The Wet Air of Nature
So this scent kinda has an insane note breakdown. The aquatic, breezy forest seemed like my dream frag. And it was for a while. I couldn’t stop wearing this when I first got it and loved every part of it. The fresh, damp smell that reminds me of a white t-shirt that has just been washed. The ever so slight vanilla and amber in the back and the absolute overdose of musk. However lately I’ve not been enjoying this as much as I used to. Mainly because I got some other, more natural frags.
But today I returned to this and it’s exactly how I remember it. The way in which the slightly stinky animalics blend with the green and airy notes is just so nice. To some, this might be boring or not their taste, but any nature lover should check this out.

Sadly this fragrance his been discontinued and replaced by Beaver Maple edition, which is less animalic and more woody. Quite unfortunate because I feel like it wasn’t deserved but whatever. Also, the juice on this is crazy. Like maybe the best ever. Insane copper color.

After wearing this again I can say this is still a good frag. You could argue this isn’t special, or too musky, and I might agree with you. But I still like it and think this is a great fragrance by Zoologist

Underrated
I think Beaver slid under the radar because of huge, bombastic scents like Civet and the new T-Rex that get so much attention. Beaver is a tenderly sweet, springy green, delicate floral fragrance with a slightly animalic undertone that makes it feel really realistic. Gives it that musky quality that feels like a second skin. Smells like you took a shower with some high quality soap that is still clinging to your skin, then you leave your little cottage to go and dip your toes in a chilly brook in the English countryside. Darling fragrance, but it's complex too. Highly underrated.

Lovely outdoor fragrance
Beaver intrigued me from the first time I smelt it and I keep going back to it. There are some animalic notes in the opening, very quickly accompanied by some very fresh, clean aquatic and light woody notes - which provides an interesting balance. I find it very outdoorsy and it covers a complete scenery with lush greens, fresh air, blooming linden, a cool brook, dry wood shavings and a perfect musk: right between dirty and clean. I find Beaver furry and friendly, just calmly doing it's own thing. For me it's got something to offer in every season.

Underrated Perfectly Mixed Beauty
I didn't think I would care for this scent, but it's a refreshing beauty. The first notes are a blast of ocean, wood and greenery. If you sniff a bit deeper, you may pick up on the musky castoreum note, though it doesn't last long.

After an hour, it morphed into a watery woodsy mix with a hint of leather and sweetness. There was one odd note which I can only describe as Band-Aid. It may be from the leather mixing with the other notes which creates this, but it's a bit distinct.

As with the other Zoologist scents I've tried, Beaver only lasted 4-5 hours before becoming a skin scent. It does last longer on clothing, but for me, the notes are different when on my skin. Also, the sillage is on the lighter side. This isn't a beast mode scent and would be pretty unassuming making it great for all occasions.

Fresh wet wood
I was not expecting this to be so scenic in its opening—like a crisp spring morning on a river bank. I get cool rushing water with surrounding floral vegetation, balanced by wet green wood and smoky leather. It reminds me of something like Dior Fahrenheit in its juxtaposition of pretty and rugged notes—ultimately a clever and supremely wearable composition.

Soapy, lightly powdery, white muskiness and white florals with green twigs. Feminine leaning, doesn't really inspire any thought.

Unique for sure. Soapy beyond belief. The freshness and dirtiness do not mix well in my eyes. The green, ozonic opening does not last long.

Airy, aquatic, and green. Like a wet beaver. Musk is the real player here, but in the background vanilla is also hiding. 9/10

A fresh and clean green-aquatic Spring fragrance, supported by a barely noticable animalic-woody base. 100% unisex. Very soft, yet unique!

This smells like the novel "Hatchet" (so Canadian)

Extremely soapy, oily/waxy, turpentine woodiness with faint floral overtones. Almost citrussy-fresh opening. Weird but very sexy. Not strong

Significantly tamer than the 2014 version. More waxy, with noticeable aquatic notes. As a fragrance, it's much more wearable.

Beaver smells like the Stachys sylvatica flower to me.

White flowers and ozonic notes, feminine scent. Absolutely no castoreum. Huge disappointment... Btw no sillage. Was it the same before refo?
