What does he want to be?
About a year ago I visited the Floris perfumery shop in London and discovered their Honey Oud fragrance. "A little dream," I thought to myself, but unfortunately not in my budget. So I hoped to find a possible alternative and then found Montales Aoud Honey in the hope that they would resemble each other. Fortunately, I also found a perfumery with a large Montale assortment, including Aoud Honey. I was almost inclined to buy him blind.

Tested on the skin I realized within seconds that Montale Aoud Honey and Floris Honey Oud go completely different directions: While Floris comes across as delicately sweet and soft, Montale Aoud Honey initially develops into a smoke bomb with a sweetness background. Scratchy, spicy, woody, oriental and masculine in my opinion. The honey character even disappears relatively quickly. But what remains is a bomb sillage. The previous speaker described a medicinal smell similar to eucalyptus and rightly so! After a good 15 minutes, I notice this note also for a short time. After about 30 minutes even the sweetness is gone at first and it remains dry-woody and slightly smoky for the next couple of hours. Strangely enough, the sweetness came back after a long time, although it resembles vanilla in my nose. Finally, there is not much left of honey in the Aoud Honey. What remains, however, is a bomb sillage!

During the course of the fragrance I just couldn't decide whether I liked Aoud Honey or not. The opening definitely, the next 2-3 hours not at all and later, when the sweetness returns, I really like him. All in all I could well imagine buying it. Definitely a winter scent. I can only recommend everyone to test Aoud Honey at least once before on the skin and advise against a blind purchase.

One of the best Montale fragrances!
Have purchased this fragrance on the occasion of the coming cold days in Hamburg, after I have tested some fragrances of Montale. I liked him when I smelled him the first time, not even so like, or was not convinced. When I was then the next day again in the perfumery and tested him another time, he liked me but very much!
He starts with a great light, spicy honey note, which is clearly cinnamon and warm-woody in the DD, due to the amber and oud chords. The vanilla is noticeable throughout and gives this fragrance a continuous, almost delicious, but not too intrusive sweetness. I personally find this course very pleasant.
Durability and sillage are super. Holds on my skin easy well over 10 hours and projects strongly. Since the first application, there were compliments from people around me throughout.
In summary, I can only recommend this fragrance and also do not really understand why this fragrance is not much better known than others of this house.

Dominant honey fragrance
You feel like Winnie the Pooh, you can't get enough of the honey... at first, when I applied the Honey Aoud, you notice the woody oud relatively strongly and dominantly, until over time the sweetness of the honey ignites and you then notice the oud relatively little, but the honey comes more and more to the fore.

The longevity of this fragrance is bombastically good, even the next day you can smell the scent on your clothes without having to smell the place where you sprayed it, that's really outstanding!
The sillage is similar to the durability, everyone notices the fragrance and although the fragrance is so strong, you only get compliments and no negative comments, as with some other fragrances that are similarly dominant.

The bottle looks, as always, typically Montale-like and the color of the bottle reflects the honey.

A very beautiful, dominant and sweet honey fragrance that is perfect for the fall/winter season. In fact, I find that you can also wear the fragrance in the other seasons, so it is up to the wearer to decide which season he/she wants to wear this fragrance. A masterpiece from Montale and the price/performance ratio is very good.

1A for the cold days
In my opinion, a great fragrance for the winter It has a great balance between honey, oud and a soft vanilla.
For me, it is one of the best Montale fragrances on the market, as it is not as overloaded and intrusive as many other Montale fragrances.

So it's for anyone who is looking for an inexpensive winter fragrance and doesn't want the usual designers like stronger... spicebomb... would be perfect.

Chimney cake
Smelling this perfume closely on skin reminds me of Mancera Red Tobacco. At first I was very disappointed since I already own Red Tobacco. But when I smelled it in air everything changed. For all the Hungarians out there this smells like a cinnamon chimney cake(fahéjas kürtöskalács). It is sweet fromt he honey, spicy from the cinnamon, almost gourmand territory. I would definitely recommend giving this a try especially around december, close to the holidays. It definitely has Christmas vibes.

Cinnamon and honey give a spicy and sweetly amber boost to the woody, resinous and warm note of the oud. A warm and comfortable oriental.
