Very Good Girl Glam Carolina Herrera 2022

A fun, punchy fragrance for a night out! It starts out with a sophisticated sour cherry candy scent and a nice rose settles on top as it dries to a light wood. When it comes to the Good Girl flankers I found I liked Very Good Girl Eau de Parfum more than Good Girl Blush Eau de Parfum when I tested them in stores, so I wasn't surprised when I liked this. Admittedly it's not something I'd reach for something super often but I could definitely see myself wearing this the next time I go to a party or have a night out.

I’d hoped this would stand out more from the original Very Good Girl, but unfortunately it smells almost identical. Just swap the lychee and red currant for a fleeting cherry and you get the same dry-down. That is to say, it isn’t an awful fragrance by any means, I just don’t feel it’s worth owning both. Longevity and sillage are more or less the same as well, though I do feel the original Very Good Girl has more projection. I only have a travel size, so when that’s empty I won’t be repurchasing.

I've never smelled the original or any of the other Good Girl flankers, and received this as a bonus decant vial from another order I placed. I normally dislike a vial application, but for this particular scent, it's probably a good thing - I could imagine with a spray, this could be too overwhelming. I'm wearing lots of pink today, and wanted something "pink" to wear so I decided to try this out. I definitely smell the strong cherry + almond opening, and it has a very fruity, girly vibe to it. Somehow it reminds me of a crisp sauv blanc, which is something I enjoy drinking but not so much as a fragrance to wear all day.

As it has dried down, it is giving me more floral (specifically rose) notes that I'm not much of a fan of. I'm a gourmand gal, and floral scents just don't do it for me, so I'm glad this was just a free decant for me to check out.

Very Good Girl Glam by Carolina Herrera Parfum is the latest flanker of the well known Good Girl line. To be more precise, this is the flanker of the flanker Very Good Girl. This perfume is sour and bright in the opening, playful, with a rose heart and a vanilla almondy dry down and it has good performance. I got this as a 2 ml sample almost a year ago and found it again yesterday. I was curious since there is a lot of hype around CH's fragrances (even if a few people are on my side regarding the hideous gendered bottles). I sprayed 2 sprays on my forearms and immediately asked my partner, "can you feel any smell?".

The fragrance is a weak, most synthetic rose, more like a rose scented soap bar or kids shampoo than a perfume. I'm almost anosmic to it, the only note of the top- and heart that I can feel is the rosewater. How much does this perfume cost again...?

The drydown comes quickly after about 2 hours. Again I'm surprised by the abysmal quality of the notes. No vetiver to my nose, only an extremely headache inducing vanilla. I'm almost impressed - it's so weak, yet so irritating. Mind you I'm not sensitive to fragrance, I enjoy 80's flower bombs and even 90's cinnamon notes.

If CH had chosen higher quality ingredients this might have been OK and matched it's price range. I'm missing the cherry, almond, and vetiver. I'm afraid this would have been better off as that bar of soap.
