What Notes Are You Tired of Seeing in Perfumes?
by Ringtale | Perfumes & Brands
...Actually I don't like anything 'distinct', so no distinct rose (rose seems to be a hype lately?), patchouli, amber, vanilla and so on, for me. I love Mimosa, but not as 'distinct' as in Belle de GrasseBelle de Grasse, but I LOVED mimosa the way it was done in Summer by KenzoSummer by Kenzo though (oh, miss that one!). Don't like too gourmand either. And I don't like leather. And in the more citrussy perfumes for summer, I don't like citrus...I prefer lemon, orange, bergamot and so on over citrus to get the fresh, 'citrussy vibe'.

What are some of the best ways to make perfume last longer?
by Ringtale | Perfume Discussions
...KathrynA66RingtaleHello,About clothing: I noticed quite a difference with different materials: I may love a perfume on linen and/or cotton for instance, and like it far less on, say, acrylic. Does anyone recognize this? Definitely.  I like perfume on cotton,  linen, some synthetic fabrics, like microfiber, but I never put perfume on silk.Hi Kathryn, Oh I am glad you recognize this, thought it was just me... :-)

Motivation: Mood, Season, Weather or...?
by Ringtale | Perfume Discussions
...Though my collection is far less impressive than that of many people here, I'm affraid I own too many perfumes already....(and I keep buying, always affraid to miss out on 'the one that would please me all the way' and I hate myself for that - it seems so decadent, with all the misery going on in this world :-( ....But aside from that, I always find it very hard to choose what to wear. And the more perfumes I own, the harder it gets...I love many of my perfumes for so many different reasons!Except when it is really, really warm outside: Eau de Rochas (1970) (Eau de Toilette)Eau de Rochas (1970) Eau de Toilette is then my best choice without any doubt. I may even love that one more than I love my signature perfume, just wish it would be warm every day of the year :-) Sometimes cats are my reason, lol :-)! My boyfriend and I are 'living apart together' and he has two lovely cats. And when we go over to his place, I sometimes make sure I wear something with civet in it, I'm really under the impression, they like me better when I wear a perfume with civet in it :-)!

How did you hear about Parfumo?
by Ringtale | Parfumo Community
...I also left Fragantica because of their political views and obvious conspiracy theories. A bit scary actually. I asked them to remove my account....I like Parfumo as a more quiet and friendly space to read and talk about perfumes.

Is there a fragrance that helps you when you feel unwell?
by Ringtale | Perfume Discussions
...I still have to sample it myself but I can imagine Clean Reserve - Warm Cotton [Reserve Blend]Clean Reserve - Warm Cotton [Reserve Blend] to be helpful when feeling ill, I once smelled it on someone else: very fresh and somehow really soothing; He is a healthcare worker and told me most patients react positively on how he smells.

Am I the only weido or...
by Ringtale | Perfume Discussions
...I personally avoid celeb scents...I know I'm probably missing out on some lovely fragrances because of that, but I just don't want a personality to be connected to any scent I'm wearing.I also avoid scents that I know to be worn by people I don't like...Very childish, I know...I guess I'm over-sensitive to associations. And scents that have too many flankers, they confuse me....And I avoid limited editions: I am too scared that I will grow to love them and then have to see them disappear ( a sort of 'fear of commitment' :-) )

Warning Signs
by Ringtale | Off Topic
...Hi @KathrynA66,I'm sorry to hear about your heartattack and happy you are doing well now! It is true that signs differ between men and women. I also read that women can feel nauseous prior to an attack. Not to scare anyone ofcourse, but if you can't relate nausea to something else and are known to have heart related issues, it is good to keep that in mind as well. Thanks for sharing, and take good care, Kathryn!!

Ysatis in the current, new bottle, how does it smell?
by Ringtale | Perfume Discussions
...Hi @Tzapan, Oh too bad....I already feared that...They no longer mention aldehydes on their website like they were mentioned in the former formulation and I've noticed that can make quite a difference as it does in Estée from Esée Lauder were aldehydes also are no longer mentioned (still a very good fragrance, in which one would suspect aldehydes,  but I miss the 'fatty' feel of the aldehydes like when they were mentioned in the former formulation, I guess it's now just the LOTV in it that still give that slight 'aldehydic, soapy impression', but it's not the same thing). Thank you so much for saving me from a disappontment!!

Ysatis in the current, new bottle, how does it smell?
by Ringtale | Perfume Discussions
...@Tzapan, thank you so much for your reply! I always had the purple boxes (similar to the black one, but purple) with the skyscraper bottle with plastic cap. And that one is fine with me (I'm sure the one you mention is even better, but I'm not so much into hunting down vintages) But I am so curious how the current one smells... Ysatis (Eau de Toilette)Ysatis Eau de Toilette I still have some left in my skyscraper bottle, but just wanted to know if it is worth buying the current version (I don't like that new bottle by the way, but if the scent is like the one I have, I'd be fine with that.... :-) )Thanks again!

Ysatis in the current, new bottle, how does it smell?
by Ringtale | Perfume Discussions
...Hello everyone, Does anyone own or has owned Ysatis in both the skyscraper bottle as well as in the current, latest (more plain) bottle? And - in that case - could you tell me if  there is a difference in the scent between the two and, if so, in what way? I love Ysatis in the skyscraper bottle (plastic cap, 1984) but am reluctant to buy the version in the newest, plain bottle they are selling now....Thanks in advance!

Best Fragrances but Cheap for Gift??
by Ringtale | Perfume Discussions
...Eau de Lancaster is very affordable, though marketed towards women, I find this more unisex, if not masculine. Not necessarily aquatic, but certainly fresh.

EXILED! The stories from Defected Fragrantican Members
by Ringtale | Parfumo Community
...Hi everybodySame here: I decided to leave Fragantica as well because of their political 'agenda' hidden in their articles. I had to ask them to remove my account because you can't remove it yourself on Fragantica, which I also find a bit strange. I also find the reviews here more kind and objective. I'm glad I found Perfumo!! Such a relief! Have a nice day everybody!!

What's a universally hated fragrance you'd wear?

...I personally think overspraying would do the trick, no matter the fragrance 😀.
