truly replaced by the base notes.
After about two and a half hours, I perceive something floral, rose-like, as well as amber and vanilla, and this is where the pleasant part begins... The latex/rubber scent lingers for a while without being overwhelming.

This floral/rosy note somehow doesn't quite fit my idea of leather-gay - Sissy-guy fits better here.

Anyway, let's let the base speak... After about 4 hours, the scent reaches a level I can get along with. A powdery, dry affair, very skinny, very pleasant. Despite showering, the scent lingers on my skin until the next morning, almost 20 hours later.

Conclusion: A scent I can't warm up to. I find the scent development quite interesting, even though I feel like the story behind it is somewhat lacking. The latex note is just too dominant, so I'm missing a few chapters of the story because they simply get lost. Ultimately, there is a happy ending, and even though it really lingers for a long time, the journey to get there was far too bumpy and cumbersome for me.
