"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"
So, I've bought 4 fragrances (Mulberry Fig, Dia Man, Vétiver Bourbon, Fougère Emeraude) within the last for 4 days. It may have been 5 (Montabaco Rio) if a certain place was not closed over the weekend. Or I may have stopped at 2 given that one's price. Who knows.

Oh, and stay tuned to my impression on those if you're curious.

Anyhow, this one here... Man. This one here.. BIG win.

I've been wanting this fragrance ever since it launched but at first couldn't find it in the US and then, when it was available, I (justly) convinced myself that I did not need it and that I had what I wanted in Wūlóng Chá. However, calculate boredom with obsession and a person can convince themselves to do all type of nonsense. But I digress...

What I get from this is Fico di Amalfi + Fleur de Peau + Amyris Homme, with sandalwood, vetiver, coconut and a very powdery dry amber especially pronounced on the dry down. This is simultaneously one of the best fig, sandalwood, iris, coconut, vetiver and amber scents I've smelled. That alone makes this full bottle worthy (if those notes are your thing).

As trite as saying this is, it's truly "Spring time in a bottle".

My references could be wrong as to the 3 fragrances I mentioned above; I haven't smelled them in quite some time. Those are just what came to mind when I sat smelling this fragrance throughout the day. Today's my first day of actually wearing it out and about and, so far, I stick by my first impression.

This fragrance is very expensive, which I think is the culprit holding it back from being embraced by the community at large. But, man, this is GOOD. Even though they say this fragrance is limited addition, I think they made more because people really love it. However, they may make good on that quote if they decide it's not being embraced enough. In any event, I got mine.

Get it while it's hot, folks!

• Unisex/masculine
• Great longevity
• Spring, maybe all Summer
• 10/10 (I can't see myself getting away from this)

Between fig, mulberry and the past
For me, this scent is a memory of my childhood, climbing over the roof of the garage onto the mulberry tree and picking ripe berries directly from the branches.

All the scents come together to form a single image - mulberries, summer, a sunny day, cool shade under the tree, carefreeness and the lightness of those days. I love fig in all its variations - whether ripe and juicy or green - but here it takes a back seat to this vibrant, glowing memory.

This fragrance is like a time capsule of summer, shade, carefreeness and that very lightness that only youth can give.

Iris reads the newspaper under the fig tree
The fragrance Mulberry Fig opens with an extraordinary top note, which for me is beautiful and fascinating at the same time. It reminds me of the unmistakable smell of a freshly printed newspaper, tart and clear, mixed with a gently sweet, floral note. This contrast of cypress, fig and iris is really exciting for me. The fig gives the composition a juicy and green depth, while the cypress adds a cool elegance. The iris adds powderiness and contrasts with the juicy fig.

After the exciting top note, the fragrance becomes more subtle and floral. The transition is gentle. The amber already shimmers through here, adding a pleasant warmth and depth without pushing itself to the fore. This phase of the fragrance is restrained, graceful and luxurious, almost like a gentle afternoon breeze sweeping across a flowering meadow.

In the subtle finish, Mulberry Fig develops in a slightly woody and creamy direction. This base is subtle yet present. I particularly like the balance between the woodiness and the soft creaminess, which gives the perfume a calming character.

I have to mention, however, that the longevity / sillage diminishes somewhat in the last third. I still really like the fragrance.

The origin of the name "Mulberry Fig" seems to be a tribute to British elegance and nature. Not far from the family perfumery is St. James Park. The mulberry has historical significance in British culture. Not only was it a symbol of prosperity, it was also prized in gardens and parks. The fig brings Mediterranean warmth and an exotic component to the name and fragrance composition. The contrast of these two elements - the classic mulberry and the sensual fig - is also reflected in the fragrance: a combination of tradition and modernity, of cool British elegance and warm, inviting character.

I see the following image in my mind's eye:
Iris sitting under a fig tree in St. James Park, reading the Times.

I was introduced to Mulberry Fig by the lovely Andin. A 10ml travel bottle has already moved in with me.

Fig and iris are the main players here, with the iris even being a little more dominant now and then. Fortunately, I don't smell the coconut

Something fresh and fruity hiding behind a synthetic screech. Clearly another fragrance I don't experience correctly.
