Spoiler: this will be a love story with us

Teriaq was probably THE hyped fragrance for many for the start of 2024, thanks to Quentin Bisch. That in combination with Lattafa, the fragrance house that produces so many top hits, has me raving too.
While I waited eagerly for my bottle to arrive, glued to the window and searching for the yellow gift messenger, the first reviews slowly began to appear online.
Too much leather (and unfortunately I don't like that at all, or maybe I just think I do?), too much resin, disappointment was great, I had expected so much.
Oh no! I thought that the beautiful Teriaq bottle and I weren't going to be a love story...

And then it finally arrived.
I sprayed it carefully, very carefully... I wanted to like it so much... these scents...
And then, all of a sudden, the great fragrance epiphany came for me.
Not a disappointment. Not too much leather! No annoying resin! TERIAQ, HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE YOU?
All around, everyone here seems to smell something completely different.

For me, the image is dark, almost slightly burnt, crunchy caramel, which I don't mean in a negative way at all! It is incredibly creamy, very warm and honey-sweet, slightly light-blooded and almondy or vanilla-soft. To my nose, the fruit is simply not there, or if it is, it's so fine and subtle that I hardly notice it.
In the meantime, I no longer think that I don't smell leather - I actually think Teriaq has simply got hold of it so that I can really like it here! This fine trace, I would have to symbolize it, not smooth, but fine, soft and roughened suede. I actually see it in almost every season except for the too-hot summer. I think even the first days of spring can tolerate the fragrance well. The longevity and sillage are also top notch on me. On my skin, it cracks the 8 hours, during which it remains wonderfully perceptible. It also radiates a lot of warmth.

All in all, it can be summarized as follows: since opinions differ greatly here, you should simply test it. I think it's worth it. Certainly not a crowdpleaser, but it could be really interesting for fans of warm, caramel-like fragrances. For me, it even packs the hated leather in a first-class way.
My personal new must-buy! I hope our paths cross soon. I neeeeed yooooou!

Similar to La Belle

Quentin Bisch is one of the best-known names in the perfume scene.
With fragrances such as Delina Eau de Parfum, Ganymede Eau de Parfum or Carlisle, he has made a name for himself that is expected to be very successful.
Does Teriaq join the ranks of these wonderful fragrances?
That remains to be seen.
But not for me personally.

Because Teriaq smells to me like another Quentin Bisch creation that I unfortunately don't find as beautiful, La Belle.
I saw this one years ago, thought the bottle was beautiful and had to spray it directly onto a test strip.
Unfortunately, I smelled something that gave me a stomach ache and I had exactly the same problem with Teriaq.

The fragrance starts directly with a note that some describe as Maggi, which is the note that I already found terrible in La Belle.
For me it also smells somehow like rubber.
Plus bitter almonds and a caramel note that comes across as synthetic and somehow reminds me of Pink Sugar Eau de Toilette.

The floral notes are never present on my skin, not even in DD.
Just like the fruity notes and the leather.
If anything, I would say the apricot is more of a dried fruit that is subtly perceptible somewhere in the background.
So no juicy fruit a la Kirké and co.
But as I said, not really present, at least in my opinion, which I think is a shame.
The same goes for the leather.
Anyone hoping for realistic honey will also be disappointed here.
It is simply there to give the fragrance a slight sweetness.

The longer you wear the fragrance, the smoother it becomes.
The "Maggi" note is still prominent, but not as spicy as at the beginning.
The fragrance remains spicy, sweet (not too sweet) and somehow slightly salty at the end

The performance is above average to strong.
Of course, this could also be due to the fact that I always perceive fragrances that I don't find so great very strongly.
But when I tested the fragrance, I was able to smell it for 5 hours without any problems.
It was noticeable with every movement.
After 5-6 hours, it was finally a skin scent.
It lasted over 11 hours on my skin.
Even after 14h I noticed it very, very slightly when I looked for it on my skin.
But then the fragrance was really very difficult to detect.

I have heard in various videos that the fragrance could also pass as unisex.
I can only partially agree with this.
It is perhaps borderline unisex, but still very feminine.

The weather is slowly getting warmer, so you can still wear Teriaq without any problems.
So if you want to buy it now, you can rock the fragrance right away.
In a few months it will probably look different again, because the fragrance is definitely not for the summer, just as a little info at the end.

My conclusion : A fragrance that will give pleasure to many ladies who love or like la belle.
For 29,99 € also a lot cheaper than the JPG.
For me, however, this was unfortunately a bad buy.
Nevertheless, my curiosity was satisfied and I can now finally sleep without wondering what Teriaq smells like xD

Startled for a moment, but then...!!!

After all the hype and my new enthusiasm for Lattafa, I was very excited about this creation.
I waited for it and then it was finally available, and I even got a bargain.
Immediately afterwards, it was already sold out.
So I was all the more excited to receive my package.
Finally arrived, opened: beautiful packaging, great presentation for the price and then the bottle! What a beautiful bottle!
Lid off and held towards my wrist... in my head a "please please please"
I immediately noticed a relatively strong scent: The bitter almond and pink pepper together start very strongly. My head really had to work a bit because I was a bit confused. The scent was much darker than I had expected.

The corners of my mouth moved down a little... a "pity" almost crossed my lips when I smelled my hand again... OH? Wait.... wait....

Then the caramel came through and slowly the apricot with honey! WOW!
This twist after a few minutes is so delicious and elegant.
It's still not a super soft caramel, because the really relaxed leather note still brings in some edge, but honestly:

The drydown is heavenly! I would not have expected such a strong change.
This fragrance is so... different... that I sometimes smell something different at the start, depending on the time of day or the weather. Super exciting.

This is not a crowdpleaser in that sense, but it's really worth waiting for the drydown!
Like a caramelly honey-musk silk scarf and sooo beautiful!

I don't regret the blind buy!

So, where do I start?
I generally don't write many reviews. I prefer it short and snappy and writing and reading a review simply takes more time.
Well, yes. We've sorted that out.
However, this fragrance cannot be put into words so quickly.
It literally screams: "Hey, you can't just dismiss me with a few nice words! Describe me, advertise me, explain me!"
All right.

It was a blind buy. I generally don't do that because I'm too afraid I won't like the fragrance. At the price (I paid €30 + shipping), I thought to myself "okay, you can't go far wrong - if the fragrance isn't for you, you'll have a nice bottle in your collection".
Of course, I did a bit of research beforehand and watched YouTube videos.
How could it be otherwise.

I let myself be convinced. When the fragrance arrived... Curiosity was high, I unpacked the bottle, almost with shaky hands, so that the beautiful thing almost fell out of my hand :/ Just barely held on.
Smelled both my wrists to see if there was still one "free" or if I had already used both sides - lucky me - sprayed it on.

At that moment, I had the words of people I had seen in YouTube videos or whose reviews I had read in my head. "La Belle, honey, honey, honey, celery, Maggie spice, Quentin Bisch, nothing special, I'm in love....etc. pp."

I myself first smelled burnt sugar with bitter almond. Something along the lines of Escapade Gourmande and definitely in a positive sense. There was possibly a hint of apricot, but I could be wrong.
Thought to myself, "hey, at least no celery." That would have been tragic.
At the same time, I sprayed it on a test strip. After waiting a bit... the scent smells much fresher here. I can even smell the rhubarb.

After waiting a bit: honey without flowers (I personally don't smell them)
Towards the end: labdanum, vanilla, musk march towards the drydown.

It's definitely worth waiting for this one. It is heavenly....

I honestly have to admit that I missed the leather a little. A light, very fine touch would have been nice. But maybe it was so finely woven that I couldn't even smell it. Who knows.

I can't say much about the comparison with La Belle.
I myself only own the La Belle Le Parfum
When I compare the two on the test strip, I also recognize a vibe or slight similarities BUT I find that Teriaq is simply much cuddlier, warmer, more caramel-like. And this note of burnt sugar is very present in my mouth.
La Belle is fruitier for me.

Do you have to have both?
Not necessarily. Which one you prefer depends on you.
But I will definitely try layering both ;)

My conclusion:
A beautiful fragrance with La Belle vibes but nonetheless a pretty independent scent. Definitely not a crowdpleaser.
H/S easily a 10, the fragrance scents your fellow human beings as well ;)

Can't get out of your head and creeps into your heart

When I heard that top perfumer Quentin Bisch, who conceived #Delina, was creating another Lattafa (it wasn't his first time), I was very interested. Little by little, reviews started pouring in, most of them comparing Teriaq with La Belle. So I went and sniffed the latter to shorten the waiting time, but after treating myself to a bottle of Teriaq, I have to say - the vibe is there, but it's not a classic dupe. You could say that if you're into feminine, sweet fragrances, then there's a good chance you'll like the new Lattafa fragrance. But that's about it. As I was really impressed by the bottling, I naturally treated myself to the bottle.
The bottle is beautifully designed, much too good to store in the dark. The cap is unfortunately made of plastic, but at €29.95, the whole project here is surprisingly affordable considering the hype. I would have seen it priced more in the Niche Emirati realm.
Teriaq starts off salty and sweet. At first, I was a little startled because it reminded me of celery, or a salty soup or even Maggi. The longer I own the bottle. I'm already familiar with the fact that several Lattafa fragrances tend to put me off at first sniff. Here, however, the top note is somehow so special and changes so quickly that my nose was practically glued to my wrist. In between, it becomes sweet and caramelly, the fragrance is not linear at all and that's exactly how I feel about it now. It's a fragrance you can't get away from, I keep coming back to it. I think it lasts a very good 8 hours, I can still smell it on clothes days later. I don't find it fruity and fresh, the vanilla dominates on my skin quite quickly and overall this fragrance reminds me of Betina Bartey's Vannila Body Lotion, which I liked to use as a schoolgirl.
I am happy to have Teriaq in my collection, but I find it more feminine than unisex.
