Death of a masterpiece

The actual death of this masterpiece occured in 2024 when DIOR presented the new Homme parfum 2025. We are talking about Dior Homme Parfum (2014)

Not many of you knew this wonderful extrait de parfum since you could never find it in shops and department stores to try it. I guess because of the expensive essential oils it contained DIOR had this creation in smaller batches and in order to have a hold on a bottle you ordered through the site of DIOR strictly.

Francois Demachy had created this beautiful parfum. Opening with iris root butter and Italian orange. In the middle notes it featured rose with suede leather and it had a base of cedar, oud,ambrette (musk mallow) and sandalwood.

The parfum disappeared at the end of 2024 from the site of the brand. Now Francis Kurkdjian who is in charge for the DIOR perfumes along with the artistic director of the brand are launching a new 2025 Homme Parfum. A fragrance rather common and cheap in producrion but with the same price. It is a ghost of this line and of the previous parfum .And what can one say....It just hit me hard and I will remind you a verse from a very famous Neil Young song: "out of the blue and into the black/ you pay for this and they give you that/and when you are gone you can't get back/ out of the blue and into the black.
