The most beautiful, comforting clove I've ever encountered
I really really wish this one came in a EDP or at least a longer lasting EDT! The scent was perfection; the strong clove note was incredibly photorealistic and paired well with the light touch of cardamom and the prominent cedarwood. The bottle is also a CdG classic; not sure how you'd get it to stand up to store it, but it's beautiful to look at and instantly recognizable. The scent stayed fairly linear throughout its lifespan, gaining a bit of sweetness as it aged. Overall, a lovely scent, and my only wish is that it lasted a little longer on skin.
Activia Peach Yogurt
is exactly what this fragrance smells like, and it's STRONG in the opening. The tartness and creaminess comes together to create a comforting yogurt scent that's more realistic than I ever thought possible. However, if, like me, you don't find the thought of smelling like a dairy product appealing, this scent isn't for you. The longevity was quite average on me, with the scent drying down to a more generic sweetness within a couple of hours. The musk note also began to dominate in this phase.
A classic rose!
This scent opens strong with the rose note, which remains fairly linear as the fragrance dries down. The projection is quite impressive at the beginning of its evolution. I proceeded to sleep in this fragrance, and by the time I woke up from my nap, it had mostly faded away. While the longevity is quite average, the juiciness of the opening, and the slight tartness that comes from the pomelo and blackcurrant notes, makes this a fun fragrance for me! The rose, while less photorealistic than some other rose fragrances, is recognizable and pleasant without being obviously artificial.
GREEN
This is a classic chypre scent that's heavy on the green element; it's like a face full of tuberose with the stems left on. The bergamot in the opening provides a lovely tartness that balances out the sweetness of the tuberose. The scent then gives way to the middle and base notes, which are heavily floral with a hint of powderiness. The earthiness of the chypre is heavily expressed here, lending the fragrance a mature quality. The sandalwood in the base finishes off the scent. Classically feminine!
Quite artificial?
The orange blossom starts off strong in this one, but it's quite an artificial sort of orange blossom. There is a definite "perfumey" quality to the florals in this fragrance which makes the opening slightly headache-inducing; however, if you tend to enjoy strong florals, this might work for you. The drydown was much more creamy and comforting. However, the sillage was nonexistent on me and the fragrance was nearly gone from my wrist within three hours, although I could smell it on clothes for a few more hours than that. Not sure if this is worthy of a house as esteemed as MFK, but not horrible.
