Can't get out of your head and creeps into your heart
When I heard that top perfumer Quentin Bisch, who conceived #Delina, was creating another Lattafa (it wasn't his first time), I was very interested. Little by little, reviews started pouring in, most of them comparing "Teriaq / ترياق | Lattafa / لطافة" with "La Belle | Jean Paul Gaultier". So I went and sniffed the latter to shorten the waiting time, but after treating myself to a bottle of "Teriaq / ترياق | Lattafa / لطافة", I have to say - the vibe is there, but it's not a classic dupe. You could say that if you're into feminine, sweet fragrances, then there's a good chance you'll like the new Lattafa fragrance. But that's about it. As I was really impressed by the bottling, I naturally treated myself to the bottle.
The bottle is beautifully designed, much too good to store in the dark. The cap is unfortunately made of plastic, but at €29.95, the whole project here is surprisingly affordable considering the hype. I would have seen it priced more in the Niche Emirati realm.
"Teriaq / ترياق | Lattafa / لطافة" starts off salty and sweet. At first, I was a little startled because it reminded me of celery, or a salty soup or even Maggi. The longer I own the bottle. I'm already familiar with the fact that several Lattafa fragrances tend to put me off at first sniff. Here, however, the top note is somehow so special and changes so quickly that my nose was practically glued to my wrist. In between, it becomes sweet and caramelly, the fragrance is not linear at all and that's exactly how I feel about it now. It's a fragrance you can't get away from, I keep coming back to it. I think it lasts a very good 8 hours, I can still smell it on clothes days later. I don't find it fruity and fresh, the vanilla dominates on my skin quite quickly and overall this fragrance reminds me of Betina Bartey's Vannila Body Lotion, which I liked to use as a schoolgirl.
I am happy to have "Teriaq / ترياق | Lattafa / لطافة" in my collection, but I find it more feminine than unisex.

Warm, spicy and oriental without a headache
I love Lattafa fragrances and so far I have bought all of them blind. Including this one. According to my research, it was supposed to be a dupe for Nishane Ani, which I've never tested.
For just under €17, you hold a black, heavy bottle with a golden metal cap in your hand. The design is not quite my cup of tea, but I think the bottle suits the fragrance. The sprayer works well, the cap closes relatively tightly and the overall feel of the bottle is very high-quality, especially considering the price.
At first, Nasheet smells very spicy, a little woody, but I also smell a slight minty note, which other reviewers have described as eucalyptus. The fragrance quickly becomes sweet and warm, but I would still describe it as unisex wearable. Lattafa himself lists guaiac wood as the top note, followed by nutmeg, incense, cashmere and sandalwood in the heart note. All in all, a rather spicy composition. I can smell some sweet vanilla right from the start and the fragrance reminds me of a feminine, sweet form of "Ambassador for Men | Gisada" and "Jasmin Noir (Eau de Parfum) | Bvlgari", although the latter is much fruitier than "Nasheet | Lattafa / لطافة". The scent has a very Christmassy / festive effect on me, which is certainly due to the incense and reminds me of entering a church for Christmas mass, but without the admixture of wet brickwork. Overall, probably not for the height of summer, it's too heavy for that. More for the evening, when you want to be noticed. I can easily smell it for 5-6 hours before it becomes a skin scent, but I haven't owned the bottle for that long and I know from experience that the performance of Lattafa tends to improve over time. In summary, a successful, spicy and special fragrance with a great price-performance ratio.

The dupe to the Lattafa Dupe Antique
I was actually on the hunt for another Lattafa fragrance. I had my eye on the Antique fragrance from the Niche Emirati range, but I wasn't prepared to fork out a hefty €80 for it, so I initially bought a bottle here from the souk. The chic bottle in the shape of a Christmas bauble didn't really interest me. I prefer simpler bottles that are easier to store in cupboards.
I only found out that Antique is a BDK dupe for Gris Charnel after further research, and I haven't sniffed it yet - but I no longer see any need for it.
During this research, I discovered that Lattafa has a certain redundancy when it comes to fragrances. It comes in basic bottles and then again quite similar or, to my nose, exactly the same in the expensive niche version. Liam Grey (there is also a white version) was sold out for quite a long time, I was finally able to get hold of this little treasure for around €20 (much cheaper than the opulent glitter ball) and compare it with the Antique bottling - what can I say, they smell exactly the same.
The phenomenon probably also exists with other fragrances (e.g. with Vintage Radio vs. Al Nashama as a dupe to Initio's Paragon).
Ultimately, everyone has to decide for themselves, but you don't need both fragrances when it comes to the fragrance itself. If you collect bottles...go for it.
The fragrance itself starts wonderfully spicy with cardamom and black tea, a real unisex wonder. It changes quite quickly and becomes softer and more powdery, a little sweeter and more floral. The iris joins in and is replaced relatively quickly by vanilla. I quickly stop smelling it myself, maybe 3 hours at most, which doesn't mean that others don't notice it. It lasts on clothes until the next day. For me, it is a beautiful, unobtrusive, yet special everyday fragrance.

The coconut-lemon cookies need to bake a little longer...
I've become a fan of Lattafa, there's no other way to put it. Not every bottle is successful, but the price-performance ratio often surpasses some luxury fragrances by far.
This is also the case here. You get 90ml for well under 20€, the white, heavy bottle is once again ideal for self-defense and sits securely in the hand. The golden cap has a magnetic closure (guys, I remind you of the price!) and the bottle is decorated with golden ornaments in which a galloping horse is hidden. So the hardware is already right - 10/10.
And then the first spray, there's nothing wrong with it per se, but the smell...I'm totally disappointed. Kind of dry, something scratches my throat. Get rid of it quickly.
It was a blind purchase after I had been inspired by several Youtubers whose scent preferences actually corresponded to mine. I was promised a tangy, delicate lemon tartlet with a coconut scent.
A few days later I tried it again and what can I say, the scratchy feeling was no longer so strong. The lemony freshness, paired with a sugary coconut note and a light powdery scent...in the drydown it simply leaves a pleasant summer feeling of lemon ice cream. I've already got a colleague hooked on it and we're already looking forward to warmer temperatures, by which time the tart will certainly be baked.

Great fragrance, but still 2nd choice
I only own this fragrance for one reason. I'm mourning the loss of another one...
I once fell in love with Omnia by Bulgari. And I don't mean the dull version of the first fragrance, I mean the two shiny intertwined brown hoops, the contents of which smell of ginger and red pepper and remind me personally of my former flatmate B., who had a well-heeled boyfriend and therefore an excellent perfume collection. Omnia was part of it and I was allowed to help myself to it from time to time. Some of the fragrances are still among my favorites today. Unfortunately, Omnia is no longer produced in this version and I spent a long time looking for a replacement, which is how I ended up with Jo Malone Dark Amber and Ginger Lilly. The flacon suits my taste today and the price is more affordable with today's salary than with the student job I had back then. The fragrance lasts half a working day on my skin without overtime. You can still smell it on clothes days later. A beautiful winter fragrance that brings back memories, but still doesn't manage to evoke the old days. Anyone looking for a fragrance twin to Omnia should still give it a try.
