Tom Ford Noir Extreme Parfum is a rather complex fragrance. On the one hand, it has the typical characteristics of a fougère. On the one hand, it smells fresh and on the other, it has the typical bright, spicy "barbershop-like" powderiness. As I said, a typical fougère. This is contrasted by the dark note, which I clearly recognize as labdanum, even if this note is not officially listed. This gives the fragrance a pleasantly dark and deep character. Apart from that, I have to say that this combination makes the fragrance seem very grown-up. To be honest, it is also a little too awakening for me personally. Because even though I find the scent pleasant, I have the impression that it makes me smell a little old. However, this is just my personal impression and I think this is an excellent fragrance for slightly more mature individuals. And to be clear, I'm not talking about old people, but people in their mid-thirties. That is simply the age group in which I can best imagine this really good fragrance.

Right from the start, I can say that the fragrance is exactly what you would expect when you look at the scent notes. La Nuit de L'Homme Le Parfum smells of spicy fruits and a dark sweetness. The spiciness is rather defensive and leaves all the more room for the dark, fruity sweetness that dominates the fragrance. As a result, the fragrance smells well-balanced and, for me, pleasant. However, the easily perceptible labdanum, which creates this dark surge, takes at least a little getting used to. But that somehow also makes the fragrance more interesting and exciting to smell. Otherwise, it can be said that the typical characteristics of YSL fragrances are also present in this fragrance. Namely, it is a well-rounded fragrance that is not a revolutionary creation. In other words, it is not a polarizing fragrance that is either loved or hated, such as Imagination by Louis Vuitton. In my opinion, La Nuit de L'Homme Le Parfum is therefore a fragrance that most people will like, but nobody will really love. A good fragrance for everyday wear or leisure time. I don't want to make the fragrance look bad and I don't want to make it sound like it's not good. Because that's not true. I particularly like the twist of dark labdanum and lighter notes with fruit and sweetness. However, it does not fit into the La Nuit de L'Homme range at all. Because this range actually consists of fragrances that are used for night outs, dates or other occasions where you want to impress the opposite sex. In my opinion, the fragrances in the range are all fragrances that are pleasant to smell, especially for women. With one single exception, Le Parfum. Too dark, not sweet enough, too boring were the female reactions I got to this fragrance. It would also make me smell a bit old. All in all, it's not what you want to have as a reaction to a fragrance on a date, for example. For me, the fragrance fits much more into the L'Homme range, as an everyday fragrance for the cold season. I think it is very successful for that. A well-rounded and also a little exciting smelling fragrance that is unlikely to annoy anyone in everyday life. It's nice to smell it yourself, but nothing more than that.

Exciting spice with a spicy touch, lavender and sandalwood give the fragrance depth. A well-balanced but by no means boring fragrance. The spiciness recedes somewhat as the fragrance progresses, but remains perceptible the whole time. Overall, the fragrance also exudes a certain maturity and elegance for me. In my perception, the fragrance is also best suited to somewhat more mature gentlemen. This is probably due to the fact that the fragrance does not have any typically youthful notes. The fragrance is neither sweet, nor citrusy-fresh, nor is it the least bit synthetic. The lack of an artificial touch makes it appear both more mature and of higher quality, which it probably is. At least it certainly is if you go by the Boss standards. The fragrance projects solidly and lasts a long time. However, you also have to be careful not to over-spray the fragrance. Otherwise, you will be overwhelmed by the spicy, pungent pimento note. Believe me, I experienced this involuntarily and the burning sensation in my nose afterwards is really no fun. Even if you are totally insensitive to it yourself, please don't spray the fragrance on too strongly out of consideration for your fellow human beings. But back to the fragrance itself, in my experience it works best when you are in close contact. But I don't spray the fragrance on very heavily either. If you only spray the fragrance on two or three times, I can also imagine it as a fragrance for a cozy evening with your partner. The spicy, pungent allspice definitely has something excitingly attractive about it. But of course, the fragrance also works great as a casual scent or perhaps for a date. You can also simply play with the dosage, i.e. the number of sprays. But as already mentioned, you shouldn't go too high, otherwise you'll be overwhelmed by the fragrance.

At first, the fragrance is one thing above all else, namely fresh. Bergamot is the first thing you notice and it brings with it a pleasantly citrusy scent. Shortly afterwards, other notes become perceptible and the fragrance now also has a creamy floral effect. Overall, the fragrance smells pleasantly fresh most of the time. After a while, however, the pink pepper is also noticeable in the background of the fragrance. For me, the fragrance is simply a well-balanced, pleasant-smelling "freshie", which is a really good choice in spring or summer. Now you're probably thinking that this alone is not really convincing when you compare this fragrance with some previous ones. And in principle you are right. However, all of the fragrances that I have praised highly here so far are primarily fragrances that are primarily suitable for fall or winter. There is simply not as much competition for good summer fragrances as there is for fragrances for the cold season. Of course, Acqua di Gio EDT, the best-selling perfume of all time, is a summer fragrance. However, Acqua di Gio EDT is of course also a fragrance that everyone has smelled before and is therefore absolutely nothing special. And of course there are even more good summer fragrances than these two, there's no question about that. For example, there is Bleu de Chanel EDT, which has clearly recognizable similarities to Luna Rossa Ocean EDT. Nevertheless, even when comparing these two fragrances, I think Luna Rossa is better. This may seem strange at first, as Bleu de Chanel as a fragrance is a symbol of pure elegance and fragrances from Prada are often criticized for their lack of quality or finesse. However, I don't really find either fragrance better than the other and the Luna Rossa Ocean EDT wins here simply because of its price. But if you take a look at how these two fragrances are rated, it paints a completely different picture. And even if the longevity of the Bleu de Chanel EDT is perhaps a little better, I am firmly convinced that the Luna Rossa Ocean EDT comes off too badly. I hope that got my point across. So let's get back to the fragrance itself. This becomes a little darker over time as the lavender increases in intensity. Nevertheless, the floral-citrusy freshness is not lost, which remains the case throughout the fragrance. In terms of the occasion, the fragrance can actually be worn anywhere. For a date, however, I would perhaps choose a fragrance that has a certain twist. As far as the longevity and sillage of the fragrance are concerned, these are rather mediocre, so typically Prada.

When I read the scent notes of Luna Rossa Ocean EDP before I bought it, I asked myself "Where are you going?" This can't be an "ocean fragrance". The line is supposed to be fragrances for summer and whether this is a summer fragrance, well. After smelling it for the first time, I was confirmed. A strong sweetness that smells rather artificial. The Amber Xtreme is definitely perceptible. Even if the fragrance is not only sweet and the freshness of the grapefruit also smells pleasant, it is still clearly the sweetness that dominates the fragrance. But if it's not a classic summer fragrance, then it's a great date fragrance. After all, sweet fragrances with a certain freshness are the classic scent for dates. But well, the fragrance is somehow still not the right one for a date. It's just too overpowering when you're close to each other. That makes it kind of useless for a date. So what is this fragrance intended for? There is great disagreement among perfume connoisseurs on this point. Some are of the opinion that the fragrance is only suitable for fall and winter. Others also see the fragrance on summer days.
I have to say, I see the fragrance as an evening scent in spring and summer. Not for a date, but simply for going out or to the club. Quasi as a counterpart to the EDT, which is a clear daytime fragrance for spring and summer. Of course, you can also use the EDP in fall or winter, but in my opinion there are much better fragrances. The fragrance is only exciting if you use it in the warmer seasons. However, I have to say that the fragrance smells a little too artificial for me. Otherwise, the fragrance smells really pleasant and the Amber Extreme also goes well with the fragrance, it is just too intense in it. Overall, this ensures that the fragrance has a slight headache potential. So it is absolutely limited, but it is there. All in all, I would say that the fragrance actually has a pleasant sweetness, but it is too intense. Apart from that, the pleasant freshness is not present enough, namely after a while not at all. The fragrance is too one-sided for me from this point on.
