Yes yes yes,…
How could it be otherwise, you’ve got me again this evening with a new comment from me! And I must sadly say that today’s comment or rather the fragrance might bring a few tears to your eyes, at least if you’re not a fan of the colder days in autumn and winter and are painfully missing summer.
Because today I’m describing the fragrance Cefiro (the EDT) by Floris. According to the description, the name means “a light breeze” in Spanish (or more correctly “west wind”) and thus naturally refers to a lovely breeze in a Mediterranean setting, for example, when you’re on vacation somewhere like that in summer. You don’t have to bundle up and shiver like aspen leaves with every gust, or be annoyed about stepping into a deep, disgusting puddle in the rain,… no, a breeze like that is a welcome refreshment on sunny days, where you wander through beautiful landscapes dressed casually in T-shirts and shorts or a nice dress. You enjoy the warm weather or lie by the sea watching the bathing beauties… or, depending on your preference,… the toned torsos and tight butts of the guys and… *gag* … no no… I personally prefer the bathing beauties :DDD
And for anyone who misunderstood this paragraph:
I have absolutely NOTHING against gay people, I just mean that as a heterosexual man, I’m simply not into naked guys :D
Anyway, it should be clear that this fragrance is one for warm days, and even if we should now be in winter, you might be able to snuggle up with this scent somewhere nice and dream of lovely summer days, or just weep for summer :)
Either way, it would at least be a change from constantly snuggling up with vanilla scents or something like that :D
And this is how the fragrance smells:
As expected, the fragrance starts off quite fresh and invigorating with wonderful oranges and lemons, which at times even smell so citrusy that they almost make your mouth water due to their sour “taste,” as is sometimes the case with citrus fruits.
I also smell a hint of nutmeg and light sweet notes, which probably come from the musk, this will surely become more apparent later. And somehow the fragrance seems to have a nice, little creamy note, which also feels gentle and soft.
A little later, the sweet notes become a bit stronger, the citrus scents are still present, and the fragrance begins to take on a slightly woodier character. This also makes it warmer. Yes, one could certainly think of light breezes here :)
For the most part, the fragrance remains as described, only that later in the base, you can smell the musk quite well (as expected), which also smells really good :D Of course, the woody notes improve as well, even if you might not be able to precisely identify the “type of wood.” I also find it nice that you can still smell the citrus notes well until the end! This gives the fragrance a lovely freshness throughout.
Yep, the fragrance is a very successful one!
The sillage and longevity:
The sillage is good, at least for a summer fragrance, I find the sillage quite good, significantly better than most summer or citrus fragrances. You don’t have to get really close to smell it on someone, and it also smells good for a long time on yourself. I also found the longevity super, as the fragrance still smelled reasonably good after six to seven hours.
The bottle:
The bottle is clear and rectangular, slightly wider at the top like a trapezoid. The cap is gold-plated and the brand name is engraved on it. The label has a golden frame with a nice decoration. Otherwise, it is black, where you can see the name and logo in golden letters. A somewhat simple, but still nice bottle.
So, the fragrance is wonderfully unique. A nice, little citrus scent with subtle sweetness and woody-spicy notes that indeed take on a Mediterranean direction and remind one of beautiful places in the (or by?? Or something else?? God, my German is so terrible!!!) Mediterranean area. And with everything that goes along with it, like hiking, swimming in the sea, swallowing saltwater, or buying expensive decorative objects that end up gathering dust in the basement after two months! :D
The fragrance is unisex in itself, but in the later base, it feels a bit more masculine to me. It is versatile, meaning whether in summer at work, in leisure time, in the evening, or during the day on vacation, and so on. It’s just less suitable as a party fragrance since the sillage is a bit too weak for that (although, as mentioned, the sillage is still better than most summer fragrances!) and the scent actually smells more like a daytime fragrance than one for, say, partying, but all in all, it’s very, very nice. At the beginning, when the creamy part is still higher, it reminds me a bit of fragrances like the great Allure Homme Édition Blanche by Chanel and similar scents. Later, unfortunately, the creamy note disappears, but the fragrance still smells very nice, it just becomes more aquatic and, as I said, also more masculine and smells… wow, now I can’t think of a really more well-known example, but I would say perhaps like fragrances such as (the probably somewhat overlooked, but also very great) Agua Fresca by Adolfo Dominguez.
Yes, I really liked Cefiro, I would definitely recommend trying it. And I should also test how the EDP of it is sometime!
So, that’s it. Have a nice evening, a good start to the week tomorrow, and see you then :D
