Minimalistic ....
I got a few new samples and would like to describe one of them in detail. I really like the fragrances by Geza Schön, especially his major hit, Molecule 01. I enjoy wearing it when I don’t want to stand out too much. These scents are characterized by their radical simplicity and offer an alternative to the exuberant mainstream fragrances. Molecule 01+ Guaiac Wood consists of Iso E Super and guaiac wood and promises a unique olfactory experience.

Scent:
Now to the Guaiac Wood scent itself.
Iso E Super is a synthetic molecule with a cedarwood note and a warm, velvety impression. Guaiac wood, on the other hand, has a smoky, woody scent with depth and darkness. Together, they create a super-sexy and erogenous skin scent that reminds one of winter evenings by the fireplace.

Bottle:
The bottle design of the M+ series is minimalist and elegant. The clear glass bottle showcases the fragrance inside and is topped off with a simple black cap. The design emphasizes the simplicity of the scent and fits seamlessly into any beauty shelf.

Longevity and Sillage:
Molecule 01+ Guaiac Wood has impressive longevity and lasts throughout the day. However, the sillage is subtle and stays close to the skin. This underscores the intimacy and sensuality of the fragrance, making it ideal for special occasions or romantic evenings for two.

Conclusion:
Molecule 01+ Guaiac Wood is a unique and sensual fragrance composition that captivates with its radical simplicity. The combination of Iso E Super and guaiac wood results in a super-sexy and erogenous scent.

Midnight Oud stands for Middle East
My entry into the oriental world.
I have had Black Afgano Extrait de Parfum for quite some time, yet I have never been tempted to try out a few oriental fragrances. I am just the fresh-aquatic type and could never identify with other scents. About 5 years ago, I was on vacation in Egypt with my wife. A waiter caught my attention with his fragrance. I tried to figure out what scent it might resemble, but I had no idea. Here in the forum, I always asked about oriental hits in the hope of eventually snagging such a fragrance.
I don’t even remember how the scent smelled in Egypt. I can’t recall it at all. But that’s not a problem because I became aware of this fragrance through the forums here. Now about the scent itself.

I ordered it blindly. It was very, very cheap online. I vaguely knew the scent Interlude Man. I remembered that it was a spice bomb that I didn’t like much. That’s why I was very curious about how Midnight Oud would smell. Would I like it? Is it wearable, and above all, what does my wife say?

I ordered the 50ml, and when the scent arrived, I was irritated. Many reviews described that the bottle even looked similar. That was not the case for me at all. Cheap bottle with a cheap cap and a sticker on it. That’s how it looked.....
However, with the first spray, a massive scent cloud hit me. Wow, this smells amazing was my first impression. Positively surprised that I liked it so much. Dark resins with a nice pleasant incense. Something sweet lingers behind. Vanilla? Please not, because I don’t like vanilla at all. No, it was the sandalwood. Immediately, I questioned how they managed to create such a complex, wonderful scent for so little money. That can’t be true.
But anyone who knows Lattafa, Al Haramain, or Swiss Arabian knows that it is possible.
This time, I couldn’t compare it to Interlude Man at all. The scent was as if deleted from my database. But that was not a problem at all. The scent fascinated me even more. I had to test it on myself immediately and sprayed it on.
Surprisingly, my wife also liked it. She found it appealing. However, one should be careful with the dosage in the bathroom because it overwhelmed her. The whole bathroom smelled of smoke, she said.

At dinner in the restaurant, the scent was always present on me. However, I didn’t feel like I was overwhelming the other guests. The scent gradually became a bit more gourmand due to the sandalwood. But still wonderfully balanced with dominant incense. The other notes perfectly round off the scent and create a truly wonderful wearable oriental.

Performance of the scent. At first, it seems overwhelming. However, I did not find that at all in hindsight. Although I didn’t just apply 3 sprays. It lasts 8-10 hours but radiates less strongly after half that time.

The bottle. I can only speak about the 50ml bottle. No, I’d rather not......

Conclusion about the scent. It is absolutely worth it. I also wear it in hot temperatures. I find it terrible when people say you can’t wear such scents in summer. Do you think everyone in the Middle East wears freshies? Especially in such temperatures, I find these scents very wearable. One just needs to be careful with the dosage.
Just a quick note at the end. Last week, I had the chance to smell the original Interlude Man. I was so curious. And right with the first spray, I couldn’t notice any difference. Unbelievable. So why spend so much money when you can get it for a tenth of the price?
Well done, Ard Al Zaafaran

1000% recommendation to buy

Allrounder with Niche Quality
My latest acquisition is Encre NOIR Sport. A blind buy I had to make since I have been to what feels like every perfumery for at least half a year, and the fragrance, like its big brother, is no longer available on the shelves.
What has always surprised me is that the fragrance was offered at a significantly higher price in perfumeries than it can be found online.
I knew I would order it online but wanted to test it one more time beforehand.
I find vetiver scents quite pleasant in this hot weather. They feel fresh but unfortunately sometimes a bit old-fashioned, and my wife doesn't like that very much. I mean, for example, Uomo Vetyver Eau de Toilette. A great scent for a few euros. But it is a classic and not a modern freshie.
Thus, I came across Lalique. Now, onto the scent.....

It starts surprisingly differently than often described here. Very fresh and citrusy. I agree with many on that. No sharp citrus, which I absolutely dislike. However, I don't perceive any smoke here at all, only a very slight hint. But not in the base, only at the beginning. The scent smells fresh and directly aquatic. You feel thoroughly clean and well-prepared for a warm day. I don't perceive the grapefruit, but it probably rounds off the citrus nicely.
After a short time, the scent becomes a bit warmer and rounder. A bit of lavender comes in, and I think the smokiness that many mention comes from the nutmeg. That is nicely combined with the vetiver in the base. Since the scent is supported by aquatic notes and becomes very soft at the end due to the musk, it is a perfect allrounder that never offends. You can wear it for any situation, and it feels very modern. The name fits the scent perfectly.

The performance for such an inexpensive fragrance is amazing. Many fragrances that are much more expensive cannot compete with it. On my skin, I can smell it easily for 5-7 hours. The sillage is also great and lasts just as long before it becomes very close to the skin.

The bottle is top-notch. A small, handy, elegant cube made of glass with a nice inscription. The cap is made of dark wood, although it could also be plastic since it is very light. If it is wood, the cap is beautifully wood-laminated. The inscription "Lalique" is embossed on top, rounding off the cap nicely.

My conclusion about the scent...
A price-performance monster with niche quality.

By no means just a regular shower gel scent
I became curious about the fragrances from Ugolini through some YouTubers.
My favorite fragrance direction is fresh aquatic scents like Acqua di Giò Profumo Parfum with a masculine touch that are by no means sweet but have good performance.
Blue Suede Shoes should also be one of those. According to many statements, it doesn’t offend but is well-received by almost everyone. So I quickly drove to my perfumery in Düsseldorf to test it. To cut a long story short, I bought it two hours later.

Now to the scent:
Upon spraying, I was immediately thrilled by the woody, fresh note. Cold lavender with a hint of pepper. Delightfully fresh that you automatically take a deep breath. Patchouli joins in and makes it something special. Most people who have tested this scent keep talking about it being a cheap, unremarkable shower gel scent.
That’s a statement that annoys me just as much as those always-criticized Aventus clone scents. One might consider that Creed has managed to create a new fragrance direction with Aventus. That’s why many scents might smell similar to Aventus. Not because they want to constantly copy it. The same goes for the so-called shower gel scents.
It annoys me to describe a scent so simply, and I’ll just say briefly: “Then use a good shower gel!” Because I use ones that I like and are by no means boring. Especially since you feel so fresh and clean afterward. For some, probably a “no go”! ….

Back to the scent, which in my eyes is by no means boring. The dry down is particularly special. Caused by the tonka bean and cedarwood. I find the scent perfectly balanced and rounded. Notably, it is truly a compliment getter!!! Many of my friends, women, and colleagues found it incredibly good. Some even wanted to order it right away. And I think rightly so.
It fits every occasion and every age.
Its performance leaves nothing to be desired. The scent easily lasts 12 hours on me. On my clothes, even longer. And that for a regular shower gel scent.
The sillage is also impressive. You will definitely be noticed in the room. Don’t worry. A true blind buy candidate….

The bottle is good. No high-quality cap in wood look. But that’s not a problem. The lettering is on a leather patch, and this was stuck onto a simple blue bottle with a golden sprayer.

I can definitely recommend this scent blindly. A niche fragrance with mainstream vibes.

Everything Done Right
I like the Givenchy fragrance line and now I will describe the gentleman of fragrances par excellence.
Why is he a true gentleman?! I will try to explain.
As for the scent itself, it is no stranger. You have the agony of choice. It belongs to the powdery sweet category. The most well-known in the line is Dior. But Valentino and Zara are almost on par. Each time with slight differences. It's strange why there isn't a fuss made like with all the Aventus dupes when a fragrance comes to market that resembles a well-known perfect scent. Personally, I don't find it problematic at all. Even if a 1000th Aventus clone hits the market. Competition invigorates the business.

Now, why this fragrance is a true gentleman comes next.
The fragrance pyramid has a greater intensity compared to its “Eau de Toilette” version.
It starts with a spicy accord that consists solely of black pepper.
Its heart then surprises us with its floral influence of iris. Not as strong and intrusive as in the other two intense powdery ones. Very noticeable but not overpowering. Finally, in the background, we have vanilla pod and patchouli, which show us the most seductive and masculine facet. Again, not too overpowering but perfectly balanced. Not too sweet vanilla, which I then no longer like.
Thus, it is a perfect balance for nighttime moments, special occasions, or a romantic evening with a partner.
Its longevity is enormous. Still noticeable after a good 12 hours. That gives me such a secure feeling. I use it when I want to be sure that I will still smell good over a longer period. The sillage is also great. Not too intrusive and not too harmless. A little story on the side: I was at Mudmasters last year. At home, I sprayed three sprays on my sports shirt. After hours of muddy battles, I overtook a small group of women and they loudly called after me that I smell damn good. That was really funny because I didn't even notice it anymore. So much for endurance.

I really like the bottle. Straight lines with curved corners and completely black glass.

Among the powdery sweet fragrances, I find it to be a true gentleman. Because, in my opinion, it is perfectly balanced. Not too harsh and intrusive but still wonderfully noticeable and a compliment getter. Suitable for young and old and for any occasion.
