rice pudding :33

rice pudding :33 0

hii, so when i was on a summer vacation i've tried diptyque's l'eau papier in a niche perfume shop and i've fallen in love with it instantly

but, the case is- i am still a highschool student with a tight budget so it just costs an arm and a leg for me, especially since it's quite a soft fragrance

i've seen people recommending book loft by bbw but i need to hear your opinion on several aspects of this scent:

-is the rice accord prominent? this is what i like abt l'eau papier the most, bc to me it's such a photorealistic cozy rice fragrance

-how much can you detect the neroli and bergamot? i'm just not a fan of citrusy notes tbh...

or maybe can you recommend me some nice, quite inexpensive rice frags? preferably sweet and not spicy, a lactonic accord within them would be a lovely addition :33

tyia!!

Hello and welcome to Parfumo! 🙋 I love lactonic notes too. Unfortunately I'm not yet familiar with the fragrance you mentioned. However these are sweet rice fragrances that I really enjoy: Loverdose Tattoo, Signorina Eau de Toilette, Black Opium Nuit Blanche and Soft Cuddle. All of these used to be very affordable back the days I bought them but I guess some of them might be discontinued and thus more expensive if buying secondhand, though I'm not sure about that or the availablility in your country. Also I don't know how rice pudding is served in your country but in Finland we eat it with sugar and cinnamon so a sweet fragrance that reminds me of rice pudding with cinnamon and sugar is Myrrhe & Encens Mystérieux. ☺️

You're welcome darling, that's wonderful if you have Soft Cuddle there easily available! 🥰👍 I think Miss Kay fragrances are underrated because they are good quality for the price, I really enjoy many of their perfumes and they also have such a broad selection something for everyone. Hopefully you will like Soft Cuddle! It's cosy milky creamy powdery sweet perfume and quite unique IMO.

Hi there! 🌟The other day, I actually used a website called Makeup.pl to buy some perfume.
To be honest, I’m not an expert on rice accords at all, and unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to try BBW’s Book Loft yet (BBW products aren't even available in my country).

So, here’s a suggestion: why not try a small decant (sample) of Kenzo Amour ? I'm not sure if they are expensive over there, though. From what you described, it sounds like you’re looking for a sweet rice pudding vibe rather than just plain rice, right?🍚

In my country, Kenzo Amour is basically deadstock and impossible to find, but I saw that it's still being sold on Makeup.pl. It might be more than twice the price of BBW for a smaller amount, but you can probably find a decant of it in Poland.

It might be worth considering! If you do end up trying it, I’d love to hear what you think, as I’m quite curious about it too. We don't have decants or testers for it here. (Only if you’re interested, of course!)

Soft is beautiful and super affordable. They have oils and sprays. It's a true steamed rice scent.

Nearly Noon is $100. It's sweet/lactonic. Can be found on the secondary market (Mercari, eBay) for $70-$80

adding to this, there are three rice perfumes i can think of off the top of my head. D.Grayi has  Jasmine Rice and Red Jasmine Rice. D.Grayi is great because they're relatively affordable. per oz it's pricey but they have miniature 15 ml bottles on their website for $45, which you can sometimes find secondhand on mercari for much less. i sampled jasmine rice, and although it has some other notes besides rice, it's pretty ricey. there's also White Rice by d'Annam, which I have yet to sample, but i have heard good things
