A Cake Like No Other!
To get straight to the point, Lira is for me the gourmand fragrance among gourmand fragrances!
I searched for a long time for a new gourmand scent for my collection and that's how I came across Casamorati Lira. I ordered it blind, as the fragrance pyramid seemed very interesting to me. Blood orange, bergamot, and lavender on a sweet base? I couldn't quite imagine it, but something inside me whispered that Lira would be THE fragrance in my collection.
When the scent arrived, I eagerly unboxed it and sprayed it on my hand.
Wow, I thought. I had never smelled anything like this before. The fresh citrus notes harmonize so well with the vanilla, cinnamon, and caramel note, reminding me of a lemon cake from my childhood.
What particularly convinces me about this fragrance is the opening. The blood orange and bergamot give this sweet scent such a unique character that definitely lingers in the memory.
The longer the fragrance is on you, the more those citrus notes fade, and the lemon cake transforms into a sweet vanilla crescent that smells like a Christmas market.
For me, a 10 out of 10 gourmand fragrance that can even be worn well in spring!

For others, it's the Side Effect - For me, it's the Narcotic Delight!
Please don't lynch me for this, but I was never a big fan of Side Effect, which is often dubbed the "Best Date Fragrance." My first encounter with Side Effect was very sober, and I lost interest in Initio for a while.
However, during my last visit to the perfume shop, that changed: The saleswoman came right up to me as I entered the store and excitedly and somewhat hysterically fanned a scent strip of the new house fragrance - "Narcotic Delight" - towards me. A bit taken aback by the saleswoman, I sniffed the scent strip and BAM! I was instantly in love. My first words to the saleswoman were literally: "Wow!" Is this the feeling people get when they smell Side Effect? In my opinion, this fragrance deserves the title "Best Date Fragrance," and I shared the excitement with the saleswoman. This incredibly beautiful cherry note, accompanied by the booziness of the cognac, made me take a brief timeout from the outside world. The well-known "Hedione" from Initio also harmonizes perfectly with the other notes and increases my addiction to this fragrance. For me, it's a clear 10 in terms of scent. Longevity and sillage are rather average to good. Nevertheless, this fragrance impressed me so much that I bought it the very next day and am now writing my first review here.
With "Narcotic Delight," I have finally become a proud owner of an Initio bottle :))

Baccarat Rouge disguises itself as a bad doctor
I too have taken a liking to Baccarat Rouge - one of the best saffron fragrances currently available on the market. But as is typical with MFK, my wallet would suffer a bit, which is why I decided to purchase a dupe. Baccarat Rouge dupes are flooding the current market. A combination of poor decision-making and impulsive shopping led me to Ana Abiyedh Rouge, whose low price smiled at me.
Filled with joy, I sprayed it on my wrist and thought: “Yes! This is it! This is Baccarat Rouge with my beloved saffron note and that cotton candy-like scent.” However, this joy did not last long. After about ten minutes, disappointment unfortunately set in: a terrible, medicinal note became apparent, which smelled anything but pleasant. The previously beautiful and sweet saffron note was almost completely overshadowed by this synthetic hospital scent. And that’s exactly how I was perceived by those around me: no compliments, only comments like “Your other fragrances are better”…
In summary, Lattafa has done a rather poor job here. While the top note was hit, the dry down is far from the original. Those looking for a good alternative should better look elsewhere.
