Self-confidence to spray on
Oh, I love this fragrance! Hmmm, or is it perhaps a little too masculine for me? Well - it is quite spicy. But it's also very creamy, and the fig makes it very elegant and somehow also attractive, androgynous, modern, special ... This fragrance definitely stands out, and I imagine an incredibly stylish, natural, beautiful woman with a long black coat, straight brown hair, dark, thick eyebrows and neat, very subtle make-up wearing it. I also don't know why this image of a woman pops into my head when I smell the fragrance. I don't correspond to this image at all myself, but I still like wearing the fragrance. However, I have to say that the fragrance seems to be perceived and interpreted very differently by those around me.

Yes, it's really strange. I've just sprayed the fragrance on and I can definitely detect a strong medicinal note at first, but it fades quite quickly. Due to its strong spicy component, which is now increasingly and quite loudly fighting its way into the foreground, the fragrance is right on the edge of masculine. However, its creaminess makes it appear softer again, so that it remains more on the feminine side. As soon as I spray on Gris Charnel, I definitely feel more self-confident. This fragrance is a booster for anyone who could use a little more confidence at work or anywhere else.
And when I wear it, I usually get compliments. People say something completely different to me than I would expect based on my perception, namely that it smells creamy, well-groomed and floral on me (), a bit like Nomade Jasmin Naturell. Nevertheless, this fragrance is very striking and lingers in the memory. In its perception, however, a little fragrance chameleon:).

Oh, and a little question for you: I recently had a customer whose scent reminded me of Gris Charnel, but he was wearing Eros by Versace. Have you ever noticed a certain similarity here, or am I imagining it?

Cool security
I think Santal Blanc is polarizing. It seems to be perceived very differently and is somehow special. The first time I smelled it, I could clearly smell the fig milk, figs, sandalwood and musk. My father used to make his own sandalwood-scented shampoo and the scent immediately reminded me of the past and gave me a well-groomed, secure feeling. I don't know why, but despite the creaminess, it is a very unsweet, almost cool fragrance for me. The woody note is sometimes stronger, sometimes less strong, depending on my mood, but it is always present, just like the fig. The most beautiful thing for me about the fragrance is the haptic component, because for me the bottle is perfection par excellence. The smooth, cool, white glass, the click of the cap and the soft jingle of the ribbon with the pendant round off the elegant, simple, almost minimalist fragrance experience perfectly for me. Some may find this strange, but for me the aesthetics of the bottle always play a part in the fragrance experience. If the bottle is made of plastic or is too ugly for my taste, I have to decant the perfume, otherwise it spoils the overall impression for me ... well.
Santal Blanc is creamy, neat, cool, quiet, unsweet, somehow calm, minimalist and slightly distant, but still has something comforting about it. A promise or a memory. Like a bright room with gently billowing white curtains. It is a fragrance for quiet moments or walks after the rain. For me, it's an autumn fragrance that is incredibly strong even with just one spray and lasts a long time. Incidentally, when my son (14) smells the bottle, it immediately smells of coconut to him and he has beach associations. He said Santal Blanc was like a cool beach for him in summer. He doesn't like many fragrances, but he finds this one incredibly beautiful. Sometimes I don't even know if it really suits me - I'm neither cool nor aloof, but the bottle is so beautiful ... and it gives me a soft, secure feeling and is just somehow special.

I just love you ..
La Fille de l'air is a very fine, fresh, very bright and radiant, somewhat soapy floral fragrance that works best in shimmering heat, as it is even more refreshing, almost floating.

I can understand the associations with 4711 due to the Néroli note, but this composition here is much more elegant, floral, fluffy and multi-layered than the well-known cologne, and it has nothing old-fashioned or pungent about it. The fragrance is simply perfectly balanced!

Why I love it so much?

Of course, this has personal components again: A few years ago, my husband and I fulfilled a dream and drove all the way to Spain with our van and our children, who were still relatively young at the time. We stayed at many campsites, but the most beautiful place for all of us was in Carcassonne. We had a wonderful time there together. I had wanted to visit the castle for a long time because I loved "The Lost Labyrinth" by Kate Mosse so much. Yes - and there, in those little souvenir shops, they also sold fragrances from Grasse, of course. My favorite scent was called "Chèvrefeuille", for me the epitome of a hot summer day in the south of France. I wore it all the time and fell in love with it. Unfortunately, I only bought a small bottle of it, which was soon empty at home. Then last year we were in Bordeaux, and again in the shimmering heat, I discovered "La Fille de l'Air", which immediately transported me back to Carcassonne.

I bought 100 ml this time and find the pale pink bottle beautiful and unusual, like a sculpture or an unusual work of art in the hand. The fragrance has a great sillage and lasts for several hours on me. I think you either love such Néroli fragrances (also similar: Néroli-Orchidée by L'Occitane), or you hate them. For some they smell like bathroom cleaner, for others fine and elegant. For me, they arouse longing. But only if they are as well made as the Daughter or the Girl of the Air!

Cookies in the bookshop
This really is THE vanilla fragrance for anyone looking for a pure, warm, velvety, irresistibly delicious, not too synthetic vanilla. I don't think I know of any other vanilla fragrance that captures this so well. Although I also find Fire at Will and Vanitas incredibly beautiful (it's also the closest to it), but most fragrances have other twists, something citrusy or powdery about them. Vanille West Indies is like spraying on vanilla essence or vanilla butter.

The saleswoman in the perfumery had already warned me: "But be careful: one spray is enough! Otherwise you'll smell like a cookie!"

And today, out of sheer exuberance, I put two sprays on my neck before work - and what does my lovely but extremely shy colleague say to me: "Hmmm, somehow it smells so delicious here, like sweets from the Christmas market or cookies!"

I had to laugh a little - I must have turned into a walking cookie, which was a little embarrassing at first. But as my colleague kept coming up to me and sniffing me, it didn't seem too bad ...

Over the hours, the scent became more and more cozy, so that even when I was putting the books away, I was always happy that I smelled so delicious.

Now, almost 10 hours later, I can still smell the scent. I think it's also great for layering because the vanilla is so pure. Anything where you don't have enough vanilla: just put it on:).

That was my perfume experience today. Have fun wearing and testing it!

Signature fragrance
Orphéon - what a beautiful name for a fragrance. Unusual, memorable and somehow mystical.

With this composition, the perfumer actually wanted to reflect the Parisian nightlife of a jazz club in the 1960s, evoking clouds of smoke, rouge powder and patinated wood.

Actually ... because I don't know if it really smelled like that in the bar back then - all I know is that Orphéon immediately cast a spell over me and I liked it more with every second I wore it on my skin.

After a long search, Orphéon is THE fragrance that has unexpectedly become my signature scent. There are many fragrances that I love very much and that I fell in love with instantly, but a signature fragrance has to suit me on several levels - by the way, I think that these are very individual for everyone.

For me, a fragrance that I want to have around me every day should be rather pleasant but not too ordinary, rather calm but still long-lasting, pleasant, well-groomed, creamy, stylish and comfortably soft ... preferably with vanilla, but not too sweet ... and yet somehow grown-up. I want a little depth, but nothing that is too flowery or too heavy and could bother me over time.

That sounds almost impossible, but for me Orphéon combines all these qualities that I want for my signature fragrance.

You collect and sniff for years - you find a wonderful fragrance here and there, the collection grows and grows and you can no longer make up your mind - somehow they are all so beautiful, but none of them is quite me. But somehow you find your direction, your preferences and perhaps a little bit of yourself too.

And suddenly you realize that there it is, that one fragrance that fulfils everything you've ever wanted. You simply feel good with it and are happy every time a whiff touches your nose ... yes, I think you've found it after a long search, your signature fragrance. And then suddenly it doesn't hurt so much to let others go, because you know that something even more beautiful is waiting for you, something that just feels good, something that simply fits.
