Black Orchid Parfum ist nichts für schwache Nerven. Es ist kühn, sinnlich und strahlt pure Selbstbewusstsein aus.

Gleich beim ersten Sprühen trifft dich eine intensive Mischung aus Trüffel und Pflaume – dunkel, fruchtig und fast berauschend. Es fühlt sich luxuriös, tief und leicht boozy an.

Wenn du dunkle, würzige und leicht süße Düfte mit einem luxuriösen Touch liebst, ist dieses Parfum ein absolutes Must-have. Aber wenn du eher leichte, frische Düfte bevorzugst, könnte es dir zu intensiv sein.

Würde ich es empfehlen? Wenn du teuer, unvergesslich und ein bisschen gefährlich riechen willst – definitiv.

Das ist das beste Parfum in meiner Sammlung. Punkt.

Don't trust your first impression

For so long i stayed away from this and thought it was bad because of the mass appealing affect but then one day.

i gave it a try and man, i fell in love with this scent. even tho it has a mass appealing effect, it is still very outspoken and has something bold. In the opening it might be a bit to loud and sharp but give it 30 minutes to an hour and how it transforms and develops into this spicy, rich, deep, sweet, gourmand yet very woody and spicy scent is what makes you addicted. you want more and more, i have to keep myself from reapplying the scent because i love the transition.

When it comes to performance it is amazing, longevity as well as sillage. on numerous occasions i've had people walk into the room, and say what smells so good in here??! to which i happily replied; me?? For the people that know me they tell me that they could smell me from in the hallway and liked/loved the scent.

Summed up i would say, if you like spicy woody sweet fragrances give this a try, and with that i mean wear it not just one time, but give it a couple of days to a week. And for the mass appeal part, i see it as a plus it is still a pretty bold fragrance and outspoken but when people smell it, instead of finding it polarizing, they end up loving it.

Black Orchid Parfum

Majestic opening with the iconic antagonistic note of chocolatey sweet and delicately bitter earthy truffles of Black Orchid Tradicional here soaked in rum, bringing an alcoholic vibe that already makes clear a slightly more masculine and full-bodied posture than its predecessor.

In this olfactory reinterpretation of the classic from 'TF', the sweetness of the ylang and the earthy chocolatey patchouli were in my view amplified while the rum and plum became even more prominent and thus increasing the sensuality in relation to the original Tom Ford Black Orchid perfume EDP version.

The floral accord is added with the arrival of the fantasy note of black orchid enhancing the dark and nocturnal facet characteristic of this famous composition.
Black Orchid Parfum lost complexity in relation to the Traditional and thus gained versatility and is more "wearable", but the formal, refined, sophisticated and luxurious appeal continues in this edition.

Quite earthy and spicy.

Spraying this perfume always gives me a very dark purple impression. That plum note, the truffle, orchid…it just triggers thoughts of that shade of purple.

The opening is actually quite earthy and spicy. Truffle and the patchouli notes are huge here. It’s not my favorite, but I think that this does get better in the dry down. The orchid is apparent with its own spiciness/chocolatey nuances.

Plum is also a prominent note. It’s paired with rum, which gives it a very interesting and further spiced quality. Plummy rum doesn’t sound like it’d taste that great, but the smell is nice.

That opening blast will calm down after 10 minutes or so. The plum feels more defined and the balance of the composition is a lot better to my nose. That truffle sticks around, but the patchouli and rum will back off in intensity.

So, it’s earthier rather than a blend of earthy and spicy. Still, you have that sweet boozy quality and the ylang-ylang really begins to come into play.

At this stage, the orchid is superseded by that ylang-ylang. There is a creaminess to the blend. It’s funny, because it does have a dark chocolate-like aroma, but also an earthy almost dusty touches to it. Parfum strikes me as a very dry perfume.

The end is a ylang-ylang and truffle/patchoui mix. The other notes just sort of blend together into a sweetish dark concoction, that’s really attractive.

Smells Like Wealth

I sprayed this on and immediately went "whoa". It's a very deep, in-your-face spice at the beginning. This smells like something you would wear to the will reading for your rich husband who died under mysterious circumstances. I got this in a Sephora sampler set and don't hate it, especially once it dries down and mellows out a little bit, but I probably won't be redeeming the voucher on this, even though it's the most expensive fragrance in the set (it retails for more than double the price of the sampler set).
