Warm, spicy, comforting creamy chaï fragrance!
Now that I've been on this fragrance journey for a few months, I decided to get back to the first fragrances I bought at the beginning and review them with my newly aquired knowledge. This is one of them.

I got Fall Cashmere as a sampler when I bought stuff at Sephora. Wasn't expecting much, but I was immediately blown away by this warm creamy, spicy, and comforting scent. It immediately conjured up images of a well-blended chaï tea with a hint of cream. Ginger, cinnamon and clove blend together to create this astounding soft but warm and spicy accord that I just keep going back to. I do get people who think it smells like some kind of generic autumn-type of candles because it lingers at the border of it (cloves and cinnamon are thoroughly used in generic fall candles), but to me it goes way deeper than that. There's a certain complexity to it that I associate with the spice blend of a hot cup of creamy chaï tea. The spices linger a long time on my skin (which is a good thing) and it ends up drying into notes that I love (vanilla, amber, sandalwood). The sandalwood brings out this grounded woody accord that blends well with the spices. This one doesn't need a lot of sprays to leave a sillage: I've had comments from my coworkers that I have sprayed on too much (although I always spray the same amount), so be careful.

I have a full bottle in my collection and I will keep buying one until it becomes discontinued. It fullfills very well my need for a warm spicy fragrance during the colder days!

Nice for a body mist!
I own the body cream, the hand cream, the shower gel and the perfume. Do I love Sol de Janeiro' Chaeirosa '62 scent? You bet I do! Since I have all of them, I have detected that they each have a slightly different smell. This one leans heavily towards a nutty accord because of the almond and pistachio with the vanilla and caramel backing it up with this sweet creamy scent. I detect almost no flowers or salt notes (I might have picked a little bit of salt during the drydown). The scent is a bit more artificial than the other products in this line which is why I like it a bit less, but it's still a good fragrance. I like to put this one on my hair when I'm wearing the perfume.

Unfortunately, since it's a body mist it doesn't last very long (1-2 hours). They also have recently upped the price on Sephora and I'm not sure I want to spend that much money for a body mist. Although it's definitely a love for me, I'm not sure I'll be picking up another bottle when I finish mine.

Herbal green tea steeped in citruses and roses
Searching for a fresh green tea scent that lasts, I stumbled upon this one from Maison Margiela. I was already interested in this house and had already bought the discovery set. Didn’t realize this perfume was in the scent, which is why I have a decant and a full bottle in my collection. Oh well!

When I first sprayed it, the first words that came to my mind were: refined and sophisticated. I'm immediately met with this amazing green tea note that features a fresh spicy kick (probably due to the lovely blend of petitgrain, cardamom, mate and coriander). It's such a beautiful green, elevated scent! It's probably what I wanted Elizabeth Arden's interpretation to be like: a nice dose of fresh and green accords, with a well-blended dose of spices. There is a faint citrus undertone which adds to the freshness of this perfume, reminiscent of spring and warmer days to come. After about 30 minutes, there's a musky, slightly powdery, rose scent that seems to mingle with the green tea composition although there aren't any rose notes. With my limited botanical knowledge, I’m guessing it’s the cistus flower that is coming through. The drydown is a lovely woody and musky rose scent with a background of green tea.

Overall, it's truly lovely fragrance if you want a sophisticated green tea scent with a hint of spices and roses. I would've loved if the green tea aspect had lingered longer and been a little bit stronger, but the rose and musk are well-blended. It's a scent best worn in spring and summer for a refreshing and uplifting moment. I'm not sure the name of the fragrance represents its scent well, nevertheless I do see myself wearing it under the gentle breeze of fragrant branches of a citrus grove.

A timeless classic!
I own both this one and the "J'adore Parfum d'Eau | Dior" by mistake. When I started my journey into fragrances, I wasn't aware of flankers, so when I tried the J'adore Parfum d'Eau as a sampler that came with a Sephora purchase, I fell in love. I spotted a 50ml bottle of J'adore Eau de Parfum at a fragrance discount shop only to realize later the mistake I had made. Nonetheless, I have both in my collection which has allowed me to compare the OG to its flanker.

There's a sting of alcohol that rapidly dissipates, leaving behind this amazing fresh, floral and fruity scent. It's heavenly beautiful, put-together and mature. There's nothing synthetic in here, only bright and captivating notes. It's a timeless classic for a reason. Ylang-ylang impart this delicate, creamy accord while damask rose offer a fruity sweetness. Both jasmine flowers are beautiful and milky, not indolic or powdery. The perfume is silky smooth, velevety and pure in a divine way. It clearly leans feminine to me because of the florals. If you're in search of a perfume that respects floral compositions, this one is it. There's a certain depth to it as the flowers unfurl their petals and their odors. I do associate this one with a more mature crowd (I picture a woman in her mid thirties to fifties wearing this), but don't let my impressions stop you from wearing it whatever your age is!

A creamy floral flanker that stands on its own
At one point, I owned both this one and the "J'adore (Eau de Parfum) | Dior" by mistake. When I started my journey into fragrances, I wasn't aware of flankers or what they were. When I tried the J'adore Parfum d'Eau as a sample that came with a Sephora purchase, I fell in love. I spotted a 50ml bottle of J'adore Eau de Parfum at a fragrance discount shop only to realize later the mistake I had made. Nonetheless, I have had both in my collection which has allowed me to compare the OG to its flanker.

Since this perfume is made without any alcohol, there’s no sharp sting when sprayed. The perfume in liquid form is a creamy white, almost like a milk lotion as it settles on your skin and leaves behind a beautiful scent. It's elegant, subtle and refined: florals are masterfully well-blended. I smell the jasmine: soft, slightly indolic with a delicate fruity facet. There’s the chinese magnolia and neroli who add creaminess and floral depth to the scent. It's absolutely stunning and feels so sophisticated, like a well put-together woman who knows who she is and what she wants in life. The white flowers and magnolia never veer off into the powdery territory nor too indolic on my skin. The scent is divinely balanced: the flowers all share the spotlight as equals!

Since I've had the occasion of testing out the OG and the flanker, I can say this one is a bit lighter. I think it has been created specifically for the younger crowd (25-30 years old). Due to its creamy aspect, it can also be pulled off during colder months, but is a great choice for warm weather. A nice flanker that manages to keep the original DNA while also innovating and branching off!
