Karagiozis

It opens as a herbal, aromatic sandalwood with a lovely myrrh note. Mesmerizing combination and probably my favorite sandalwood perfume. After some time, it mellows down to a simpler vanilla scent. Overall execution is super impressive - it’s enticing and beautifully blended. I do like to reach for it in autumn/ winter time as it’s very wearable and cosy.

Litchi & peonies, similar to Delina. They are both beautifully done and it’s hard to pick favorites. In terms of differences, Fleur Narcotique is firstly a (white) floral perfume, and Delina’s emphasis is on the juicy, fruity notes of litchi and rhubarb. It’s such an elegant, yet fun and uplifting fragrance.

A clean, delicate and sophisticated violet with a modern ozonic note. Iris is definitely taking a back seat here. Musk is well balanced and the powdery note isn't overpowering like in most old fashioned iris perfumes.

Ex Nihilo is really good at making simple, elegant florals, but this one lacks character and has really poor performance.

Tobacco is a hit or miss for me, but this one is perfectly balanced - it’s smooth and just the right amount of smoky. Tobacco doesn’t linger for too long; after half an hour or so, a more prominent warm spicy, creamy and sweet rum takes the stage. It’s unisex, bold and unique. It’s date night sexy and perfect for colder times.

A very sweet, woody vanilla with an almost medicinal note on opening. Theoretically I should love this - a warm, smoky, woody vanilla brings instantly to mind Vanagloria or Lune Feline which are perfect vanillas for me. But By the Fireplace is mostly just too sweet and synthetic? Nothing that stands out from other budget vanilla perfumes really and definitely no chestnut.

Below average performance, which is standard for me with this brand.
