K.O. in the First Round
Disclaimer: The title of this comment should not be misunderstood!

When I first fell in love with fragrances, I often had the pleasure of sniffing through the top-notch selection at Vollmar in Bonn, which was of great help in moving away from boring designer scents. There is a wonderful saleswoman there whose name I unfortunately do not know.
She first carefully mapped out the terrain of my taste with some suggestions before precisely addressing my preferences.

On the day in question, I must have tested about 40 fragrances before my nose was completely saturated.
But I didn’t want to leave, and it was clear that I would stay...

Yes, a nice song that quite well describes my mood that day.
I made one last loop through the sales area and, oh, what is that? Lion? No, Loewe after a friendly correction of my German pronunciation, not knowing that it is a Spanish product. I don’t remember why I chose El cielo, but it was definitely the right choice.
The top note really knocked me off my socks! After that, I sprayed my T-shirt well to also enjoy this wonderful creation at home.
And indeed, the scent is made for me! Until then, I had only experienced this with three other fragrances: Oud save the King by Atkinsons was the very first time, then Black II by Widian, and finally Star Musk by Xerjoff (which olfactorily and price-wise plays in a different league).

I tested it two more times, and it convinced me completely each time. The following week, this red sign with "-20% on Everything!" was hanging on the outside wall of the store, and I couldn't resist, especially since I actually had enough money (which is rarely the case as a student). K.O. in the first round.
The scent is nowhere to be found for under €200, so it was quite a deal to get it for really €40 less and not like it often goes with the fabricated percentages on the internet or at the Turquoise stores....

Long story short: A real steal that I really enjoy wearing!
The top note is simply phenomenal, Ginger, Neroli, and Tangerine are having a lively trio.
And what I also find really great about this scent is that it has a real progression.
The top note lasts about 10 to 15 minutes, then the heart comes through.
I didn’t notice the strong Jasmine in the heart at first; it’s the only thing that bothers me just a tiny bit, but it also fades away at the latest an hour after spraying.
Then the wonderful base of Amber, Cocoa, and Frankincense comes through, which lasts a long time on my skin. Unfortunately, my nose gets used to scents quite quickly, and after two to three hours, I hardly perceive it anymore, but I have had several confirmations that it can still be perceived quite well after 5h+.
My solution: spray on the back of the top, then every now and then, nice scent waves come to the nose, but you don’t get used to it and can still smell it after several hours.

Conclusion: Anyone who likes citrus fruits, cocoa, and frankincense should definitely give it a try!

Ambré almond/sunscreen?
I discovered this fragrance when I visited the historic Molinard factories in Grasse this August.
Following the relatively short tour, we were herded like cattle into the in-house sales room and could test the entire range.
Just to give you a heads-up: It was a big disappointment. From such a traditional company, I believe more is to be expected than simply constructed fragrances without any recognizability.

After testing the cheaper fragrances (my beloved and I) we then moved on to the pompously displayed fragrances from de la collection privée and... were disappointed.
What immediately caught the eye were the fragrances displayed on spotlights (WTF? The bottles were definitely 30 degrees warm and were continuously illuminated from the bottom. Perhaps that's why it's also called Amber of Light).
Upon inquiry, we received the 5 fragrances from the Collection that hadn't been cooked for days yet.

With prices of €150 per bottle for 90ml, we felt pretty cheated, not to mention the absence of samples, and that at the source!
When we asked the friendly but stressed staff, we were then given 1ml each of Cher Wood and Ambré Lumière in a small vial.

Now, two weeks later, I finally had time to test the fragrances extensively.
AL starts off very sweet with a strong, almost gag-inducing almond note that is probably pushed by the vetiver.
After half an hour, this strong sweetness subsides a bit and more grounded notes come in, presumably patchouli and musk.
Somehow, this fragrance strongly reminds me of sunscreen, though I can't quite say why.
Over time, the fragrance becomes more bearable for me, although I wouldn't voluntarily slather myself with it again.
I was expecting Ambre, and in the manner of Ambre Nuit by Dior, which in my opinion contains real ambergris and not just amber-like molecular soup from the Wingthzu-Takiwakilabor in Indonesia....

In short: A pretty big disappointment at a way too high price.
But please don't let my review deter you from testing this fragrance; it will surely find a few adepts in the community.

Beautiful Oud
A pleasant oud scent for the colder days, definitely too strong or intense in the summer.
I would find it more attractive on men.
The longevity is good and the sillage is strong to very strong.
Anyone who likes oud should give it a try.

This one is amazing!
Totally underrated, perfect balance.
If I had the necessary funds, I would already have two of them in my closet as a backup.

It starts off very oriental for my taste and then becomes softer and more accessible for "uneducated" noses.
I can't comment on the fragrance pyramid, it just smells really good.

The sillage could be a bit stronger, but otherwise it's perfect.
Definitely worth trying!

My Best Friend
By chance, I stumbled upon this extraordinary perfume in a well-stocked store in Bayreuth, where a saleswoman sprayed something on a test strip for me. It was love at first... how should I say... sniff.

I immediately felt well-suited and was very surprised to still perceive the scent the next day after showering, even though I am a smoker. My girlfriend also thought it was great.
Two days later, after testing it again, I bought it and have not regretted it for a second since. My only companion since then has been the question of how much longer there will be something in the bottle, as it is completely opaque
and hard to gauge.

For some, it may be a bit too heavy of a scent, but for me, it is just perfect.
The Earl Grey and bergamot are nicely present in the opening, and the leather in the heart note as well. Towards the end, a sweet hint of sandalwood lingers for a long time.
I already associate many memories with this scent, even though I have only had it for about eight months.

I highly recommend it for anyone who likes it a bit sweeter and extravagant.
Unfortunately, you can only find it in well-stocked perfumeries.
