Roja Enigma & Elysium are releasing a shower gel version
Sedley reminds me of a fusion of Elysium & Enigma by Roja.
A very, very interesting progression in my eyes and a beautiful men's perfume. My new favorite.

Scent:
Dawn. The alarm clock rings. He stays in bed a little longer and stretches... Like every morning, he catches a whiff of Elysium from the day before and breathes it in deeply before getting up for the day. No one is awake yet. The streets are quiet. It’s his favorite time of day. Everything is peaceful and still. No one but himself is present. His thoughts belong only to him.
In the kitchen, he boils water for his daily fresh mint tea. He tends to a plant for this... the tea bags don’t have the same aroma.

The morning shower is set to slightly warmer temperatures. He is not a quick showerer. He uses the dawn to think in the shower and prepare himself for the day. He gathers his strength as the warm water completely traces and embraces the contours of his back. He closes his eyes.

The booze from the fresh & citrusy shower gel with small rosemary peeling beads and the warmth that spreads in the bathroom after the shower heats his skin. His skin is steaming.
He looks out the window. The minimalist lavender plant sits on the windowsill. The sun is just about to rise.

He opens the window to let the almost incense-like heavy steam in the bathroom lighten up. He needs the freshness in the morning.
The wind is so light, calm, and pleasant. It immediately takes away the heavy, stuffy air in the bathroom. His skin stops steaming.

Something is missing... a tiny spritz of Enigma. He detects a subtle cola hint mixed with the morning fresh shower.
The first rays of sunlight are breaking. The day can begin.
-------

A truly beautiful men's perfume. :) I kept thinking about what it reminded me of, and now I know.
If Roja Enigma and Elysium had a collaboration and released it as a shower gel, it would surely smell like this.

It must be said that the light cola hint comes in the drydown, which took a very good hour for me.

I suspect that the combination of bergamot - geranium - sandalwood gives off the "cola" similar vibe. Exactly these three notes are also in the same order in Enigma. :) Here, of course, not as sweet as in Enigma. Perhaps even nicer because of that...
One could consider it a slight hint of cola lemon. ;) in shower gel format.

I love it. ♥️

Masculine Mon Guerlain

The fact that Layton was presented to me as apple vanilla cake and thus gourmand had influenced my expectations in advance. By the way, I didn't perceive any such notes during the first use. Therefore, I set Layton aside for a later test.

Scent:
The drydown of Layton takes time. An estimated 3 hours of development were needed before I could perceive the subtly vanilla, sweet notes. For this reason, Layton did not pass the first test. I judged too hastily.

Does anyone remember the scent when a cake is being baked and the oven is opened? The warm aroma that spreads in the kitchen?
Sweetly warm "cake" hangs in the air, I strongly perceive green juicy apples with a lavender garnish as well as predominant jasmine flowers. However, there are not (!) direct cake or gourmand associations. It is the sweetly warm air as already described.

Layton is a floral sweet perfume for men & not an apple cake gourmand in my eyes. The apple note remains subtly in the background and sometimes makes itself known with a hint.

Layton reminds me of Mon Guerlain for women. The vibe is similar. I am very surprised that no one has noticed this so far. In comparing the accords, I am not wrong either. They are almost identical.
Bitter lavender, narcotic jasmine, and sweetly fragrant & warm vanilla pod as interesting players. Here, just for the gentlemen with a subtle apple in the background.

Since I love Mon Guerlain, I naturally also love Layton incredibly on a man. The masculine Mon Guerlain! I love it very much.

P.S. H+S is TOP!

Cool and Serious in Everyday Life, Deep and Multifaceted Heart in Leisure Time
As I already noticed with the more serious counterpart Elysium, Roja shines with its drydown. Here too, I am absolutely overwhelmed by the delicious scent. Please be patient! You will be rewarded.

Enigma is for the gentleman who wants to transition from his hard and successful workday into his leisure time with Elysium. His workday consists of a work-conform, strongly cool attitude in a suit and elevated professionalism. Everything is perfectly organized. No mistakes. Not too many emotions. That is Elysium.
In his leisure time, the serious and cool facade is shed.
The gentleman leaves the workplace elegantly and gracefully with Elysium and enters his well-deserved leisure time with Enigma.

Scent:
Every few days, after work, he buys a single red rose. No. Not for a lady. He buys the beautiful rose for himself. He likes to have a rose on his dresser in a vase and makes sure to always have one. He loves little details. The flower shop smells so beautifully green and pure. Just for this scent, it’s worth buying a single rose after work, where he usually only smells files, papers, and leather.

He buys an ice-cold Vanilla Cola Zero at the nearest kiosk in a glass. It has to be glass, and the cola must be chilled. Otherwise, the cola doesn’t taste right and won’t be bought.

He asks for ginger because he always enriches his cola with ginger. No one but him drinks the beverage this way. After a long workday, he needs the extra ginger too. It’s like a kick for him that reminds him of how successful he was today.

Of course, he doesn’t need a straw. He always has his own cleaned black leather straw with him. He wouldn’t use a plastic one. That’s just not him.
The first sip of this cola and a fresh breeze of wind blows into his face. Finally survived the day.

Upon arriving home, the gentleman drinks a small shot of cognac in a heavy glass made of 100% crystal. He sits down in his brown leather chair, places his keys on the wooden dresser, and neatly and conscientiously puts his brown briefcase on the floor. To enjoy the cognac, a cigar must be smoked. This is not smoked to the end. The gentleman doesn’t smoke. It’s more about the ritual.

The day is over.

Enigma is definitely as sexy as its cool counterpart Elysium! I believe a man cannot wear better perfumes. These two are my personal must-haves for men.
While Elysium remains serious, conscientious, and professional without appearing playful, Enigma is like the revelation of the not-so-serious soul of a man who isn’t as serious in his leisure time as he has to be at his workplace. This man has a multifaceted and unfathomable heart.

A huge recommendation to you men. I love it. :) However, both women and men must like sweet scents. My mom didn’t like it at all.

Ps, no, I was not inspired by any YouTube videos & opinions of well-known (and unknown to me) YouTubers. I receive my samples as gifts or order them myself, and I review the ones I like. :)

And if the world were black and white, the mysteriously cool beauty would stand out
This perfume transported me back twelve years. :)
A time when my mom was still very athletic and full of energy, wearing her neat Tommy Hilfiger blouses with fabric trousers, racing around in her always incredibly clean black car :D. Yes, my mom was a woman with a past and hair in her teeth, full of energy.
This very essence is embodied by the perfume.
The first spray simply reminded me of her.

Scent:
At first, I perceive pomegranate and kiwi (?). Quite unisex and with a bitter shampoo vibe. Like a Pantene pro V in unisex.
Shortly after, subtly (!!) creamy notes join in that further emphasize the woody unisex note. This probably comes from the lotus.
The drydown brings a bitter woody and pure deep black floral splendor. The orchid is deep black with slight violet traces. It is aloof, and one observes it from afar ... out of respect. An orchid that can withstand icy cold temperatures, thriving without love and care. Nothing holds it back. It is strong, straightforward. No half measures.
Even if the whole world were to lose its colors and everything were black and white ... this orchid would still stand out with its deep dark black color. It cannot get darker. It is different. The orchid resonates in the drydown with a hint of Pantene V unisex shampoo vibe with pomegranate syrup aroma.

I have fallen for the perfume. I love it. It smells aloof, successful, focused, and discreet. On one hand, the perfume reminds me of familiar notes and tries in vain to connect associations ... on the other hand, it smells so extraordinarily reverent and different.

I gifted the perfume to my mom, as I associate it with her and couldn't turn it off. Strangely enough, she felt the same way as I did. It was love at first spray for her.

A huge recommendation for this absolutely underrated perfume. The wearer of this perfume is lucky to smell different for little money and yes ... mysteriously successful.

P.S. It leans towards Coco Mademoiselle Chanel in a gothic variant that has experienced much and no longer shows joy of life overtly but remains quietly, darkly, and gloomily for itself.
My mom can also easily imagine making this her signature scent. :)

Noble, serious, and with a higher position: Dad of Aventus
I must honestly say that the perfume does not smell unfamiliar. I am not well-versed in the fragrance area for the gentlemen among us. Nevertheless, it smells old familiar and is thus a crowdpleaser. :)

My first association was: could this be the citrusy and lavender-tinged serious father of Aventus. :)
While Aventus scores with playful fruity and definitely youthful notes of clear pineapple, Elysium remains elegant, stricter, and "neater" due to the citrus/lavender notes. It comes across as incredibly clean, noble, and grown-up! Less playful. (If you like Aventus, you can't go wrong with Elysium!)

In any case, with the first spray, bergamot and lemon come out very well! These are basically the first notes that stand out spontaneously without knowing the fragrance pyramid.

If I were to summarize the top and heart notes as a story, then Elysium in the top and heart notes would be a thyme-lemon-lavender lemonade that you can sometimes order in the summer at well-known restaurant chains on the limited edition menu. Unsweetened, of course! For decoration and garnish, the drink is infused with a jasmine flower. The drink is served with ice cubes that have been refined with small peppercorns to give the unsweetened drink a certain kick. :)

The drydown brings me the biggest surprise! Elysium has its most beautiful face in the drydown, and I can't stop smelling my wrist. Such beauty.
To give the lemonade even more kick, the plastic straw is replaced with a noble and high-quality robust straw made of leather. The leather straw brings boozy woody notes (especially benzoin) into the drink. Next level!
Additionally, a real bourbon vanilla pod is freshly scraped and placed directly into the drink. An apparent sweetness lingers without the drink being sweetened at all... the bourbon vanilla pod smells so delicious and authentic that the perceived sweet notes can be sensed without any cheap added sugar being necessary.

I really have to say. Alongside Lost Cherry and Aventus, this is one of my TOP favorites for men so far.
It smells soooo attractive! I already have a headache because I can't stop inhaling deeply. :D Recommendation to you gentlemen!
With Elysium, a man smells clean & well-groomed, noble, and successful.
Sexy! :)

Edit:
I believe that Elysium somewhat reminds me of Bleu de Chanel. Just with a much cooler and more expensive beautiful performance! Elysium has more robust notes and smells somewhat less mainstream in comparison.
In the designer area, Bleu de Chanel can be a choice... even if it's not a dupe!
