Another salty-sweet, beachy perfume...
For a caramel scent, this is unusually fresh and clean, but that doesn't mean that it's not a true caramel. It's just really salty and mineralic and has a lot of creamy, beachy jasmine in addition to the salted caramel! As the scent dries down, it turns sweeter and warmer and the caramel becomes more and more prominent.

If you like the idea of a caramel perfume but usually find them too sticky and sweet, this could be worth looking into. It's very wearable and not as gourmandish or girly as most caramel scents. It's also not as original as some other Bohoboco fragrances, but maybe I just think that because salty-sweet, warm fragrances really had their moment since this came out in 2016. When it was new, the trend had just started with CK Reveal and Paco Rabanne Olympea. Sea Salt Caramel reminds me a bit of both of them, but it's not as sweet as Olympea and less woodsy than reveal. It just has that creamy, mineral-infused texture, if that makes sense to you.

Still, as I'm testing this in 2023, I think there are many scents that do salted caramel in a more interesting way. I also think a little less jasmine wouldn't have hurt. This is nice, but it doesn't blow me away.

Movie Theater Bathroom
This was so not for me. Sea Salt and Caramel is a perfect example of why we spend money first on samples vs blind buying a whole bottle impulsively.

This smelled overly synthetic and plasticky straight from the sample. Sometimes this happens from an atomizer but even in settling down it was a fail. About an hour in it had a vague urine tinge to it, like that you'd find in a movie theater bathroom. Not at all a creamy smooth or sweet salty scent like I had been hoping for. Definitely a hard pass for me.

Ode to my car
It's truly incredible how perfumes can instantly transport you to a different space and time. For example this perfume smells exactly like the inside of a car and instantly triggers my carsickness.

Looking at the listed notes I expected this to be beachy fragrance in the vain of Eau de Soleil Blanc or Aegean Bronze . How naive of me - nothing could be further from the truth. This is not a beachy, holiday frag. The notes mystically blend together creating a scent that reminds me vividly of car upholstery and an old, used up, Little Tree car freshener with a bit of sweetness still clinging to it. I think some people might actually find this type of scent somewhat cozy and comforting but not a chronically carsick rat like me.

I was trying to root for a smaller Polish niche house but by god this ain't it.

Salty sweet, weirdly fresh and floral ... I don't even ...
This is just plain weird. I know I'm not a salty/sweet mix for my food and it probably translates to fragrances too, but this is just odd. The start is very confusing. I get salt, jasmine and a hint of something mineral and herbal-like (probably the algae?). There's just something disconcerting with the notes here. Jasmine is watery, sweet and fresh while the salt / bay leaf combo interact weirdly together. It's overall very off-putting and fresher than what I thought it'd be based on the notes. Dries down to salted caramel, but even then, the cedarwood takes over with the salt and it becomes a salty/woody drydown with a hint of sweetness. Disappointed, I thought the brown sugar and salted caramel would stick out a little longer.

I don't know where they were trying to go from here, but this is not it. There are better salty / sweet fragrances out there. Don't be fooled by the caramel, this is not a gourmand. Probably one of the more disappointing scent from my ScentXplore box up until now. Oh well, on to the next!

A Summer Afternoon by the Sea
Some fragrances smell like the sea. And some feel like the sea. This one belongs to both categories for me.

Sea Salt Caramel is not a loud summer cocktail, nor is it sunscreen on the beach. It is the calm expanse of a late summer afternoon by the sea, when the wind brushes salty over the skin and everything slows down.

At first, I perceive a salty, yet warm freshness - like air that has just swept over the sea water. Behind it, a warming, light sweetness emerges, reminiscent of sun-warmed skin. Not an aquatic cliché, but rather a feeling of summer warmth, openness, inner peace, and not having to do anything.

For me personally, this is not a party scent.
It is an anchor. I wear it when I want to ground myself. When I need space. When I want to briefly return to the sea - even if I am just standing in my kitchen.

It has something comforting, without being too sweet. Something free, without feeling cold.

I took longer to appreciate this fragrance - I bought it, sold it again, and finally bought it back.
Sometimes you have to let a scent go to realize that it actually wanted to stay.

The notes sound incredible so I was really excited, but I smell none of what is promised. A synthetic clean floral and that is all.

Smells very floral and aquatic, slightly sweet. I don't smell any caramel or sea salt. Performance could be better.

Bitter white floral. I don't like this at all. No caramel no sea salt.

Sea salt, jasmine and caramel makes for an odd synthetic and fresh salty/sweet mix. Something isn't quite right here.

This perfume is odd and not at all what I had expected. Comes off surprisingly fresh for the notes and confuses the brain.

Why salt white flowers? It has some strange creamy sweatiness, like having sex on a beach (at sunset cause brown sugar). Fluid intimacy.

This is a weird scent. All I get are old, overdue flowers. No salt or caramel, nothing gourmand. Pure floral.
Lasts around 4 hours on skin.

Not really aquatic, but way too sweet, making it instantly overwhelming. For me, the worst interpretation of a jasmine scent so far.
