Montale

If you were going to get a Montale oud fragrance, which one would it be?  Or would you go with a different house altogether.

Montale has the reputation to use synthetic oud. And honestly, they gain their reputation only with influencers (I had 2 or 3 French influencers in my mind, and they are clowns). Also their shop in Paris is a total joke. Too many red flags for me.

One of the most beautiful oud I have ever smelt is Ruade , but it's an expensive one.

I don't own any Montales yet. They do have a reputation of producing screechy, synthetic smelling perfumes. On the other hand. many of their creations are rated as having superior performance. In the end, it's always important to sample, of course, instead of blind buying.

I'll eventually sample the following three. But note, I'm a man who likes strong, animalic perfumes and these might fit. I don't know where your tastes lie.

Honey Aoud or Red Aoud

For a wearable oud I would go for one of the Xerjoff Oud Stars... Such as "Luxor | XerJoff" or "Al-Khatt | XerJoff"...

or Oud Maracujá

Oud Dream is one of my favorites of that house but Colonia Oud Eau de Cologne Concentrée is of the best interpretation of “oudh” to me, kind like a western interpretation of oud.

I've had my eye on these: Day Dreams, Mukhallat, Wild Pears, Aoud Lagoon, to name a few.
