Chai Latte in the Jungle
Today, Kenzo Jungle joined my vintage collection.
I was curious about this polarizing fragrance, where, as with all (today) lesser-known scents, there are often two camps.. The lovers and those who do not like such strong fragrances..
Well.. personally, I am drawn to scents that are not liked, simply to form my own opinion about them..
I am also a proud team player of the powerful fragrances, those that can blow houses away with their sillage.

Now to Kenzo..

I had been circling around this fragrance since summer.. should I? Shouldn't I?
Well, I gave in to my inner self.. and I do not regret it..
The scent is sooo unique.. my heart skips a beat.. something special, uniquely different, not something you smell on every corner..
I immediately smell something cinnamon-like, the clove combined with cardamom gives it that drive..
At the same time, there is something fruity (the mango with the mandarin) that adds a bit of sweetness, but not cloyingly sweet.. Wonderful..
The sunny aspect of the Jungle comes from vanilla and ylang-ylang.. beautifully intertwined and underscored by heliotrope and vanilla..

For me, Jungle as a vintage wearer is a time travel back to my young adult years, the 90s say hello so beautifully.. And I believe I remember this scent being quite common back then, as I know it from my subconscious.. this makes my personal discovery today all the more beautiful..

Now, let’s talk about the sillage..

Here, I got exactly what I love about fragrances.. blowing houses away.. and that with just 2 sprays ️..
And it delivers what it promises..
I have many beasts, but Jungle is a sillage monster, it ranks in a league with, for example, Arabian Tonka, so everything is done right..

Conclusion
Kenzo Jungle was a candidate that made me hesitate, my decision to buy it took a long time.. The hesitation is over, Kenzo is here and will be loved for its uniqueness and adored for its monstrous quality..
Personally, I see Jungle more as a summer candidate (of course in homeopathic doses) as I believe it will truly unfold its splendor through its fruity components, though I will also wear it now in winter and then compare it in summer..

Update to follow..

Blind Purchase with a Bang
M.04 moved in with me as a "let's give it a try" ... I wanted to know if it really is a pure sandalwood scent and if it lives up to the reputation it has as a pure molecule fragrance...
I like sandalwood in the base of other perfumes I own, especially in This is Her by Zadic & V...
So I ordered the thing and tried it as soon as it arrived...
First, I must say that I had no high expectations for M4, given my experiences with my other two Molecules (M1, M2 - I use them for layering; worn alone, they are just average for me), so much transparency must be maintained...
So I sprayed M4, first impression, yes, I like it, I immediately smelled the sandalwood cloud around me, and in a way that I didn't notice with M1 and M2, even though I'm not nose-blind, as often described...
What followed, however, was a bang effect for me...
The sillage... OMG...
There it was, the effect that I love and appreciate in perfumes... I can smell myself... and not just for a certain amount of time (which is normal) but throughout the entire wear...
That's how it should be... I generally wear perfumes for myself; it’s nice if the environment also gets a whiff (not in a penetrating way), including feedback, but that's not the reason I wear perfume...
I eagerly awaited the scent to fade... I was in a loop, M4 just wouldn't quit... time and again, the creamy woody sandalwood note wafted around me... my eyebrow raised in appreciative acknowledgment...
The day came to an end, bedtime...
Of course, before that, I did what one does, shower and so on... I could still smell myself afterward... slowly, the certainty crept in... this one has to be scrubbed off...
As usual, I applied one of my bedtime scents... now I wanted to know, the challenge was on...
What can I say, M4 "obliterated" my bedtime scent as well...
I went to bed with my sandalwood cloud (2 sprays in the morning) slightly weakened, of course...
The truth hit me in the morning...
Eyes open, there it was again, the sandalwood cloud...
Well... I was left with, admittedly, a mix of respectful awe for M4, nothing else but to layer a sandalwood-heavy top scent over it after my morning shower, which M4 survived again, in this case, Gris Charnel by BDK...

Conclusion to my M4 experience...

It is my most potent molecule fragrance, I love sandalwood, I will spend years with my 30 ml bottle (and that's a good thing), I have to think very carefully about if, when, and how long I want to smell like sandalwood and when it's better to keep my hands off the bottle to wear my other fragrances...
I never would have thought that there are ghosts in bottles that, once you call them, you can't get rid of...

Unknown Little Fruit
First review of Flavia .. Alright, here we go
Flavia Cherry Lust .. the name says it all .. First, let's look at the notes provided by the manufacturer since they are not listed here ..

Top: Sour Cherry, Bitter Almond
Heart: Plum, Turkish Rose, Jasmine Sambac
Base: Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Peru Balsam, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Vetiver

So .. what do you get ..

The scent starts as the top notes promise with a full blast of cherry and bitter almond .. this comes with a slightly alcoholic note that quickly dissipates .. after about 20 minutes, the heart notes join in, the plum is rather subdued while the rose and jasmine take center stage, but they remain well embedded in the still-present top note and play together nicely ..
After about 1.5 hours, the fragrance reaches the base with the top and heart notes still harmonizing well ..
And now this unknown little fruit shows its full potential .. And it does so mercilessly
All notes play a perfect concert of a real cherry bomb that doesn't come off too sugary (the top note remains stable throughout) the jasmine and rose complement the fragrance with a delicacy that, combined with patchouli and vetiver along with the tonka bean and sandalwood, creates the desired and hoped-for creaminess ️..
The bottle comes in a simple glass design, this really good fragrance is, as often with scents from the Middle East, reminiscent of the original Lost Cherry by TF..
I personally don't know the TF, as the often criticized longevity kept me from purchasing it ..
However, I can compare Cherry Lust with Rouge Smoking by BDK ..
And I think you can guess what comes next ..
Rouge Smoking is a beautiful fragrance, no question about it, I have it in my collection.. and now it gets tough for niche and BDK ..
Here too, what is often the case proves true .. The underdog beats the high-priced segment..
TF, BDK, and the Cherry Lust by Flavia that I am reviewing here are all cherry fragrances, similar in scent appeal to the clientele, cherry scents are in ..
Why does the underdog beat the brand?
Quite simply .. The P/L ratio makes it the clear winner ..
Also in terms of longevity, BDK couldn't convince me as the scent only lasts weakly, well .. As I said, I don't know TF for the reasons mentioned above, and I don't think it's necessary ..
I bought Cherry Lust as a "let's see what this can do" fragrance for just under 40 CHF for 100 ml online and had little to no expectations ..
Well ‍️ I was proven wrong ..
I get a cherry scent that I like, that performs well, and that lasts all day ..
What more could you want ..
Longevity for me is around 8-9 hours, sillage is in the upper medium range, you will be noticed ..
It's quite a thing with the underdogs, a reason to take a closer look more often..
In conclusion, I can say that Cherry Lust is the winner among all the cherry fragrances I own (BDK Rouge Smoking, Kayali) .. I often layer it with Flavia since they belong to the same fragrance family, and then it also works better with the other two in terms of longevity ️..

Cool Jasmine Dream
Here, Lattafa has really produced something great .. a cool jasmine dream in a beautifully crafted intertwining, which immediately evoked an association with Montale for me at the first sniff .. No, not the Montale DNA but something slightly metallic that contributes to the coolness of the fragrance ..
I distinctly perceive fruity notes with jasmine and a honey twist, which completely steers this fragrance away from the oriental flair and triggered a real Aha - effect for me, making me crave more ..
What can I say, it is the most extraordinary of my Lattafas and by now also the most worn, quite rightly so because it has class ..
Especially now in early spring, it's a no-brainer for me ..
We don't really need to talk about the successful presentation of the fragrance ..
As unusually beautiful as the scent is, so is the packaging; Lattafa really knows how to do it ..
P/L here is incredibly good and for us fragrance junkies, it's a refreshing change for the wallet
All in all, a great fragrance at a great price with a refreshing uniqueness ..
Longevity for me is around 8 hours with moderate sillage ..
Thank you Lattafa for this little treasure, it is loved

Men's fragrance delights a lady
Oud for Glory, a fragrance actually designated for men, came to me as a Christmas gift for my better half, as it probably did for many others. Of course, I tested it immediately upon arrival for its suitability for my sweetheart (he loves unusual, stronger scents).
I should have left it alone because what happened next made me laugh, and my first thought was quickly put into action.
As soon as I took the first sniff, it struck me: “I’m keeping this for myself,” and I will have to order it again because he will like it.
And so it happened, and now we both wear this gem.
Now to the scent...
It opens with a quite pronounced saffron, which you can immediately smell in its sweetness (BR 540 connoisseurs know what's going on), but it’s velvety embedded in a lavender bed with a noticeably underlying nutmeg note. I am thrilled.
After 15 minutes, everything melds into the oud and patchouli note, which lasts long, only to be rounded off in the drydown with a hint of musk, lingering for 8-9 hours.
As a woman, I am so taken with this fragrance that I wear it often and gladly, as it fascinates me throughout the day. Longevity for me is very good, sillage is not beast mode but gently perceptible for hours.
The bottle, of course, is reminiscent of the original, which is unmistakable; I don’t know the original scent-wise. Personally, I don’t need to because I am super happy with my Lattafa and look forward to wearing it every time, and that is ultimately what it’s all about.
In conclusion, I can firmly state that I have found a surprise winner for myself as a woman, which I do not regret keeping for myself.
Price/performance is top-notch here without discussion and deserves a solid 10.
Would I recommend this fragrance to other women?
Yes, if you enjoy extraordinary scents and have enough self-confidence to wear them.
No, if you generally don’t consider men’s fragrances and have no desire to engage with them.
It goes without saying that with Oud for Glory, you should not have any fear or aversion to oriental fragrances.
