Classy, refreshing herbs and... rubber bands?
It's a lovely, cooling, warm-weather fragrance with a strong rubber band note that only appears on the skin and doesn't exist on paper. I assume what others perceive as "machine scent" and perhaps "banana leaf scent" my brain translates to "rubber-y".

Back onto the main subject, you'd think that I'd hate a perfume that makes me smell of rubber bands but I don't. H24 starts off aromatic, herbacious and a little green in a pleasantly cooling way. The opening feels almost watery, though that particular feeling will disappear quickly. It goes through a slightly soapy phase somewhere in the middle and finally dries down into beautiful, long-lasting, mossy woods, dry and classy.

It's a really interesting pairing of notes that read as classic, mature and traditional and notes that feel futuristic, machine-like or metallic. Projection is okay, not too strong and not too pathethic, longevity is pretty good. It's a solid office workhorse, elegant enough for an important meeting, universal enough to wear pretty much year round - though I think it shines more in warm weather. If you're someone who dislikes moss in fragrance H24 probably won't work for you, although this particular moss is quite balanced and doesn't feel terribly dusty nor terribly damp and vegetal.

Sweet cherry-flavored vape smoke
I had a chance to try Mayar Cherry Intense as it was part of Lattafa's Discovery Set vol. 2. and personally I find it to be the least pleasant offering from the bunch.

To explain it shortly: Mayar smells like smoke from the cheapest cherry vape you can find at the convenience store. There's strong sugary sweetness and definite fruit notes but the fruits aren't natural. It's the synthetic, plastic-y rendition of strawberry and cherry - the type you'd find in a vape, a car air freshener, cheap bubble gum etc.

Now I should probably note that I don't particularly like the scent of cherries in perfume so perhaps other people will have more luck with this. If you ever smelled cherry-flavored e-cigarette smoke and thought "huh that probably tastes pretty good" you might find Mayar fun. Personally I feel like Mayar grabbed me by the face and yanked me into some burried memory of a university party, where the table is soaked with spilled mad dogs and the air is hot and so heavy with sweet vapor it's starting to turn blueish-white.

Not a work scent but could be fun for a party. Good projection, but I can't speak to its longevity since I end up washing it off every time I try it. If you don't like sweet frags it will definitely be a miss for you.

Ode to my car
It's truly incredible how perfumes can instantly transport you to a different space and time. For example this perfume smells exactly like the inside of a car and instantly triggers my carsickness.

Looking at the listed notes I expected this to be beachy fragrance in the vain of Eau de Soleil Blanc or Aegean Bronze . How naive of me - nothing could be further from the truth. This is not a beachy, holiday frag. The notes mystically blend together creating a scent that reminds me vividly of car upholstery and an old, used up, Little Tree car freshener with a bit of sweetness still clinging to it. I think some people might actually find this type of scent somewhat cozy and comforting but not a chronically carsick rat like me.

I was trying to root for a smaller Polish niche house but by god this ain't it.

A cheerful but fleeting burst of Fanta
For the first hour it smells exactly like orange Fanta. Afterwards it transforms into a vivid recreation of Nivea cream on bare skin. After four hours it’s completely gone. My partner laughed his ass off while accompanying me on this journey (especially after hearing the price).

Frankly I am appalled at the utter lack of lasting power and sillage on both this and Afternoon Delight . Perhaps at this price point we are allowed to ask Maison Margiela for a bit more seriousness in their approach to their work.

If you like the initial vibe on this you might want to try Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria - to me they seem to evoke a similar atmosphere. While Bergamote Calabria is no beast performer I recall it lasting longer than Never-ending Summer.

Works as a home fragrance not as a personal fragrance
This actually does exactly what it says it will do - it makes you smell like a warm, moist almond cake freshly pulled out of the oven. Unfortunately, it also helped me realise I don’t actually want to smell like warm, moist almond cake.

To me personally this scent is the epitome of “would be better as a candle”.

Doesn’t project much. Maybe it doesn't project at all.
