I expected to be challenged and instead received one of the most lovely scents I've tried in a while. It smells like a bag of soil one has recently just opened that for some reason has been loaded with dried fruits of all kinds. It doesn't make any sense to me why an earthy gourmand like this works but it absolutely does. I won't go as far as to say it's a wearable fragrance, because I'm pretty sure I'd get fired from work if I came in wearing it, but it is a very easy wear for at the home or similar vibes. Some have mentioned strong anamalics to this but I somehow don't get much of anything, though I do recognize a slightly musky and simultaneously cedar-y note that seems very similar to that of Snowy Owl . Either way olympic orchids has quickly become one of my favored houses for the unique scents it has.

The vision is definitely here: the woody notes with the maple syrup and flowers bring to mind some kind of romanticized version of a beaver dam in the forest that I'm all here for. But there's something about the combination of notes that's just not working for me as well as it should be. Maybe it's the airy note, which permeates most of the scent. Unlike the older Beaver (2016) the airy and animalic notes don't add to the scene or give naturalistic contrast, they seem to take away in my opinion. The result is something that is neither entirely satisfying as an animalic or a straight gourmand scent. Still, it's a decent frag, just not one I ended up loving like I thought I would

If one has smelt the original Hazy Blue Eau de Parfum, I would say the main difference one will notice here aside from a bit more sillage is the heightened sea salt note. Where the original smells strongly ozonic and reminds me almost of the smell one has when getting out of an artificial, chlorinated pool of water, this one smells more like the scent one would experience while just smelling the breeze near an oceanside dock. The original gives me a more clean feeling, while the extrait gives me something more naturalistic perhaps.

Neither fragrance really shows it's floral or citrus notes too strongly to my nose, they are both predominantly mineralic and ozonic scents. You really can't go wrong -they're both lovely, calming, and unique aquatics in a genre that is mostly full of sunscreeny or freshie kind of fragrances.

Upon spraying this on paper I didn't get any scent at all, so I decided to opt for skin next. The scent does end up coming up much more on skin, and it is not pleasant to my nose. It is supposed to capture the experience of a certain Thai street food, but all I get here is a mildly off-putting, almost aldehydic note in the opening and dry down with a vague bitterness to it. The sugar and jasmine never came for me. Perhaps if one has a scent memory associated with the food then this would gel much better with them, but for me it's a miss. Thankfully the rest of this perfume line by Siam is much much better.

A truly divine scent. The jasmine and light wine notes just work so well in this. I don't get a lot of the "rain accord" in it, but perhaps that's also contributing to the overall lightness I feel when I wear it. All of HoB's stuff carries a similar DNA I feel of what I can only describe as extremely clean laundry or otherwise flowery clean vibes, but I think it's maybe at its best here. Great sillage and longevity as well.
