The most beautiful, comforting clove I've ever encountered
I really really wish this one came in a EDP or at least a longer lasting EDT! The scent was perfection; the strong clove note was incredibly photorealistic and paired well with the light touch of cardamom and the prominent cedarwood. The bottle is also a CdG classic; not sure how you'd get it to stand up to store it, but it's beautiful to look at and instantly recognizable. The scent stayed fairly linear throughout its lifespan, gaining a bit of sweetness as it aged. Overall, a lovely scent, and my only wish is that it lasted a little longer on skin.

Spicy White
When a fragrance is assigned the color white, I always expect a fresh, light, and herb-floral scent. But here, I underestimated the label Comme des Garçons.

I should have realized that I wouldn’t be presented with a cliché in the form of a fragrance, but I didn’t expect such a beautiful olfactory experience.

I couldn’t imagine that a spicy scent could be so bright, almost clear.

Despite the abundant spices in the opening of White, the fragrance has a pleasantly light and dry quality and does not drift into the oriental corner.

To this spicy accord, a bright floral note gradually joins in with fruity nuances and a subtle sweetness, which does not become stronger even in the base.

Aside from a hint of sandalwood, which adds to the wonderful heart accord in the base, I don’t perceive any other notes.

The longevity of White is exceptionally good, and the fragrance develops a pleasant sillage.

Whether White can also be worn at higher temperatures, I still need to test, but on a balmy summer evening, it will surely come into play for me.

A big white question mark
I have recently discovered White. Something happened to me with it that actually means something big. I accidentally smelled it a few months ago, didn’t pay much attention. And as it often is when you’ve tested various fragrances, you eventually forget what the scent on your right wrist is called when you’re already on your way home.
Thank God that didn’t happen with White.
I would have missed out on something great. This scent truly haunted me for months; it was so incredibly beautiful, clinging to my jacket, which then remained in the closet to preserve the fragrance.

First of all, the name. White. Why? I usually don’t like it when a fragrance name includes a color. I find it difficult; what does white smell like? What does Noir, black, smell like?
Someone from marketing needs to explain that to me.
Well, back to the scent.

What do we smell? Right after spraying, we first smell like an alcoholic. Gin. Pure, cool gin. Freshly poured, possibly decorated with a mint leaf.
This scent doesn’t last long. Over time, however, after a maximum of 15 minutes, the alcoholic note fades. What comes next is strange. I have a completely different perception than my husband, to whom I naturally hold the fragrance under his nose quite often. My husband finds it festive. Clove, tons of clove even, cardamom, a bit of cinnamon, and a certain woodiness. Basically the perfect Christmas scent!
No. I don’t think so. To me, White smells cold. I can’t help it; it smells absolutely cold. A slightly aloof coolness that makes it hard to get close to the fragrance. Of course, I also smell clove and the other spice herb. Still, I definitely don’t find it festive. Rather, I detect a hint of rose and marigold. I love the smell of marigold. Most people find it totally repulsive; I like this little plant.
Can perceptions be so (!) different? That two people perceive a fragrance completely differently?
I find it very surprising.

Nevertheless, despite "my" coldness and "his" festiveness, I have absolutely fallen in love with this scent.
I thought for a long time that I had seen it all; most fragrances no longer amaze me, they bore me.
How glad I am that it turned out differently.
A big show, folks!

White Paper
For me, White Paper by Element Of Crime is one of the most beautiful German songs about saying goodbye to a great love, the pain, and the sadness. The realization that you carry the past with you, no matter how much you wish for a fresh start, still touches me after twenty years because it is true and conveyed in such simple, clear words.

White is a classic autumn/winter fragrance.
It contains wonderfully warm, gentle spice notes, a bit of bitterness from marigold, a hint of acidity from pomegranate, and a little green coriander.
Above all, though, the clove shines, initially very pronounced, spicy, warming, until it finely blends with the other notes, inviting them all to merge together.
A very fine, noble shaving soap note emerges over time, fitting in well here and adding masculine accents.
Floral notes only reveal themselves to me very late, and then only very close to the skin.

With White, I feel enveloped and comforted. It is a scent that is just for me, present and supportive when life once again takes a new turn, and I realize, "I will never be as pure and as foolish as white paper."

Dried Clove Mouthwash
how excited I was about "White" and how pleased I was when I found a bit of the scent while browsing through my samples. But somehow it smells to me like a mouthwash that has dried on paper. Above all, I notice clove. This note is almost monotonously present in the opening, and although I like this note, it becomes too much for me here. At some point, floral and slightly green notes come in, along with a diffuse sweetness and powderiness. This doesn't remind me of sweets, but also not of white or anything I could associate with white. More like a medication with a strong clove aroma or indeed a mouthwash with that, which has dried out and is no longer liquid. For me, this is not pleasant and also not bearable without becoming annoying.

An airy, balmy version of the EDP that plays into romance, into soft kisses on skin, breath mentholated and hot with desire. Beautiful.

Indeed quite similar to the EdP
Although the EdP is much more exciting.
I really like the clove note here.

Similar to the first EdP from CdG, just without the liqueur and with a richer rose. Here, clove, pepper, cinnamon, and cedar take center stage.

Powdery, dusty, woody, spicy: nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, but always moderate in tone. This is typical Buxton artistry, and the color white fits perfectly.

Egoists are always so alone, which is why CdG decided to keep Chanel company. And they succeeded quite well.

Clove on cedar and a spicy rose at the heart. Smoky, dark fruity, almost plum-like. An unwhite, sentimental CdG-Pebbles highlight.

Now I sit here in front of a white wall
with only white noise in my head
of clove pepper, coriander, and nutmeg
as empty as the paper in front of me

Warm, Christmas spices in the wooden drawer. Clove overload. Plus a synthetic coolness from bright + light flowers. White-brown striped.

A bright - yes, white(!) - carnation scent, almost powdery.
Thanks to cinnamon, it brings occasional Big Red gum memories.
Friendly & pleasant.
