Unbrewed Tea Leaves

Unbrewed Tea Leaves 0

Hi, so I know there's a lot of tea-related topics, but I have read through them and I hope this will not be too repetitive.

Tea is my favourite drink, but I seem to get along quite badly with the note, as it's usually fresher (trying to emulate the brewed beverage, I assume) and goes soapy on my skin.

I'm going to keep testing but I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for perfumes that emulate the smell of unbrewed tea leaves specifically (so more earthy and herbal rather than fresh)? I'd be happy with some spice, smoke or dust in there as well. For context I mostly drink oolong or assam teas, as well as infusions.

Thank you in advance (:

Also as it might be helpful, some teas that have worked for me are:

1. Qi Intensivo, Eau de Parfum № 12, Tea & Rock'n Roll, Oolong Tea

And (some of) the ones that were soapy:

Jasmin Perle de Thé Parfum, Armani Privé - Thé Yulong, White Tea Eau de Toilette, Thé Matcha 26

quite interesting topic; i've tried many, maybe you should go on particular note of tea or mate. i agree with you, the last ones are a little soapy.

Fleur de Maté

Aged Tea

Wūlóng Chá Extrait de Parfum don't remember it very well but it could work, not the 'X' one

Tea Service was suggested to me, never tried

I-III Russian Tea

Culot Thé funny one, cheap and roll on

"Torino22 | XerJoff" on me the mate note is very strong

Roasted Green Tea Eau de Parfum

@Silverrr Thank you very much for the thoughtful reply. I've never had mate so I'm not entirely sure what it smells like. But it is present in a lot of the perfumes I've liked and might be worth exploring it more seriously.

Fleur de Maté and "Torino22 | XerJoff" weren't on my radar at all, I'll try to find somewhere to test them.

I've tested Tea Service and it was nice, more fruity-floral than any tea though, similar to Summer Peaches by the Tea Room (just in case you were curious about it).

I-III Russian Tea will give you a black tea scent. You will get some smokiness in there. There's birch in the fragrance that I love. I get nothing soapy from it.

@JSO60, @StarMajesty Thank you both, going to put these higher up on my list.

I haven't seen Tea for Two mentioned, but i assume you've tried it? I don't have any suggestions, but I'll be reading along with interest as I have the same exact problem.

I do own Eau Parfumée au Thé Rouge and it does smell vaguely rooibos-y. Not quite herbal enough but good effort

To me Thé Vert smells exactly like opening a bag of loose tea leaves.

@MorganleFay Thank you! I actually just got a little decant of Tea for Two, very excited to test (but not so excited to hunt it down if I like it). I have a mini of Thé Rouge and it's very pretty, but I agree that it is quite light.

@Lempi That's perfect, I think I have one of their stores nearby. Will hopefully test it soon.

I loveJasmin Perle de Thé Parfum. If you didn't like that, I'd stay away from Imperial Tea. Use enough sprays of JPdT and it's the same thing.

Tea Tonique struck me as very earthy and heavily spiced. But my jam is fresh-florals, so a little spice hits me harder than most. In fact, everything I tried in the Miller Harris discovery set was too earthy/woody/herbal for me! Lol

Tchai is amazing sophisticated choice, very unisex and feels natural. I get straight to cozy autumn day in the cabin in the forest. And yes - it has darjeeling, mate and black tea!

And two more with very unique twist to tea:

XIII: La Treizième Heure is light woody (birch), vanilla and leather combo with mate & holly (another herabl tea note). Really well blended, great quality. But rather expensive Wink

Ganja is another unique mate with strong cannabis and spices/cumin. It´s delicious, youthful. My fave for layering. Very affordable Smile

@StarMajesty I'll temper my expectations for Imperial Tea, thank you. And I'm definitely putting Tea Tonique as a high priority now. Sorry to hear Miller Harris didn't work for you, but those profiles do sound up my alley.

@Tanelv Thank you, those all sound great (and quite unique). I somehow hadn't come across Tchai in my search, and it does sound perfect.

Wonderful, I wish you will enjoy it! IMO Adopt is an awesome brand when speaking of how amazing quality you can get for the price 👍👍

@SilverLily Any luck with the suggestions?

@StarMajesty They're bumped up higher on my priority list, but I don't have anywhere to test most of them nearby, so I'm waiting until I next order samples. Will report back once I've been able to test at least a few.
