Comfy and clean
I tried this fragrance on a very lazy Sunday morning indeed. Climbing out of bed, wearing a soft and comfy pair of pajamas, this perfume felt very at home on me. It's a clean laundry scent, like sheets just pulled out of the dryer - still warm, fresh and inviting, it feels somehow both lazy and productive at the same time.
This is the kind of fragrance I can see myself reaching for on a day when I have to work through a list of chores, but would much rather be cozied up in bed - it's a nice way to bring that comfy feeling along with you.
I was quite impressed with the staying power of this perfume, too. For a rather delicate laundry style scent, especially an EDT, it lasted on my skin throughout the most of my day. Sillage wasn't really there, but it did have medium projection, creating that lovely bubble of comfort around me. Definitely not a scent that shouts out loud and demands your attention, but you'll be glad it's there all the same.

Sadly, a miss
I really wanted to like this fragrance. It went on as a lovely, almost jammy kind of citrus scent. It was fresh and sweet - like sitting on the grass, eating marmalade sandwiches in the sunshine.
Unfortunately, on my skin it had practically no staying power at all. Very little projection, very skin close, and within an hour it was completely gone. I don't usually have a problem with citrus scents having low staying power on my skin, and was really surprised at just how quickly this one faded away.
I know that the Replica collection is kind of notorious for not staying around very long, especially as EDTs, but this one was just extremely disappointing. I can't see myself wanting to get a full bottle of this any time soon, despite the lovely initial fragrance, because for the price it just vanishes way too fast.

A Surprise Hit
Years ago, Lush/Guerilla Perfumes used to sell a fragrance called All Good Things. It was my signature, the scent that I wore almost exclusively through 2016/17 whilst I studied at art school. It was discontinued shortly after, and I've been clinging on to the last few milliliters left at the bottom of the bottle since, only digging it out on very special occasions.
Out of all the scents from the Replica discovery kit, I wasn't expecting By The Fireplace to be much of a hit. I hadn't looked into the notes yet, but from the name I was expecting a cosy scent, perhaps a bit woody and warm with some tea notes.
When I sprayed it on, I could have cried. This is the closest thing that I've smelled to All Good Things in years - it could pass as a dupe. It's smokey, sweet, woody, a bit spicy, and has that exact "candyfloss and bonfires" element that made AGT so addicting to me in the first place. Breathing it in, it was uncanny how vividly it took me back to 2017 - we say that scent is closely tied to memory, and if there's anything that proves it for me, it is this. I can remember exact outfits that I wore to college, sitting at my desk and the faces that sat around me, carrying my sketchbooks down to the library... It made me quite emotional.
By The Bonfire is a sweet number - almost sugary - blissfully underlined by a beautiful spicy and smokey note. It's also incredibly long lasting, especially for one of the Replica scents (which I have found to be lacking in both projection and longevity). I sprayed this perfume shortly after waking up, and I am writing this review at the end of my day, after showering, and I can still smell it on my wrists.
For me, discovering this scent alone made the Replica discovery scent worth it. It's beautiful, nostalgic and long lasting, and will be a staple for me going forwards. I'm so glad to have finally found a replacement for my old signature.

Soapy, bubbly and warm
This was my most anticipated scent from the Replica discovery set, and I was quite worried that it wouldn't be what I wanted it to be. Coconut being one of the base notes had me concerned that it would be overpowering, like the coconut cream that really put me off of Beach Walk.
Initially, I wasn't quite sure about Bubble Bath. I think I had this idea in my head of what it would be like - soapy, steamy, almost chemically clean. This fragrance definitely isn't that, and for the first half an hour of wearing it I was really on the fence with how it made me feel. It took about another hour for the patchouli and musk to come through, and by then I knew exactly what this scent was about - and I was firmly on board.
Bubble Bath is a fragrance that captures the moment you've just got out of the bath. Soap suds might still cling to your shoulders, there's warmth in the air and a lovely creamy scent of body lotion. You're wrapped in a warm towel, and enjoying a few more moments of calm before stepping back into the real world.
This scent is surprisingly long lasting, especially for a Maison Margiela Replica fragrance - I've found many others in this set lacking in their longevity. However, even after a full day of being out and about I was still able to smell this quite clearly. It's hypnotically addictive, something about it had me holding my wrist to my nose at multiple points throughout the day.
Definitely one of the better scents from the discovery kit, and maybe the only one so far that I'd be interested in purchasing a full bottle of.

Bad name, cloying smell
This fragrance really isn't for me. The name alone gives it a teeny/immature vibe, which doesn't bode well for the scent.
I wouldn't actually say that this fragrance smells childish - almost the opposite. It's very mature. This is my first time trying a scent with frankincense in it, and oh gosh it is really not for me. The initial dry down of this perfume was lovely, the fresh coriander and carrot seeds made for a really unique combination. For a while, I could really feel the vision that this perfume promised - walking through the woods on a crisp autumn day, surrounded by trees and shrubs.
Unfortunately, a few hours later and all I can smell is frankincense. This is the longest wearing Maison Margiela EDT I've tried so far, and I really wish it wasn't. All of the freshness from earlier in the day is gone, leaving behind a heavy, cloying scent that isn't anywhere as woody as it needs to be to feel like it belongs in Autumn Vibes (again, I can not stand that name).
If you love - and I mean LOVE - frankincense and other heavy resin scents, then this might be the fragrance for you. I am sadly not the person for this perfume, but that's why we get samples before buying!
I do also get the pickle/tartar sauce note that a few others have mentioned, but it's quite faint. If I hadn't read it here and specifically been searching for it I doubt that I would have noticed it.
