What’s your favorite vanilla fragrance and why?

I'm not that big on vanilla as it tends to come off sweet to my nose. I really like This Is Him! though, it comes off really "dry" and not sweet at all, coupled with the incense its a really addictive. My girlfriend at the time bought it for me and she's probably worn it as much as I have if not more. Despite being marketed as a "male" fragrance it really did suit her goth aesthetic more than me.

This one is indeed gorgeous! 🖤 And absolutely suitable for all genders. Very beautiful smoky vanilla for sure.

Vanilla heavy fragrances are usually too sweet for me. I did test one recently though that I really liked: Vanilla Oud.

surprised they haven’t come up yet, but celine’s vanillas are pretty nice, mostly because of how they tend to handle them.

of course, answering the question, my favourite is Un Été Français. i love its much greener tone and the other notes that surround it make it an even creamier experience.

for a more traditional vanilla, i suppose, i’ll go with Dans Paris. circling back to the first paragraph, celine likes to handle gourmand notes in a way that makes them airy instead of dense and in your face. dans paris is a good example of that, along with a hint powdery spiciness to aid in the airiness and the complexity.

I know it is not the conventional vanila but for me Silky Woods is incredible.

One of my favorites is Vanilla Woods by The 7 Virtues. The vanilla smells natural instead of overly sugary, and it's perfect for cooler days or evening wear.

I love Eau Duelle EDP by Diptyque. Vanilla as aromatic spice in its own right.

I also love L'Ivree Blue by Ormaie. The vanilla feels very different here. Dark, boozy, balsamic. 

The Arabique by Frau Tonis is another favorite. Tea, fruit, whisky structure. The vanilla softens and rounds it.

Lord of Misrule Perfume The vanilla isn’t overly sweet. It’s more like vanilla extract. That with pepper over a super earthy patchouli is just so good. Very dark and witchy. It’s one of my favorite fragrances to wear in the fall.

This is my favourite as well, alongside Vanille Patchouli Eau de Parfum when I’m in the mood for something more subtle.

The humble Vanilla Musk Perfume Oil .

Because it's literally the perfect, clean, clear vanilla to my nose. When I smell it, there's nothing I want to tweak, fix, add, or subtract from it. It's complete.

I don't normally enjoy vanilla dominate scents because they're usually too sweet for me, some that I enjoy are.

Vanille Bourbon is the one that brought me into the gourmand world. Fruity, boozy opening with smooth vanilla as it develops. Criminally underrated.
