16 Fragrance Sample Card Test - 12 January, 2024

The amount of samples to test is decided by rolling two gaming dice, and it must be a number over 10. The samples in this set were chosen at random and sprayed 3-5 times on a labeled card. Judgement begins after they have dried which is about 10-15 minutes time. (Note: I have reduced the amount of time from the previous tests)

Cards are turned with the label side facing down and arranged in lines. This is done in a dimly lit environment to avoid judgment or attempt at identification based on the spray stain.

All cards are sniffed through quickly and those in the first three disqualifier groups are decided first, then separated out. The groups being:
1.) Smells like nothing
2.) Smells like something but I’m not impressed
3.) Don’t enjoy or don’t want to smell like

The remaining cards are then shuffled and reordered. They are ranked in groups of three. The best, mid, and least favorite of each group are compared again until final card order is decided.

These are my judgement results - from being sprayed on paper *only* - for the following 16 fragrances:

Smelled like nothing:
- Marc Jacobs Mod Noir

Smelled like something, but I wasn’t impressed:
- MAC Turquatic
- Clinique Happy for Men
- Pink Sugar Berry Blast
- Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle
- L'interdit Givency

Don’t Enjoy or Don’t want to smell Like:
- Siren Song Elixirs Winter Soldier
- Alien Goddess
- Musc Neutre Jeffery Dame
- Slowdive
- Kasbah

Top 5 favorites:
#5 L'Occitan EDT
#4 Krasnaya Moskva Light
#3 La Panthere
#2 Michael by Michael Kors
#1 Chanel Paris - Deauville

Special Note:  I was not impressed with anything in this selection, even the favorites. Nothing really thrilled me or made me happy. For this reason the top 5 are going back into the testing pool for future comparisons.
