Emerging out of the Amber Star Shadows
Everyone is always talking about Amber Star so my expectations haven't been the highest. So how is it?

It is a captivating fragrance that exudes elegance and sensuality. It opens with a burst of citrusy bergamot, sparkling and invigorating. As the scent unfolds, a velvety bouquet of white flowers emerges, including delicate jasmine and intoxicating ylang-ylang, adding a touch of creativity and conveying a slight tropical feel.

At the heart of Star Musk lies a rich and creamy musk accord, enveloping you in a warm embrace. This musk is beautifully enhanced by hints of sweet vanilla and a subtle touch of aromatic cedarwood. The combination creates a harmonious blend that is both comforting and alluring.

As the fragrance settles on your skin, it reveals a lingering trail of soft musk, leaving a lasting aura around you.
Overall, luxurious in all aspects. Heavenly musk accords and captivating floral notes. It is a fragrance that will undoubtedly leave an indelible impression wherever you go, man or woman.

Between Dream and Reality
I must confess that I had not had much contact with XerJoff so far, and even had some sort of prejudice or a preconceived opinion against the brand. Apart from "Fars," no fragrance had convinced me enough to purchase it.
Yes, I knew that there was this infamous special edition consisting of 50ml each of "Amber Star" and "Star Musk" at the absurd price of over €600. Point taken, no more and no less.

However, that was supposed to change during my last and wonderfully beautiful visit to Berlin. Our path led us to "The Different Scent." A rather inconspicuous shop that completely does without chrome, large glass surfaces, and sophisticated lighting systems of modern fragrance temples, and instead offers a huge selection of scents along with very personal and unobtrusive advice. Initially unusual for me, but the shop has something, and you feel comfortable right away. Basically, you don’t need more.

At some point, I came across "Amber Star" and "Star Musk" there. Initially, of course, on paper (no, I’m not putting XerJoff on my skin that quickly), but then, following the first pleasant impression, I had to do a skin test. Left arm "Star Musk," right arm "Amber Star." Well then, let’s see.

And the two gave their all, developing more and more from minute to minute, doing everything to convince me, to sustainably change my perception of XerJoff. A sort of redemption, so to speak.

In the race for my favor, "Star Musk" quickly took the lead. "Amber Star" is by no means a bad fragrance, but it didn’t appeal to me as much as the one from the white bottle. Of course, I didn’t think of layering both fragrances. Who knows what that would have turned into. I will definitely catch up on that.

And so I stood in the shop, noticing how "Star Musk" brought an ever-wider smile to my face. I couldn’t help it. Was it really the fragrance, or was it the charm of the moment that contributed to my enjoyment? Because what could be more beautiful than being out with loved ones, feeling completely comfortable, and believing that you have discovered an ultimate fragrance treasure?
Looking back, I can say that the surroundings contributed to it, but the fragrance has also retained its fascination for me at home (unfortunately?!).

But what makes this fascination?

"Star Musk" starts with a very fine and soft mandarin-amber combination. The mandarin (peel) has a slightly sour-bitter aroma without appearing too citrusy and blends wonderfully with the amber and some white flowers, which I unfortunately cannot name.
Gradually, patchouli (pleasantly sweet), sandalwood (very fine), iris (powdery), and light cinnamon notes come into play. Everything seems to merge somehow; there are no longer individually recognizable fragrance notes, but a melange of various scent notes.
At this point, "Star Musk" lies like a fine melt on my skin, touching both senses and soul equally. This fragrance is sweet, but not kitschy or unbearably sweet. The sweetness here has a certain seriousness, coming across as mature and not playful.
This impression intensifies the closer you get to the base. The musk is non-soapy, noble, fine, and, of course, sweet. And time and again, vanilla and sandalwood weave through the fragrance like golden threads of light.

The fragrant activity is simply too beautiful and grand to resist.

At least I cannot resist "Star Musk," as this fragrance has such elegance, radiance, and persuasive power that I can’t help but like it. This scent almost envelops me protectively, warms and comforts me, and conveys an absolutely positive feeling. It inspires me in its very special and almost unique way.

Love declaration? Dream? Reality? Apology to XerJoff? Yes!!

"Star Musk" has completely captured me, and I fear that I must now start saving up ;-))

Addiction.....
Carrie Bradshaw is addicted to shoes......I am clearly addicted to perfume. Although the scent of leather shoes, leather bags, and leather jackets also feels like perfume to me.
I am still in shock.....I did it. I treated myself to the Xerfoff double pack with my Christmas money. I owe a dear perfume friend for the wonderful Amber Star; there were only a few drops left in the bottle to sniff, and my scent center immediately sounded the want-it alarm. Then I researched how to get the fragrance, because unfortunately I live in a fragrance province.....but the surroundings are beautiful, and I don't want to leave here:-))
Then I found out that Amber Star is only available, as already mentioned, with its white brother.
The thought of spending that much money on a fragrance made my heart race.....but the want-it was stronger.
What can I say, black and white have moved in with me, and I must say the white has overwhelmed me. It was love at first sight.
If love were a fragrance, it would be Star Musk for me......it is soft and primarily creamy, delicate-powdery and sweet, slightly woody....also mysterious, mystical.
I find it hard to name the individual scent components. For me, they are wonderful creamy-sweet, lightly toasted clouds, or even better, a cream-white cashmere sweater to snuggle into.
A fragrance to close your eyes and dream.
I would estimate the longevity at about 8 hours; the sillage is not overwhelming but well noticeable.

This fragrance and its black brother have an honorary place on my fragrance dresser, and the price - what the heck - you only live once - right?

A Sweet Cloud of Musk
You can't accuse Xerjoff of being timid, because creating such an expensive musk fragrance that also comes across as sweet - that's not common in this exquisite class. You can feel however you want about it - but people like me, with a sweet nose, can't hate it. And the way Star Musk and Amber Star complement each other so well, almost like two sides of the same coin, and can be layered beautifully, is thoughtful and commendable. Perfect for my double test today, as they are also offered in a limited double set.

Imagine Star Musk like this: a cloud surrounds you. Bright, radiant, inviting. So delicious, sugary, powdery and sweet like cotton candy. But deluxe cotton candy, as if you would spend €25 for one. A hint of slightly burnt caramel adds to it, and the animalistic undertones of the musk are negligible on my skin. Rather, a few floral elements are worth mentioning, perhaps magnolia, definitely a lot of iris, which explains the enormous powderiness. If there ever was a fair for the upper echelons, it would smell somewhat like this. A heavenly cotton candy stand. I definitely give this fragrance a star on my Walk of Fame. There are only slight deductions in the B-note due to its quickly perceived linearity.

Bottle: Italy meets the Orient - it couldn't be more beautiful.
Sillage: strong, but despite the musk & cotton candy style, it’s not overly heavy.
Longevity: 7-9 hours is certainly much less than its darker brother, but still very good.

Conclusion: Star Musk is one of the most precious and beautiful musk fragrances of all time for me. You really have to be very averse to sweet scents not to find this wonderful.

BUTTERSOFT
Yes, I did it.. & spent a lot of money to get my hands on and welcome the Holy Grail. I can now greet Amber Star & Star Musk in my collection and I still can't quite realize it. I feel a twinge of guilt, but also pure joy when I look at the two bottles. God, how much I love the appearance of the black/white siblings.

But now to the scent: I have never smelled such a soft and creamy musk fragrance. The title says it all: buttersoft! It is floral and sweet, yet it feels incredibly elegant. This scent is addictive. I perceive a very light spiciness, which I really like. My partner also likes it very much on me, and I've already received a compliment or two.

I will wear these two fragrances with great joy. It makes the day, the evening, the situation, or whenever I wear it something truly special.

Powdery amber with a woody drydown. Scent is unisex & fall-winter, but as a stand-alone, it's very plain and has poor value.
