Atomizers...??

I have a question about atomizers: If I use a certain amount of sprays from my 100 ml bottle of Givenchy III (2007) the bottle gets empty a lot sooner than when I use the same amount of sprays from my 100 ml bottle of Infusion d'Iris (2015) Eau de Parfum.

So my question is: does anyone have the same experience with different bottles and atomizers and do atomizers matter?

It all comes down to the atomizer. Some atomizers spray off more fragrance per spray, while others spray less. It's that simple. 

And I'd say that atomizes do matter, but they should never be a deal-breaker. Preferably, you'll always want a pressurized atomizer that outputs a solid amount of fragrance per spray. But not all/that many fragrances get this treatment

Best atomizers I've ever used are from Masque Milano. The worst I've experienced are from Cloon Keen Atelier. It broke off less than a year and there was no way of opening the bottle without breaking it. Finished a bottle from Masque and cleaned it really well, put some alcohol in it for a week and sprayed every day to clean the atomizer, then transferred my Bel Étage into it.

Are they the ones that do what seems like a "stream" instead of a spray? lol

I hate the "stream" atomizers. Yeah, that's what I wanted, to have my wrist gently peed upon, brilliant design. But sometimes being a bit more forceful with the spray can help it come out right. 

Some atomizers are definitely more generous than others. The ones in little sample bottles are notoriously stingy, which I suppose is just a natural trade-off from the size of them, but does get annoying when you're spraying six times to get the equivalent of one spray from a larger bottle. 

Weirdly enough, Lattafa has great atomizers, so I'm always a bit cynical when a much more expensive brand has a shitty one. 

Ha. That must be hit and miss because my bottle of "Ma'ani | Lattafa / لطافة" from Lattafa has the "golden showers" atomizer you mentioned, the top of which also broke off after 2 uses.

Yes there are definitely significant differences in atomizers. I absolutely hate those ones that spray a ton on you and makes the juice level go down faster. Maybe it's a marketing strategy to be able to sell more bottles faster 😂 I just hate repurchasing, and also I wouldn't like to smell strongly of fragrance because I don't care if other people smell it but I will just go nose blind myself so it's super annoying to get a huge amount of fragrance on you when spraying just once.

But appearantly the atomizer of my Givenchy III sprays more at once. Fortunately it is not a very strong scent so it doesn't matter that much  because I agree @Lempi , you don't want to get noseblind to a scent  Just have to repurchase sooner maybe. (I don't mind repurchasing the scents I love as long as it isn't too soon).

Yes, different pumps have different mcl (microliters) outputs.  I'm not sure what the most common is, but I've seen 60, 80, 90, 120, 140, 180.  So, it all depends on what pump is used by the manufacturer.  60 mcl, for example, means that for every spray you will receive an output of 60 microliters (or .06 ml).
